Update on Our Powder Room Renovation-See Our Vanity Choice!

We have 2 new renovation projects underway. Our kitchen and the renovation of our powder room with a new vanity, lighted mirror cabinet, new toilet and new paint. We made our decision on the vanity and medicine cabinet and want to share our choice with you.

We are happy to be working with Strasser Woodenworks  and love their selection of bathroom vanities, vanity tops and medicine cabinets. We chose the 34.5″ height vanity in the Montlake Collection. For our door style we chose the miter and for our finish we picked satin white.

The vanity size is 48″ and we went with a 49″ pearl white quartz top with rectangular sink. We ordered the top to be customized for a one hole faucet.

For the medicine cabinet we went with the traditional tri-view with the matching miter door style in the satin white finish. We chose the model with the LED light bar.

I think this is going to look great and really update the space nicely and give us a so much more useful storage space. Stay tuned to see the progress of this new project and for the update on the toilet and faucet we chose for this bathroom.

If you are looking for a new vanity, check out Strasser Woodenworks. I have been working with Peter and he has been very helpful through the process. Strasser has over 10,000 combinations of door styles, finishes, knobs, pulls, granite, quartz and vitreous china tops.

Everything is made in the USA to order! It takes about 2 weeks for the vanity and medicine cabinet to be built using hardwoods sourced in the USA and Canada. They build with quality hardware and their soft close hinges are the highest quality and durable. Their cabinets are built with hardware not glued!

Strasser Woodenworks products come with a warranty to be free of defects in workmanship, materials and finish failure for as long as you own the product. That makes me feel really good! You can stay in the loop with Strasser Woodenworks on Facebook, Google +, Pinterest and Houzz.

Let me know what you think of our choice by leaving a comment here. I would love to know what you think.

Carolyn, what did you think of your Strasser vanities? I received mine and they seem really low quality for the price. I picked the Simplicity in white and I was very disappointed. I hope you were not but you can see the pictures of mine on twitter @ laIndy@laIndy4. Thanks and I do enjoy your site.

    • Wow, I am surprised to hear that, we have not done the reveal yet but have had it installed over the summer and it looks fabulous!!! The wood is very high quality and the way it was all delivered to us was so professional and well protected in its own wood crate for the gorgeous white quartz countertop and the mirror cabinet and vanity was wrapped very well each knob was protected. The contractor, the plumber and others in the crew kept asking where I got it because it was so well constructed. So not sure what the simplicity is but we are more than impressed with this vanity and with the customer service and support that has been working with us through all the ordering, delivery and any installation questions we had. We did get the big 48″ upper 3 door mirror cabinet that matches the vanity and has the integrated Hafele led lighting. What type of top did you get? We were very impressed with that too as I said. we chose the rectangle undermount sink and that was all finished and delivered in its own crate. I would call the company because they truly care about their customers and explain what your issues are, I am sure they will work with you to find a solution. Stay tuned because we are almost ready to do the reveal of that bathroom. We had some contractor changes and I had some health issues that caused some significant delays but we should be ready very shortly. Thanks for reading and please let me know how you make out.

    • Hi Kristin,

I just looked at your photo on Twitter and I am confused. I see you bought it from Wayfair. I got everything direct from Strasser Woodenworks out in Washington State. I did check your photo and the alignment of everything looks crazy. I am not sure if you had to assemble the unit yourself or what but something is really wrong. You refer to it on Twitter as a kit, did it come with a top? I see it says something about MDF foil construction. My vanity is the Montlake Collection with soft close hinges and self closing doors. Like I said, everything was beautiful and looked nothing like the one you are showing. The size and drawer configuration look similar but we have a high vanity, I believe it is 34″ and we have a different door style. I am not thrilled with Wayfair because of other reasons, their prices are almost always wrong on many items and they let your order stay with the status of “getting ready for shipment” only to cancel it several days later with an email saying they had a pricing error. The thing that really irks me is, the price is still the same when I get the email and if it was an error why would it not be fixed. I did not order the vanity from them but I think it has to be on their end because Strasser would never send out something like that. I wonder if something happened in their warehouse or if they do assembly in their warehouse. I would definitely show the photo to Strasser because that is just nothing they would send out and they need to know if Wayfair is doing this. Please do let me know how you make out.

    Carolyn,
Thanks for your reply. The Simplicity series may be considered Strassers “economy” series. The picture I posted was right after I opened the box to look at it. It was already put together and only included the vanity. We ordered a marble top from a local company. It was very well packed and delivered quickly. I too have had problems with Wayfair and that may be the problem however, for over $1100 I expected more. We are refinancing our home and the appraisal is next Friday so I have to install the vanity because I won’t have time to replace it. I’ll be contacting Strasser and ley you know how it works out.
    Thanks again for your reply,
    Kristin

    • Okay well, hopefully the doors and drawers looked better after some adjustment. Wayfair in my opinion has terrible customer service, they care nothing about their continuous pricing errors. The first time someone provided me stellar service and actually sold me the rug at the price it was listed on the site for days that they said was an error, I was impressed. They did the right thing for once and she followed up with me for days after until it shipped etc. When I referenced her actions to a rather rude customer service rep afterward, I was told that what she did was not in keeping with Wayfair’s policy and that she was now undergoing training to make sure she never did anything like that again. So, basically they reprimand reps that provide good customer service and train them to put their customers last. Please do let me know how everything looks once installed. Good luck.
