Richard Scarry’s “Best Word Book Ever” Review & Giveaway!!!
How many of you remember Richard Scarry’s Best Word Book Ever? You should, it has been in print for 50 years. I remember this book as a kid, had and read it with my older kids and now share it with my youngest little ones. This is such a great book that is sure to be around another 50 years without a doubt!

Inspirational Romance, “Heart of the Country” DVD Review!!!
Rising star Jana Kramer is one to watch on and off the big screen. Selling an impressive 1.5 million tracks off her self-titled debut album, including her current single “I Hope It Rains” along with her debut hit single, “Why Ya Wanna,” Kramer was named Academy of Country Music’s New Female Vocalist of the Year for 2013. Curb Appeal Previews!!! Updating Exterior Lights & Painting Vinyl Shutters!!!
We have been very busy power washing, painting, staining, cleaning, and updating. We are going to give you a sneak peek of a couple of the first Curb Appeal feature posts. First we are going to show you how easy it is to give your outdoor lighting fixtures a whole new look. I have 10 brass lights on my house so believe me I get to really explore this to bring you great tips that will get you stunning results. This update cost us a little under $3 a light so for $30 it really packs the bang for your buck! I cannot wait to bring you all the details and of course the great reveal of all the new hammered bronze lights.
Next we really wanted to give our poor tired blue vinyl shutters a big lift. I will tell you all about how we picked the paint and the color and lots of painting tips to make sure you get excellent results. I have so many shutters on my house I am just about halfway through or at least that is what I am telling myself.

“Sons of Anarchy” Season Five Blu-Ray Giveaway!!!

Season 5 was full of new characters from Lee Toric (Donal Logue) to the mysterious Nero Padilla (Jimmy Smits). But who is Nero and how does he fit into SAMCRO? Let’s find out!
Who is Nero Padilla?
Neron “Nero” Padilla calls himself a “companionator,” and is the owner and operator of Diosa, an escort service agency. He was a former gangbanger who threw his lucrative business was able to retire and live his life taking care of his disabled son. It’s not long before crosses paths with SAMCRO, and their vixen matron Gemma Teller-Morrow.
It’s Just Business
Even though Nero has proven to be a sensitive, sweet man, Jax dislikes that he and his mom have grown fond of each other. That said, Jax sees Nero as a mentor; in a heart to heart, Nero shares his retirement plans with Jax. Seeing an opportunity for business development, Jax and Nero decide to partner together to grow the escort service. The deal comes at a price – Nero must stop seeing Gemma.
Gemma’s New Chance at Love
When Nero meets Gemma, she is a mess. Her marriage to Clay has disintegrated from all the lies and beatings. Her son Jax and her daughter-in-law have lost all respect for her. She is all but banished in their household and she has no one to talk to; no friends left. Nero, however, sees a side of Gemma that she never sees. Her fragile vulnerable side and slowly they become friends, and lovers. As Gemma comes to know Nero, she grows to love him. But like all things in her life, Gemma can never be happy, and things with Nero come to a heartbreaking close
A Turn for the Worse
When Jax disappears, Nero steps in to help the Sons track him down. In his zeal to succeed, Nero shoots and kills a member of his old crew while playing video games. When one of his guys accuses him of forgetting his roots, nero shoots him in the head. “You wanted me back, I’m back,” he says as he exits. Unfortuantely for Nero, his old crew had nothing to do with Jax’s disappearance and to make things worse, Clay lets him know that it was all a “misunderstanding.”
What will happen to Nero as “Sons of Anarchy” progresses? Only time will tell.
“Sons of Anarchy: Season Five” is in stores now on Blu-ray and DVD courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Season 6 of “Sons of Anarchy” premieres Tuesday, 9/10 at 10 PM on FX.

Painting, Staining, Updating, Renovating and Tons of Projects To Be Featured In Mommy Ramblings’ New Series!!!
I am so excited to announce that Mommy Ramblings will be debuting a brand new series of posts. Our first one will be Curb Appeal. Curb Appeal is going to highlight great DIY projects big and small the homeowner can do to give their home a face-lift and increase its value.
Some projects we will be featuring in the series will be:
- Painting tired, faded vinyl shutters
- Painting and changing the look of brass exterior lighting
- Painting and Staining projects
- Landscaping
We will then have other series featuring interior fixes, decorating, painting, interior lighting upgrades and more. The posts will run with the main posts but will have their own page so they can be referenced easily. We hope you will enjoy this new addition to our blog and we will do our best to give you step by step instructions, full product information and more to help you recreate what you see.
