I was given a gift certificate to purchase something and to get aquainted with the Novica experience.  With so many artisians and places to choose from it was very difficult.  I ended up choosing Pinewood wall art, “Angel of Hope.”  Shaped of pinewood, a beautiful angel brings a message of hope. Woodworkers of Jesus create this beautiful image, painted by hand in radiant color. What a wonderful way to buy beautiful things from skilled artisans all over the world.  This handcrafted angel came with free gift wrap and when I opened it I just loved the colors and the workmanship was beautiful.  This is such a colorful piece and it just makes me happy to see it.  Some beautiful things include Womens Robes, Sarongs and Floral Bracelets.

Fresh Baby, Divided Dish & Baby Bowl Review and Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I like to feed my kids healthy food.  We are big fruit eaters, but it is hard to find healthy snacks when you are on the run a lot.  Most times bags of chips or cookies are readily available, but they are not really healthy choices.  Fresh Baby sent me a divided dish with cover and bowl with cover.  They are stainless steel inside, dishwasher safe. freezer safe and they make it super easy for me to tote along healthy snacks when we are on the go.  I can simply cut up some fresh fruit and pop them in my diaper bag.  Then when the kids are fussy and there are no healthy snacks around, I can pull them out and have happy kids.  I really like that the divided dish is so versatile, the divider is removable for just one item or it can be fit in any of the three notches to divide the dish up into differnt size compartments.  These dishes are also great if you make your own baby food and the stainless steel is easy to clean.  I really like these dishes and highly recommend them.

Bears! Bears! Bears! By Bob Barner Childrens Storybook Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Chronicle Books recently sent me a copy of Bob Barner‘s childrens’ book, Bears! Bears! Bears!, to review.  Storytime is a big deal around here and we are always on the search for great books.  I read this as a bedtime story the other night to my four year old.  This book is an easy read with great colorful pictures and tells young children about the different types of bears, their habbits and where they live.  This book was a great springboard for my son and I to discuss what kind of bears live near us, how big they are, what they eat and their physical characteristics.   It is a great book and I would recommend it for young children.

Kicky Pants Bamboo Clothing Review!!!

I was recently sent 2 polo shirts from Kicky Pants to review.  For those not familiar with Kicky Pants their clothing is made from renewable Bamboo and a bit of Lycra and the result is a a super soft fabric that moves with you.  Seriously comfortable for active little ones.  Bamboo fabric is naturally anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-static.  Bamboo absorbs water 3-4 times better than cotton and keeps skin comfortable and not sticky in summer weather.  Bamboo stays 2 to 3 degrees cooler in warm weather and warmer in cold.  Have a look at the Kicky Pants Website and check out their outlet for some really great sales on some really great clothes.

Green Toys™ Flatbed Truck & Race Car Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

 

Recently, I was sent a Green Toys Flatbed Truck & Race Car to review.  For those of you who are not familiar with Green Toys, their toys are made out of recycled milk jugs and are made in the USA.  You can read about the interesting process on their website by clicking here.  Green Toys has a variety of toys and even tableware.

The first thing I can see is that this is a very durable toy, that is made to withstand rough and tumble play.  I explained to my four year old how the truck is made out of the milk jugs we recycle.  That was really cool for him to hear.  My 2 and 4 year old both loved the truck and race car.  The flatbed on the truck can be raised and lowered and the little race car even has a little outlet on it to show it really is a green car.  The toys are made with  no BPA, PVC, phthalates, or external coatings.  This truck and car can be easily rinsed if it gets sandy or dirty as little boys love to play hard with their cars and trucks.  Nothing to get rusty or any sharp edges to hurt little ones.  This is not only a fun toy but it is such a great company to manufacture toys this way for the children that are our future.

Pet Squeak’s Porch Pups Wood Dog House Review!!!

I was delighted when I was asked by Pet Squeak to pick a dog house I would like to do a review on.  I chose the Porch Pups Wood Dog House in size Large.  We don’t keep our dogs outside but they do run a lot and hang out outside during the day and it is always nice to have a little place they can get some shade or some shelter if necessary.  This dog house arrived in a large box.

 Upon opening the box you could smell the aroma of the Cedar which is naturally resistant to pests.  The pieces were nicely packed along with the instructions and hardware.

The first step was to attach the front to the two sides and then attach the back wall.  This was very simple and the pieces fit together perfectly.

The cedar floor is 2 pieces and notched just to be fit in and is up off the ground.

The the two sections of the roof go on and are secured with four screws to each side.

Then you attach the roof ridge.

Next you attach the side porch railings to the porch floor and put it in from of the dog house and you are done!!!

Ummm, something is not right here.

So  to recap, this dog house was easy to put together.  It is constructed of high quality natural rot resistant cedar, all the pieces fit perfectly and I would definitely recommend Pet Squeak Dog Houses.  Have a look at all the different styles on their Website.  You can purchase these dog houses on Amazon.com and CSN Stores.

Trading Phrases Wall Decals Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I was lucky to connect with Trading Phrases Wall Decals recently.  I chose to review a wall decal of 1 Corinthians.  I was able to pick my font colors and I chose violet for everything except the “Love” which I chose burgundy for.  The decal arrived in a cylinder with a burnishing tool, instructions and some test pieces if you are not used to doing this.  I used a masking tape to tape the top to my wall where I wanted it.  We checked it to make sure it was level.  Then my husband and I  (best to have 2 people for a decal this size) carefully lifted up the decal to pull off the backing.  Once we had that off,  we carefully smoothed the decal to the wall and I went to work with the burnishing tool rubbing all the printed areas and getting out any air bubbles.  When this was done I started pulling down from one corner, this needs to be done slowly because if you see anything that is not attached to the wall you just put the paper up to the wall and rub with the burnishing tool and then remove the paper again.  This happened to me on a few dots of an i but it was very easy just to rub it again and it transfered nicely to the wall.  It went very easy and I was quite impressed how well it turned out.  The last step was to put the word “Love” on the wall since that was a separate piece.  I again did the same process and I got great results.  I really love it and I am looking to order more.  The Trading Phrases Website has such a wonderful selections of wall decals.
