The Prepared Pantry,Gourmet Cinnamon Chips Review and Giveaway!!!

 

My husband and kids love cinnamon, you cannot believe how many times my husband whips up his famous cinnamon rolls.  It was the perfect match when I was asked by The Prepared Pantry to review their Gourmet Cinnamon Chips.  I found a great recipe online for Snickerdoodle Blondies with Cinnamon Chips, and I knew I had to bake those.  The Cinnamon Chips smell so good, not artificial or too strong, but just absolutely yummy.  I prepared the batter, added the chips and put it in a greased 13 by 9 pan.  After sprinkling with cinnamon and sugar, I baked it and it smelled so wonderful that I could not wait until if cooled an grabbed a piece while warm so my piece may have not been so pretty but it was warm, moist and delicious and reminded me of a cinnamon streussel coffee cake.  Every one else love it too and I can tell you that there is very little of the pan left.  If you are looking for a delicious cinnamon chip to use in recipes, then you must try The Prepared Pantry.

  1. This is a “zero trans fat” product.

The manufacturer intended this to be a multipurpose cinnamon chip–either to hold its shape and create cinnamon nodules in the baked good or to be dissolved for a cinnamon presence throughout the loaf or muffin.  We have used these cinnamon chips extensively.  They will melt if added early in the mixing process.  If you want them to hold their shape, add your cinnamon chips at the end of the mixing process, the last ingredient that you add.  You will then have nodules of cinnamon as shown in the bread picture.
  3. We sell lots of these cinnamon chips and have never had a complaint.  Though we use these cinnamon baking chips in breads and muffins, it seems that the most popular use is for cookies.  We have included our favorite cinnamon chip muffin recipe below.

Vintage Couture Outfit Review and Giveaway!!!

I recently connected with Vintage Couture and was asked to select an outfit for a review.  I chose the J Collection, Blue Jean with Black Stitch and the Green Hooded Extreme Music Shirt (there is no link for the shirt because it is apparently sold out).  I received the items and I have to tell you, I was so impressed with even the hang tags on these great pieces.  The jeans were very detailed with leather accents on the pockets, funky blue denim, frayed denim accents on the pockets, fleur-de-lis buttons and adjustable tabs in the waist of the jeans for a great fit.  The quality was top notch and the materials and finishings make these jeans really stand out.  The shirt is great too and a nice weight and mock layer with a hood and lots of rocker detail to make boys feel really cool.  The shirt is so comfy and the jeans were as well that my son wore them all day after the photo shoot.

Global Alliance For Improved Nutrition, FutureFortified Campaign!!!

Have you ever heard of the FutureFortified campaign?  Future Fortified is a campaign of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). They help millions of women and children in developing countries get access to the essential nutrients they need to lead healthy, enriched lives. Their goal is to increase access to improved nutrition for 50 million women and children by 2015.

Overview of FutureFortified Campaign:

Good nutrition is something every person in the world needs every single day. We know the best way to get the essential nutrients needed for good health and development is through well-balanced, diverse diet. Yet 2 billion people around the world do not have access to a diverse diet and rely on staple foods and, as a result, are under-nourished.

Given the scope of undernutrition we need to find sustainable, long-term means to improve nutrition, particularly ensuring women and children have access to essential nutrients – vitamins, minerals and essential fats – that are vital for good health and development. In order to do this, Future Fortified and its partners work with businesses, governments and communities to ensure highly nutritious foods and products are not only available through the health system, but also are affordable to low-income families who can purchase these products on an ongoing basis. This is the market-based approach.

By working with companies to improve the quality and affordability of nutritious products, working with communities and organizations to educate families on the importance of good nutrition, specifically for women and children in the 1,000 day “window of opportunity”, and working with governments, we are striving to make better nutrition available at all times and to the majority of people.

 

I was intrigued when I was recently asked to write about the FutureFortified Campaign.  Through Home Nutritional Packets that cost only a few pennies, they provide essential nutrients — including vitamins, minerals, essential fats, and amino acids — also known as micronutrients and macronutrients — are necessary for life.

Amamante, Night and Day Nursing Bra Review and Giveaway!!!

I recently had the opportunity to review a Night and Day nursing bra from Amamante Nursingwear. The soft, comfortable material is thin and breathable, and has a wide elastic band for support. The easy to use design allows you to just push it out-of-the-way without worrying about clasps, which makes it so nice for middle of the night feedings when you are still half sleeping! It is so comfortable for sleeping in, I barely noticed I was wearing anything! There were no sharp wires cutting into me and it was not too loose or too tight. Some of my nursing tank tops have tight elastic around the body and leave uncomfortable red marks and chafing, leaving me ready to take it off by the morning. While wearing the Night and Day Bra, I didn’t get any red marks and didn’t feel the need to take it off right away.

The versatility of the bra allows it to fit from cup sizes B to D, you just get the band in your size. This bra is the perfect solution for when you are pregnant and nursing and your cup size fluctuates! I found the bra very comfortable, I can clearly see how this would fit more than just one cup size. I sometimes have trouble finding nursing bras that fit because they usually only have the larger sizes, but this Night and Day bra fit very well.

The Night and Day Nursing bra is the same that is integrated into their Signature nursing nightgown and Serenity Nursing Pajamas, which is wonderful for nighttime use, but you can also get the same comfort throughout the day when you wear this bra. The signature nursing nightgown would be perfect for wearing during pregnancy since the bra is so comfortable, and the gown accommodates a growing belly.

Juliet Dream, Rust Cowl Sweater Review and Divine Top Giveaway!!!

I recently had the opportunity to review a Rust Cowl Sweater from Juliet Dream. I love this sweater, the material is soft and luxurious, it’s medium weight, not too thick and heavy like some can be. I think the style of this top is classy and graceful. I paired it with a wide belt and I love the style! It can hold it’s own by itself, but I always like to accessorize and this style of sweater accommodates for that! One thing I really like is the sleeves, they are long enough to cover the top of my hands. Some tops don’t have sleeves that are long enough and makes it feel like it’s too small, but these sleeves were just the right length. It also looks just fine if you roll the sleeves up and wear them at your elbows, and they stay there, which was helpful when I was giving my boys a bath, you moms have to appreciate that! It was very comfortable and felt good wearing it.

Fiesta Bakeware, Rectangular and Square Baker Review and Loaf Pan Giveaway!!!

I was thrilled recently to have the opportunity to review 2 great pieces of Fiesta Bakeware.  I chose the Rectangular and Square Baker Set which consists of a 9″ by 13″  and a 9″ by 9″ pan.  The pans are dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe, made of fully vitrified lead-free china with a color glaze and made in the USA.  I selected both in the peacock color.  I was very impressed with the weight and quality of the bakeware.  The first thing I did was run them through the dishwasher.  They emerged beautifully clean and shiny and ready for their review.  I thought it only fitting to bake a pan of Fiesta Brownies to try our the 13″ by 9″ size and I made some chocolate truffle brownies in the 9″ by 9″ pan.  -They baked in the allotted time and cooked evenly.  They did not stick at all to the pan and released easily.  I put them back in the dishwasher where they came out as if they had never been used.  I find them so handy for a multitude of cooking, baking and serving needs.  Fiesta Bakeware comes in a rainbow of colors so you can mix and match any way you want.  If you are looking for quality bakeware that is safe and made in the USA, check out Fiesta Bakeware.

My Sibling & My Pal Doll For Going Green Review and Giveaway!!!

I recently had the opportunity to review a My Pal 18″ doll. I chose the blonde haired, blue eyed Going Green doll for my nieces, because their coloring is similar and I thought they would like their new little sister to look like them! The doll has a soft body, with moveable, poseable, plastic arms and legs. Her face is detailed with a slight smile and pretty little eyelashes on her blue eyes that close when you lay her down. Her long hair has a healthy looking shine to it and is easy to brush out and style with braids, or pigtails.

My Pal’s Going Green Doll outfit is made completely in the USA, recycled from adult clothing, and re-sewn into doll clothes! Her outfit is a cute neutral style, a green t-shirt with a beige skirt, a matching headband and a cute plaid handbag. They are well made, and easy to take on and off for little girls who love dressing their dolls! Her sandals are made of recycled cardboard and covered in fabric, they are so unique and give her an earthy vibe. My niece was captivated by her new friend, and couldn’t wait to have her in her arms. I think she was pretty tickled that the doll looked like her, with blonde hair and blue-green eyes!

My Pal for Going Green doll’s mission is to help raise awareness about caring for the environment. She came with a little booklet that suggests websites and books and provides her new friends with information on going green. There are also blank pages to encourage your child to write their own story on what they have done, or are planning to do for the environment. The booklet is printed on 100% recycled paper!

 Our Views:

I was sent a pair of pediped flex shoes for my four-year old son. The style we received was the Flex Hayden in Navy/Red. When pediped says flex, they mean flex. These are extremely flexible shoes and after he tried them on, I really could not keep him still.  He told me they were great shoes for running and then quickly demonstrated his incredible speed with them.  They are quality constructed and the Velcro closures make it easy to get a snug fit and lets kids who cannot tie laces yet, get their shoes on and fastened, which is a great help to mom and dad on mornings when we are running late for preschool.  The shoes light athletic style is perfect for spring and summer.  The shoes have a suede upper, all natural rubber sole, and features the Flex Fit System, which allows children to adjust the fit of their shoes and prolong the length of wear.  These shoes have the approval of the American Podiatric Medical Association for promoting healthy foot development.
