Organized Living, Big Mesh Sports Basket Review & Give-Away!!!

Having five kids, four of which are boys and add in my husband, we have a lot of balls in the house.  Okay, get your minds out of the gutter!!!  I am talking about sports balls!!!  We have more basketballs, soccer balls, playground balls, footballs, volleyballs and baseballs than I could ever count.  I told you how we are trying to get our garage more organized, so when I was asked to pick a product to review from Organized Living, it was the Big Mesh Sports Basket, without a doubt.  This great basket is configured with hooks that attach directly to the Grid (SKU 4696425041) or mount direct on the wall.  Soft sides are super strong to hold pool equipment, toys, tools, and more. The basket is huge and extra deep to hold large balls, and so much more. The basket dimensions are  30W x 26H x 18D.  My husband put this up in our garage right into the studs and it is so strong.  He wanted me to put both little ones in it to take a picture to show you just how strong it was.  This basket is not going anywhere even if the kids want to slam dunk the balls, when they put them away.  It is really great to have a nice big space up off the floor that can hold balls and other sports equiptment.  There is a slit on the front that makes it easy to get the balls in and out.  This has definitely been a great addition to our garage and really is helping us get organized.

Big Mesh Sports Basket

Great news for those of you trying to get organized.  Organized Living is sponsoring a give-away on Mommy Ramblings.  One lucky blog reader will win their own Big Mesh Sports Basket.  Thank you Organized Living for the review basket and for sponsoring such an awesome give-away on Mommy Ramblings!!!  Open to residents of the contiguous 48 US States.

Bambo Nature Diapers Review and Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Bambo Nature recently sent me a package of their Eco-friendly diapers and I was excited to try them out! I got the maxi size 4. They were a tad big on my 18lb, 8 month old, so the size 3 would have been a better fit for him.  Despite the bigger size, they still worked just fine! The size 4 fit very well on my 2-year-old, and worked great! When using disposable diapers, I always had a hard time finding one that would not leak through the night. Bambo Nature diapers stood up great as a nighttime diaper! As long as you change diapers in a reasonable amount of time, just like any other diaper, you shouldn’t have to worry about leaks! For daytime use they work just as good as any diaper, we usually never have a problem then. It is during the night that Bambo Nature excelled for me, having no leaks like we usually do. One cool feature they have, is blue indicator writing on the front that blurs when the diaper is wet, so you know when it is time to change.

In manufacturing, Abena, Bambo Nature’s manufacturer, is environmentally conscious by recycling and using energy saving machines. They don’t use any chemicals in their diapers, and have almost completely reduced all waste during the production process. Being that they have a much lower eco footprint than regular disposables, Bambo Nature diapers are a great alternative to my cloth diapering, when I am in town, or go on vacation. I really liked Bambo Nature diapers, they are well made, and do their job!

I am happy to tell you that Bambo Nature is sponsoring a give-away on Mommy Ramblings!!! Two lucky winners will each get a bag of diapers of their choice.  Thank you Bambo Nature for the review diapers and for sponsoring this fantastic give-away! Open to residents of the contiguous 48 US states.

Real Kids Shades Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I recently connected with Real Kids Shades and they sent me a few of their sunglasses to review.  I know how important it is to protect my childrens’ eyes from the damaging rays of the sun.  I am lucky, my kids love to wear sunglasses, but I always worry if the ones I am buying have the right protection for their eyes.  With Real Kids Shades, they are comfortable, good-looking and offer the best eye protection.  They have so many great styles to fit kids of every age.  They are super durable and stay on active kids.  The frames were flexible and other styles had an adjustable band to fit even the tiniest heads.  They have such a great selection and their sunglasses are so comfortable, you child will not want to take them off.

Real Kids Shades® – the leading innovator in children’s 100% UV eye protection.  The idea is simple:  Offer affordable, real sunglasses designed just for kids.  Not toys and not scaled-down versions of adult shades.  Make them comfortable (so kids will wear them), durable (so they stand up to kid life), and good-looking (so they get used.)

Everyone loves sunlight.  And everyone now knows that the sun can do real damage, especially to kids.  Four of every five parents these days use sunscreen on their kids. But what about their eyes?

The American Academy of Pediatrics says children’s eyes are at increased risk for permanent damage from sunlight until they are at least 10 years old.  And yet most children’s sunglasses are sold as toys.  Toys are fun, toys are great, but not if they’re expected to protect something as vital as your kids’ eyesight.

100% UV Protection

All Real Kids Shades® offer 100% UV protection, as measured by the strictest American, European and Australian governing bodies.  That means they protect your children from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Over exposure to UV rays can lead to more serious eye damage later in life.  Our sunglasses are FDA Approved for protecting children’s eyes against dangerous exposure to UVA and UVB rays.

I am happy to let you know that Real Kids Shades is sponsoring a give-away on Mommy Ramblings.  One lucky blog reader will win a pair of Real Kids Shades of their choice.  Thank you Real Kids Shades for the review sunglasses and for sponsoring such a great give-away on Mommy Ramblings.  Open to US and Canadian Residents.

Kidwick Books, “Bad Rats” Book and Audio CD Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Bad Rats CoverI was recently sent, “Bad Rats” Book and Audio CD by Eric Drachman, from Kidwick Books.  This delightful story brings readers to a school for Bad Rats.  The stern Professor Perimeter, starts out explaining to the rats that they are bad, because they follow their heart and not their mind.  He goes on to tell them, our minds are neat but our hearts are messy.  The Bad Rats are not really bad just more creative then their counterparts, they each dream of being an artist.  Professor Perimeter tries to get them to abandon those dreams because they put them in danger.  However, in the story Professor Perimeter discovers his own messy heart and sees the rats as exceptional and not bad.  A heartwarming story that shows children it is okay to be different.  The Audio CD is great to listen to along with reading the story Book is good for ages 4-8.

From the Publisher:

Bad Rats…Not So Bad After All!

In Kidwick Books’ award-winning tradition, Bad Rats manages to make us laugh and pull at our heartstrings with the winning combination of soft expressive illustrations, an inspiring story, beautiful original music which complements the dramatic audio CD, and of course, the touching performances of our little voice actors (as well as our big ones.)

Josiah and his cohorts are not really “bad.” They’re just bad rats – or rather, they are supposedly not rat-like enough. They’ve been sent to the “learning curb” where Professor Perimeter is determined to teach them to be good rats. See, they’re artists, and painting outside the box like that is just not right for a rat. Through the course of the story, these sweet little rats find a way to express themselves through their art, and in doing so, manage to open the professor’s heart again, as he rediscovers the value of creativity.

The companion “Book-on-CD” will transport little readers into Josiah’s world with sound effects and wonderful performances by children and adults. The dramatic storytelling is narrated by the author and features his young nephew, Eli Drachman, among other delightful voices. (Audible page turns help your children follow along as they learn to read.)

Eric Drachman has an MFA in Acting, a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in making kids laugh. Like some of our rats, Eric is known for thinking outside the box. In fact, it is this very out-of-box thinking that has helped him make his mark in the competitive world of children¹s book writing and publishing…and to inspire the most creative of all thinkers—his little readers. Eric currently resides in Los Angeles, California.

The Original Flap Happy Hat Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I am a huge proponent of keeping children and yourself covered in the sun.  My kids have very fair skin and will burn to a crisp in minutes.  I am the same way.  I have always like Flap Happy Hats because they are so great at covering a child’s tender neck area that tends to get forgotten and burn.  The huge brim gives them the ultimate in face protection.  I was recently asked to do a review on The Original Flap Happy Hat.  I chose the Original Flap Hat, Lobster Squad Print in Microfiber.  It is very generously sized and the xx-large fits my 4.5 year old very well and is a bit big on my 2.5 year old.  I did not have to fight them to wear this hat at all.  The fun print and the comfortable fabric had them not wanting to take it off.  My son Ethan played an entire soccer practice wearing this hat.  I will definitely be picking up some other colors of this hat because with its 50+ UPF it does a great job protecting my children’s faces, neck and ears.  Flap Happy has so many great colors and fabrics it is hard to choose just one anyway.

The Original Flap Happy Hat UPF 50+: Designed to provide excellent sun protection from damaging UV rays. The hat has a large brim to shade the face and the flap covers the ears and neck from the harsh rays of the sun with an elastic band to help fit snuggly around the head. This hat looks terrific when paired with Flap Happy Swimwear or Playwear. Perfect for any outdoor or water activity and practical and good-looking for every day of the year. Your child will love to wear this hat for its comfort. Available in an array of colors and fun prints. Makes a Great Gift.

Flap Happy Hats is sponsoring a give-away on Mommy Ramblings.  One lucky blog reader will win a Flap Happy Hat in their choice of style/color and size.  Thank you Flap Happy for the great review hat and for sponsoring this great give-away.  Open to US and Canadian Residents.

Uncommongoods.com, Zoku Quick Pop Maker Review & $50 Gift Certificate Give-Away!!!

Great gift ideas at UncommonGoods

The other day, when I was out shopping, almost every store I went in, had Christmas Trees, Wreaths, and Lights on display and for sale. There is no denying, despite the unseasonably warm weather we are having here in NY, that the holiday season is coming upon us fast. Many of you have started your shopping, and I have a great place to tell you about for unique and creative gifts for the people on your list.  I was recently asked by uncommongoods.com to do a review of their site.  They generously provided me with a gift code, and after looking a long time at their great inventory, I saw the Zoku Quick Pop Maker and ordered that.  I am a huge VitaMixer and I thought this would be great to make healthy and delicious pops for my family.  I put frozen pineapple, mango, strawberries, and raspberries in the VitaMix along with some water and a little honey and blended that all up.  Then I got the Zoku Pop Mold which I had washed and stuck in the freezer for at least 24 hours.  I put the sticks in (remember not to take the sticks out to reposition or for any reason or it will not work).  Then I poured in the blended mixture and waited about 7 minutes.  I was able just to use the tool provided to screw on the end of the pop stick and it released perfectly, even the one I had overfilled.  You can then unscrew the tool and pop on a drip catcher and you are ready to enjoy.  I made 6 from the same mold without refreezing and put the extra in zip lock bags in the freezer for later.  The pops were delicious and healthy and my kids loved them, as did my husband and myself.

uncommongoods.com has great gifts such as cool Gifts for TeensTeen Girl GiftsUnique Jewelry, Decorative Accents, Kitchen Tools and much more.  Their site is easy to navigate and place orders on.

Amber Artisans,Baltic Amber Baby Teething Necklace Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

In the past few years, I have heard a lot about how Amber Necklaces help ease teething pain.  I was recently sent a beautiful Baltic Amber Baby Teething Necklace from Amber Artisans to review.  I have learned so much about how this necklace can be used to relieve pain, even on adults as an anklet.  Amber Artisians has a great selection of Amber products on their website and everything is lovingly made by Lithuanian amber artisans who have generations of experience.

These beautiful, handmade Baltic amber baby teething necklaces glow warmly against baby’s skin. Made from high grade 100% natural Baltic amber. Oval amber beads are extra rounded and polished for comfort by Lithuanian amber artisans with generations of experience. Befitting these priceless and timeless treasures, each comes with its own complimentary natural Lithuanian linen bag.

Amber teething necklaces are made to wear but not to chew! Teething jewelry should be removed when child is sleeping or unattended! Learn more about amber teething necklaces .

Baltic amber baby teething necklaces have been used as the single best teething pain solution throughout Europe for generations. Today they are a common household item in European families that are considered one of the most important items used to care for a baby.

How Does It Work?

Natural Baltic Amber has many therapeutic qualities and provides natural pain relief. Baltic Amber releases healing oils which when warmed absorb into the skin. These oils reduce pain caused by teething, red inflamed cheeks and stimulates the thyroid glands to reduce drooling! Amber is known to boost the immune system, reduce inflammation, accelerate healing, and reduce throat, ear and stomach infections and respiratory disease as well as simply maintain healthy living. Read more about the many benefits of Baltic amber .

Features:

*A natural analgesic, amber helps remedy restlessness, irritability, sleep trouble and pain.

*We only use the BEST QUALITY, GENUINE, ANCIENT AMBER from Lithuania where experienced hand-crafters create intricate necklaces designed to follow the centuries old European style so you receive an absolutely unique necklace unlike any other.

*The amber beads are smooth and round so they are nice and comfortable for your baby’s skin.

*Amber is non-toxic (fossil resin produced by pine trees) and used in medicinal mixtures by many cultures.

*The beads are knotted before and after each bead so that in the event that the necklace does break only one bead will come off and the remaining beads will stay intact.

*A safe and effective homoeopathic remedy for teething. A perfect alternative to teething drugs, medication or gels.

*Baltic amber is very light and warm to the touch and transmits a relaxing smell when worn in your hand.

*We offer a complete range of sizes tailored specifically to our customers needs.

Are they safe?

The teething necklaces are DESIGNED FOR SAFETY of your baby. As a safety feature there is a knot before and after each bead, so that even in the extremely unlikely event of the string being torn, no beads are lost and there is no risk of choking. Our amber teething necklaces are secured with a traditional screw clasp that opens and closes easily.

Check out our matching parent’s amber necklaces for healing .

Care Instructions for your Amber Teething Necklace

*Wash necklace gently with luke warm water.

*Avoid rubbing or scrubbing the necklace.

*If beads come in contact with any harsh soaps or other substances wash immediately with luke warm water.

*Polish the necklace with olive oil to restore its original shine.

*Do not place necklace in direct sunshine or direct heat.

*Ensure that your baby does not chew on the necklace. This will ruin and necklace and weaken the thread. The necklace is meant only for wearing against your baby’s skin.

*If your child has a tendency to pull on the necklace place it under his/her clothing.

Parents have found amber to relieve swollen gums, enflamed cheeks, drooling and nappy rash, and improve their baby’s mood and wellbeing.
