Dinosoles, Capasaurus 3D Dino Hat Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Dinosoles recently sent me one of their Capasaurus 3D Dinosaur hats to review.  These hats are so fun and we received the Stegosaurus style.  Hat features a 3D dinosaur figure, 3D dinosaur eye, rubberized dinosaur footprints, easy velcro adjustment and sized to fit a 3 -6 year old child. From the time my son saw this hat, he could not get it on fast enough.  He loves the Dinosoles’ products and we have done reviews for the shoes and backpacks, so he was excited to have a hat.  The quality is great like the rest of the Dinosoles line.  They have a few different styles so there is a dinosaur to please every little boy.  We like these hats so much we are adding the to our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.

Scrappynaps Reusable Fabric Placemat Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Recently, I was sent a Scrappynaps Placemat to review.  Scrappynaps are reusable fabric placemats that conveniently hold a matching napkin and utensils (utensils not included). These placemats roll up easy and have an attached elastic band to secure them.  I like keeping them in the diaper bag because they roll up small and when we are out eating, I can put them down and my kids can eat on them.  They are messy, especially my two-year-old and I hate to see his food touching a public table, so this mat helps contain most of his food. They come in great prints, I chose the “Beam Me Up” and my son loves it. Scrappynaps take up very little room when they are rolled up, so they are very portable.  I think they would make great stocking stuffers so we are adding them to the Stocking Stuffer section of our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.

A Toy Garden, Multicolored Beeswax Candle Making Kit Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I remember having candle kits when I was younger and making them with my mother.  They were the kind that you needed to be older and have an adult with you, because the wax had to be melted on the stove and things would get very hot.  We made some great memories and loads of floating candles, that we would light on the lake on the 4th of July and throughout the Summer.  While I enjoyed the candle making, it was not for small children and it was messy.

Recently, A Toy Garden sent me their Multicolored Beeswax Candle Making Kit for review.  Now this kit is great because you can do it with even the youngest children.  As long as they can roll they are good to make candles.  I had so much fun making these with my 4-year-old.  I did the cutting with a scissors and a pizza cutter which worked really well.  We talked about the colors, textures, shapes, and other concepts all while making the candles.  He was so proud, I let him choose colors, shapes, height and he had so much fun.  He was the best roller,  I really love this kit because it is so simple and I saw how much my son loved being big enough to make something like a candle. Definitely much less messy than melting wax and pouring wax.  This would be a great craft to do with scout troops, in the classroom or how about a birthday party activity where everyone can make their own candle.

Blue Orange Games, Fastrack Game Review!!!

If you are looking for a fun game that little ones and adults will both have fun playing, then take a look at Fastrack.  I was sent the all wooden Fastrack game from Blue Orange Games for review.  This great game is ready to play right out of the box.  Using the elastic cord, be quick and aim well to be the first to send all of the disks zooming across to the other side.  This fast paced, action game is addictive and you may not be able to stop playing once you start.  A simple and fun game for 2 players ages 5 and up.  This game is great for building hand-eye coordination and dexterity skills in little ones.

I was asked to review a new toy from STEP2.  I was sent the STEP2, My Own Workshop, which is one of three new toys in the My Own series, they also make My Own Bakery and My Own Laundry.  The My Own Workshop is a very compact workshop.  It was very easy to assemble, there really was not much involved at all and no tools were necessary.  Everything is made to store in the cabinet under the workbench for easy travel.  This is a great toy for your child to take on visits, play dates and vacations.  The drill and screwdriver can be fitted with different bits and the drill retracts making it more realistic and fun for the child.  The table saw makes a buzzing sound and lights up, which my son thought was great.  There are nuts and bolts to screw in and out of the wood, bench top and peg board.  This toy is best played with by just one child and the one thing I did not like was the saw guide that was removable.  It really did not fit in anywhere tightly and mostly fell over.  It was not a big deal frankly if it were there or not, I wish though it would have been able to be more securely attached.  Other than that I was satisfied with the bench, it is small but good for a traveling,take and go toy.  Mommy Ramblings is adding this toy to our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.

MindWare Toys, Imaginets Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I am back again with a review from one of my favorite places, MindWare.com. This time I am reviewing Imaginets.  Imaginets will boost your child’s fine motor and visual thinking skills.  Imaginets comes in a sturdy wood carrying case and features durable hinges and rope handles that are perfect for little hands to grasp. Great for travel because everything stores inside.
