Tongs are such a handy kitchen tool. We have several pairs of tongs and use them for so many cooking applications. My 3-year-old can often be found running around with a pair of tongs and “biting” things like an alligator. Some of the uses for tong like frying bacon can leave the tongs greasy and putting them down can leave your counters greasy so the Tovolo 13-inch Tip Top Tongs have a handy little stand built-in so the tongs don’t touch your countertop leaving your tongs and your counter clean.
13-inch tongs open wide for exceptional reach and comfortable stainless steel handle
Extra large end ring for locking and unlocking
Unique silicone tipped head has superior grasping ability and won’t scratch cook wear
Built-in feet” keeps tips up and counter clean
Dishwasher safe for easy clean-up

Probably second to the excruciating pain of a toothache is back pain. Unlike a toothache though that is usually cured after a trip to the dentist, back pain can last for months and even be chronic. It can be debilitating and some conditions like herniated discs can leave one nearly immobile and in pain for months. I suffered from herniated discs after the birth of my fifth child and it was one of the hardest things to bear. I could not sit, I had to either lie on my side or stand, could not get on the floor and play with my kids and the pain and muscle spasms were insanely painful. It lasted months and my normally happy upbeat attitude took a huge hit. Thankfully, my back finally started to get better with physical therapy until it returned to normal. I do know so many people who suffer with back pain and so when I received, Say Goodbye to Back Pain! from Chicken Soup for the Soul Publishing, I thought what a great idea. A message of hope and inspiration is so important for those suffering from great pain.
Inspiring Chicken Soup for the Soul stories and accessible leading-edge medical information from Dr. Julie Silver of Harvard Medical School. Many people suffer from back pain. The lucky ones have occasional flare-ups and the unlucky ones have chronic issues. This book is filled with great advice on how to care for your back, recover from injuries, improve your mobility, handle pain, manage chronic problems, and maintain a positive attitude.
Inside the book you will find preventative exercises to ward off problems, with easy-to-follow instructions and diagrams. Learn how to protect your body every day to maintain good back health, getting the right diagnosis, using your mind to reduce pain and injuries, picking the correct course of treatment and clear explanations and diagram to help you understand your anatomy. You will also learn what to expect during physical therapy, surgery and other procedures.

Going on a vacation with your family is usually very expensive when you have to secure lodging. With big families you can need 2 rooms or more and if you are in a destination area that can get very pricey, then add in the meals, and you are saying goodbye to a good chunk of change. If you are wanting to take a vacation but are looking for a way to streamline your costs, you should consider renting a timeshare.
Timeshare rentals typically cost 50% less than cramped hotel rooms. You can also choose a multiple bedroom unit with large living areas and they almost all have a full size fully equipped kitchen which will help you to be able to prepare some meals there and recognize even more savings. Another great thing is that timeshares often have many more amenities then hotels and you can find them with water parks, pools, hot tubs, arcades, mini golf and playgrounds.
When timeshare owners are unable to use their timeshare weeks, the timeshares become available for rental. Renting out the timeshare is a great option for owners and renters get a great bargain.

Today’s review and giveaway is for Piggy Paint, a water based, non toxic, all natural nail polish that is “as natural as mud.” I was sent bright pink, “Forever Fancy,” purple “Girl’s Rule,” and a bottle of Nail Polish Remover. I was pretty impressed when I got the samples, there was no skimping on quality and vibrancy in order to make this product all natural! The color of the polish is bright and has subtle little eye-catching sparkles! What I was most impressed with, was the absence of the sickening smell you usually get with polish, Piggy Paint is refreshingly odor free!!
My nieces and I had a Piggy Paint party! Everyone was so excited about it, and eagerly lined up to get their piggys painted. The polish goes on very smoothly, leaving no bubbles or bumps. It didn’t take long to dry, so the girls were soon up and running, that is kind of a big deal when it is made for young girls!
One of my favorite things about the nail polish remover, is the child safety lid! I have never seen any other brand of remover instill that precaution on their bottles. The remover is also low odor, contains no acetone, and is also eco-friendly. Piggy Paint was created by Melanie Hurley, mother of 2 girls. Here is the shocking story that lead to her search for non-toxic nail polish and prompted her to create Piggy Paint:
“One day while we were painting nails over a foam plate, my daughter dropped a glob of her solvent-based polish onto the plate. Shortly after, the paint began to bubble and “ate” through the plate. I looked in dismay at the hole in the plate and decided to test all of her other “kid” polishes on the foam. Within minutes, ALL of the solvent-based polishes began to bubble and eventually left big holes in the plate (Click to see plate). From that day on, I decided that any flammable substance that could eat through foam was unacceptable for my children’s fingernails, which would inevitably end up in their mouths.
My quest was on, and Piggy Paint was born. As you may have guessed, our polish is NOT flammable and sits beautifully on the unaffected foam. We hope you enjoy this water-based polish that is specially formulated of natural ingredients. Finally, a kid-friendly polish without the accompanying drawbacks of traditional polishes. It is free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone… and made in the USA!”

I recently received Chicken Soup for the Soul: Messages From Heaven for review. I have to tell you that having lost both my parents, I love when I see signs they are around me. There is a yellow swallowtail butterfly that I see all the time and have consistently year after year, it appears everywhere and sometimes there are two, they circle around my kids, flutter right outside the kitchen window in the morning when I am making my coffee and they are right there whenever I am having a sad moment or am upset.
Well, when my husband brought in the mail he handed me two things, one was an envelope and the other a package. I opened the package and pulled out the Messages from Heaven book and on the cover along with the title was a white picket fence with a butterfly which I thought was pretty neat but then I opened the envelope and it was a sizeable check that I had no idea I was receiving from an advertising account. I stared at the check because it was exactly the amount that was needed for something, then I glanced again at the book and burst into tears. I did not even need to read the book and it had made my day with just the cover. I thought about how God and his angels work in ways to show us that they are watching over us and will care for us until we are all home again. I am sorry if this is sappy and over the top but I have toned things down for this post so be thankful.
So I am sure many of you have experienced the loss of a loved one and perhaps you are wondering about where they are, praying for a sign they are near. This book contains over 101 Miraculous Stories of Signs from Beyond, Amazing Connections, and Love that Doesn’t Die. Read about Grace who never knew she had a brother that died when she was an infant until he came to her in a dream and became her guardian angel. Michelle who was saved from a fatal accident by her late father who spoke to her and made her sit through the green light that kept her from being in the accident. There are so many stories that really speak to us who have experienced or who have hope of experiencing a sign that our loved one is still near, still with us, watching over us always.

It has been a while since we did a cloth diaper review, so I am thrilled to be able to review a Glow Bug diaper for you today! I was asked if I wanted a boy, girl or neutral colored diaper to review, and of course I chose boy. I was tickled pink when I opened the shipping envelope from Glow Bug to find a super cool flame diaper, and two soaker inserts! Now every time I go to change my baby’s diaper, my oldest asks if I am using the “fire” diaper, because it is his favorite!
This Glow Bug diaper is trim, not bulky, it is adjustable for perfect fit from newborn to toddler size, and the fit around his legs is perfect. The diapers are easy to use, just slip the soaker into the pocket and snap it into place. The pocket that is open on both ends allows the soaker to slip out during washing so it gets the maximum amount of cleanliness! The extra leg gussets work great keeping solids in, and there is soft waterproof fabric inside at the back and front to prevent leaks. The inner fabric, Slim Dry, is so soft, and keeps my baby comfortable. I am considering buying a set of these affordable diapers!
I love all the stylish, original prints that Glow Bug diapers use! They are like designer diapers! They come in sets of 12, with either boy, girl or neutral fabrics and colors. Each diaper comes with two soaker inserts, and each set of 12 comes with a matching wet bag! The videos on their website are helpful in showing you how their diapers work, and make it easier for you to decide if they are right for you and your baby!
Glow Bug is sponsoring a giveaway on Mommy Ramblings! One lucky blog reader will win a Glow Bug cloth diaper in their choice of boy, girl or neutral color, valued at $12.50! Thank you Glow Bug for providing this super review diaper and sponsoring this fantastic giveaway!!! Open to US residents.
Fear, spine tingling, leg shaking fear is what we experienced when we heard that sound. The hissing, rattling, unmistakable sound that my mother was using the pressure cooker. Not just any pressure cooker but the biggest, baddest, pressure cooker, handed down to her from her mother. The regulator on this pressure cooker was like a solid steel hockey puck that danced on top of that pot leaving us all wondering if and when it would explode.
My mother always cooked her stuffed artichokes in the pressure cooker, they were always delicious and we couldn’t wait to eat them but the cooking process struck fear in all of us, even my mother. She had a love/hate relationship with the pressure cooker. She loved the way it cooked but she almost seemed deathly afraid and that fear was transferred to all of us kids who my mother would shoo out of the kitchen when it came time to open that pressure cooker. My mother had us all convinced that the pressure cooker was unpredictable and the very act of transfering it from the stove to the sink took a few Hail Marys. When it was safely in the sink and I think after my mother blessed herself with the sign of the cross, she then doused that pressure cooker with cold water for what seemed like hours. When she finally deemed it questionably safe she would again call to us to stay out of the kitchen because she was about to open the pressure cooker.
This was when we all gulped and wondered if this was going to be the time that unpredictable beast was going to explode and sail right up through the roof of our house leaving a gaping hole which the tremendous steam would rise out of, as the neighbors would stand and shake their heads and call the fire department. My mother would be clear across the kitchen, lucky to be alive and breathing heavily, having the wind knocked out of her as the blast shot her clear over to the refrigerator where she landed with a thud. When we saw her pry those locking handles loose and the seal was broken, we finally could breath, knowing that we made it. My mother would tell us all was alright and we could come back in the kitchen. We made it, the pressure cooker had not destroyed our house, and we were soon enjoying the artichokes and could breathe easy until the next time.
Needless to say I have always found pressure cookers intimidating. Even when my mother bought a more modern version it may have had a less intimidating regulator but it still danced and hissed on top of that pot and scared all of us. I never felt the need to put myself or my kids through that so I never thought about getting a pressure cooker. When Nesco asked me if I would like to review their new 6 liter 4-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker, that old fear came right back. My husband though, was stoked, so we agreed to the review. The pressure cooker arrived and it did not bear any resemblance to the terror inducing pressure cookers of my past. It looked quite serene, with a digital touch pad and nothing on the top to dance or hiss.
My husband made a pot roast the first time we used it and he could not believe how quickly it cooked the meat and that it was still tender and falling apart the way it would if it had been cooking for hours. He made another type of roast a few days later and we had the same impressive results. It’s a new day, a new dawn, the pressure cooker is not something to be feared but it is an appliance to be embraced. If you have always wanted a pressure cooker but were living in fear of unstable, hissing pots with gauges that could not be trusted, you can rejoice. Go out and try a Nesco Electric Pressure Cooker and start changing the way the world thinks of pressure cookers one meal at a time, one household at a time, until the world knows that we can pressure cook without fear and have our artichokes too.
The new NESCO® 6 liter 4-in-1 Pressure Cooker is sleek, safe and quiet.
The NESCO® 6 Liter 4-in-1 Pressure Cooker is equipped with several built-in safety features which will not allow the cooker to open while under pressure. The NESCO® 6 Liter 4-in-1 Pressure Cooker is a sealed vessel, As the pressure inside increases, the boiling point of the water increases, which allows the liquid to rise to a higher temperature before boiling so the food cooks up to 70% quicker. Even more impressive, the NESCO® 6 Liter 4-in-1 Pressure Cooker is really four appliances in one: pressure cooker, steamer, slow cooker and rice cooker.
The NESCO® 6 Liter 4-in-1 Pressure Cooker also has a warm setting and browning setting. The warm setting can be manually used or will automatically switch to warm after using a High or Low setting.
