I love bringing you great reviews and the chance to win some great giveaways and that’s a really fun part of blogging. In order to make it possible for these women to continue to earn income during the holiday season, Touchstone Crystal has launched a campaign to assist these women to partner with other women around the country to host holiday parties online. “Cowboy Christmas” by Rob Sanders Review & Giveaway!!!

Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is on its way! Bring on the Christmas books! We recently read a very funny cowboy theme Christmas book. Cowboy Christmas follows some hard-working cowboys who are very afraid Santa is going to forget them while they are hard at work wrangling cattle all day. In the end, Santa definitely remembers them and the book has a heartwarming end. If you are looking for a different Christmas book this is surely one that fits the bill.

Poopendous by Artie Bennett Review & Giveaway!!!

I have to admit I more than laughed when approached by Artie Bennett asking if I would like to review his number 2 book, Poopendous. It is his second book but his number 2 book has a second meaning because the book is about poop. If you have kids, you know that it is not uncommon for poop to be a subject of many conversations so this book is of great interest to them. It is funny but covers all kinds of poop and some interesting facts like monkeys throw poop when they are stressed or that termites build their homes out of poop or that at county fairs cow poop is just great for tossing and how fly poop is just specks. If your children are like mine this book will have great appeal and you will probably be asked to read it again as I was right after the first time. If you are looking for an unusual book, filled with facts about number 2 then this is for you!

Rhyming couplets feature Professor Poopdeck and two young friends as he takes them on a type of poop safari. Words for poop (i.e. guano, number two, ca-ca), its forms and styles (cubes, tubular, wet and dry), and myriad of uses (i.e. souvenirs, a means of tracking and marking, housing insulation, food, fertilizer, fuel) are all conveyed with humor and a certain demand for respect. It’s a book that says: Don’t just flush this stuff away! While it may dismay and stink, there’s more to this stuff than you might think!

I wish I had this dehydrator when my garden was in full swing this summer because it would have been so helpful to dry herbs, and dehydrate vegetables for use later. I really can’t wait to try it out on all that this summer. This dehydrator has 5 drying trays, 2 Clean-A-Screens and 2 Fruit Roll Sheets. It also includes jerky spices. My husband did the testing by following a jerky recipe and using the included spices it was easy and quick and they loved the jerky. I will be updating with fruit rolls but wanted to get this up since time is flying. The unit is easy to clean and very lightweight. I really can’t wait for spring and summer to try drying flowers as well.
