Looster Booster Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I was recently sent a Looster Booster to review.  This ingenious potty stool fits around the toilet so little ones can climb right up and feel safe.  It does not need to be moved out of the way for adults to use the toilet.  My little ones slide it over to the sink to wash their hands too.   It is very easy to keep clean and little ones love to use it.

The Best Coconut Oil, Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe!

If you are ready to try the best chocolate chip cookie recipe made with coconut oil, look no further.  Seriously, everyone I have shared this recipe with raves about it.  They are absolutely one of the easiest and best chocolate chip cookies you will ever make and eat.  So let me show you what to do so you can get baking.

 

 

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies:

  • 1/2 cup virgin coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. sea salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
1. With an electric mixer or stand mixer, beat coconut oil, butter and sugars together until fluffy, 3-5 minutes. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
2. In a small bowl, mix flours, baking powder and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients until a soft dough is formed. Don’t over mix the dough, or the chocolate chip cookies will be tough.
3. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
4. Refrigerate dough at least 30 minutes or up to 24 hours.
5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
6. Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, drop chocolate chip cookie dough onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-15 minutes, until cookies are golden brown around the edges, but still soft inside.
When my husband saw that I was using coconut oil he was skeptical, he does not like coconut.  When they were done I could taste a hint of coconut but the cookies were soft, chewy and delicious.  The true test came when my husband tried them.  He did not mention any taste of coconut but did say they were absolutely delicious and helped himself to a few more.

Dearfoams Tweed Boot Review & Give-Away!!! 3 Winners!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I remember my first pair of Dearfoam slippers, so many years ago.  They were the quilted booty slipper that was so popular then. Dearfoams has come a long way since they began, and this season they have something totally new.  Dearfoams is  introducing their new line of tall fashion boots, that will extend Dearfoam’s comfort and warmth into a new genre of footwear.  They have two great styles and I chose the tweed boot in black to review.  I received them recently and they are so comfortable and warm.  I like that it has a sole because as a Mom, I am always having to run outside or hop in the car and these are great for that.  My 2-year-old likes to pet them, silly boy.  Today the weather has turned considerably cooler and I have been rockin’ these boots all day and my feet are cozy and warm. We are big fans of spreadable butter in this house.  We keep our stick butter for baking and cooking but we buy those little tubs of spreadable butter with olive oil and canola oil for the kid’s toast, bread and waffels.  I was very intrigued when I saw that the Butter Bell Crock will turn a hard stick of butter spreadable and that it can be stored and kept fresh right on the counter.  I was asked to do a review and I gladly accepted.
When I received my Butter Bell Crock I washed it and then I filled it with 1/3 cup of cold water.  I then took a stick of butter out of the refridgerator and put it in pieces in the bell of the crock.  I then fitted the lid back on and left it on the counter all day.  Late in the evening I opened the crock to find that the butter was cool and perfectly spreadable.  I showed my husband and he thought it was pretty neat.  After seeing this for myself I think this is a great item that is really cost effective because it is cheaper to buy the stick butter and make your own spreadable butter.
