Sven Clogs Review And Giveaway!!!

 

Recently, I had the opportunity to pick a pair of Sven Clogs for review.  I worked with Lisa who was just so helpful and when she found out this would be the first time I had ever tried a pair of Sven Clogs, she wanted to make sure we got the correct fit.  In our communication she said she also wanted to send a review pair for my daughter.  Lisa had us trace our feet and mail the tracings in so the right fitting clogs could be made for us.  There are a lot of choices of clogs and even when you settle on a style there are still more choices.  You can pick what color you want the base to be, what color and kind of leather you would like and whether you want a bendable or non bendable base.  After Lisa reviewed our tracings she sent my daughter the T-Strap Clog with the 2 and 3/4 inch heel that she choose with the natural non bendable base and constructed of the black, smooth leather that she had selected.  My daughter loves these clogs, she wears them all the time and gets complements like crazy on them.  They are very comfortable and they are very versatile and she wears them with a multitude of outfits and styles of clothing.

I chose the Biker Strap Clog with the low heal non bendable base in black.  They are constructed of the black Nu Buc leather.  They are very comfortable and well made.  I really like the style and the height is just right for me to wear them with jeans or pants and they really look sharp.

Spin Shades, Revolving Decorative Shades and Night Lights Review and Giveaway!!!

 

I recently had the chance to review some great night lights with revolving shades from Spin Shades.  I was very intrigued as I have never seen anything like this product.   When I was picking out the review shades, I was very impressed at the selection.  They literally have shades to match every decor as well as seasonal shades.  The shade rotates from the warmth of the light bulb as there is a special type spindle that fits over the bulb and allows the shade to rotate.  The unit runs on regular 7 watt light bulbs and the spindle fits right over the bulb and then the shade balances nicely on the tip of spindle.  This is such a neat little night light and makes a great gift.  If you are looking for a night light you can easily change the look of with lots of available shades, check out the Spin Shades Collection of Night Lights.

“A Little Guide To First Communion” Book Review and Giveaway!!!

Well, I really can’t believe it is already the middle of April!  Next month is May, and we know that May is a month filled with many special occasions.  College graduations, Confirmations, and First Holy Communions. First Communion is an important experience for a Roman Catholic child.  I recently had the chance to review a sweet little book by Tracy Young which is entitled, “A Little Guide To First Communion”.  This book is perfect for sharing with your daughter, granddaughter or God-daughter who is preparing to celebrate their First Holy Communion.  The book is about a girl named Seraphina who is going to celebrate her First Communion soon.

The story touches on elements that are very important and on the mind of the children as they prepare for the sacrament.  Seraphina tells her mother about reconciliation and how she is afraid to tell Father Jerome of any of her sins.  Her mother reminds her that Father Jerome is not going to judge her and that there are inner and outer aspects to Communion.  Seraphina and her mother attend a trunk show at their friend’s house to pick a dress for her Communion.  Seraphina becomes giddy with the beautiful white dress with pearls all around the waist and when asked in religious education class about the importance of First Holy Communion, Seraphina answers that you get to wear a pretty dress and get lots of presents.  Seraphina is told that perhaps she should focus on the meaning of Communion and not the fashion element.  She is given an assignment to write an essay on the meaning of First Holy Communion for next week.  The next week the children are told that everyone will have a special role in the ceremony and that since Seraphina wrote such a moving essay that she will be doing one of the readings.  Seraphina practices and practices and although nervous does great and celebrates her special day and receives the sacrament of First Holy Communion.

The second part of the book explains the origins of Communion and how children prepare for it, how different religions celebrate it and the meaning behind the traditional clothing, veils, wreaths and accessories.  It gives the child a look at how this sacrament has been celebrated over the years and the importance of it.

Disney, “JAKE AND THE NEVER LAND PIRATES: PETER PAN RETURNS” DVD and Digital Copy Review and Giveaway!!!

“JAKE AND THE NEVER LAND PIRATES: PETER PAN RETURNS” was released a few days ago on DVD and Digital Cop.  I was fortunate enough to receive a review copy and a whole pirate treasure play kit to have a fun screening with, complete with treasure chest, gold coins, eye patches and treasure maps.

 

Synopsis:

Peter Pan is back––but his shadow is missing! When Peter loses his shadow while playing a game of Catch-Me-If-You-Can, he returns to Never Land to seek help from his kid pirate friend Jake. Embarking on one of his most daring and exciting adventures ever, Jake and his kid pirate pals, Izzy and Cubby, along with lookout parrot Skully, must use teamwork to find Peter’s shadow and return it to its rightful owner. However, their mission is nearly thwarted by the fiendish Captain Hook, and his bumbling first mate Mr. Smee. But bravery and justice win the day and Jake and his Never Land pirate crew once again reveal what it takes to become heroes, in Disney’s “Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns.”

This DVD is so much fun for kids and even parents to watch.  Lots of adventure with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee.   Peter Pan needs to find his shadow and Jake and the gang need to use teamwork to get it back to him.  Great mix of adventure with the Captain Hook and Mr. Smee mixing it up but good prevails in the end and everyone can feel good with this action packed, fun-filled adventure DVD.  My little boys just love watching the crazy antics and all the other episodes on this entertaining DVD and Digital Copy.
