Our family loves fruit, so when I had the chance to review  That’s It. bars, I was all for it.  As a mom I want my kids to eat healthy snacks.  So many snack foods are just processed garbage that is being marketed to our kids and these are the kinds of snacks you always see coupons for, enticing parents to buy them.  Honestly, I have seen a few episodes of “Extreme Couponing” and it just about turns my stomach because most of the “food” these people are hording, I mean stock piling is junk food.  Okay better not get me started on this show.  Back to the review now.

I received an assortment of  That’s It. bars, and it’s as simple as that, the ingredients in the bars are 2 different fruits with nothing else added.  2 Servings of fruit in a tasty, chewy bar.  These are great for quick snacks when walking, hiking, on the go, to put in kid’s lunches.  They are very apt to eat this yummy bar whereas they may not have enough time or room to eat an apple and then a pear during their lunchtime.  I like them because they are so portable, I can put them in my diaper bag and they can stay a few days or a week unlike a pear or peach could, and then I always have a great snack ready.  Perfect for after sports games too!

I love when I discover healthy snacks like this and I wish they would be found in more stores and schools all over.  It is so important to teach our children healthy eating habits and there should always be healthy options available for them to choose from.   That’s It. bars are a great way to keep healthy snacks on hand for growing bodies.

I recently had the opportunity to review Dog Gone Jerky Treats.  With more than a couple of eager taste testers in the household we were sure to get a good opinion.  When they came, I took the packages out of the box and put them on my island counter , they were turned over so the label was down.  A little while later I hear my teenage son call, “Hey Mom, can I have some of this jerky?”  They know now to ask before opening anything since it may be a review item and still need pictures.  I could not help but laugh for a few seconds before explaining that it was for dogs.  Anyway, I enlisted my husband and my little ones to assist with the taste testing process.  My husband led them testers in one at a time to sample the treats.  Sassafras (Sassy) our Maltese thought they were worth dancing for, Zoey and Delilah thought they were yummy and ate them so fast it was hard to get any pictures because the treats were gone before I could click the camera.  Anyway 3 out of 3 of the 4 legged testers gave it 2 paws up!!!

The Holidays are coming fast and these jerky treats would make a great stocking stuffer for dogs that will have tails wagging everywhere.  We like them so much we are adding them to our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.

Meyamo, DIY One-Piece Bodysuit with Iron on Letters Review & Giveaway!!! {Giveaway Ended}

 

When I was young, I remember browsing the spinning racks of personalized bookmarks and pencils, looking for my name. Sometimes my name was not included, and sometimes I was pleasantly surprised that they had it! Times have changed, and you can get almost anything personalized with your name. But even when I was naming my boys, I thought back to those bookmarks and wondered if they would feel left out because their unusual names definitely wouldn’t be found among the most popular names stocked. So I was happy to agree to a review with Meyamo Do it Yourself One-Piece with iron on letters!

 

I received a fun little project package that came with a soft, 100% organic cotton, long sleeve, white shirt with green trim, and 2 full pages of fuzzy transfer letters in matching green! It did not take long to prep the shirt by  ironing it and easily peel off the letters for my son’s name. There were cute little baby symbols and animal shaped letters you can choose from to make the name more fun! I just laid out the letters evenly, and covered them with the included transparent protective sheet and ironed for 1 minute. The letters had set with the ironing and seem to be stuck on very well! This kit was very easy to do from set up to finish and the 6-12 month shirt fits just right on my 10 month old and feels very comfortable. It is a cute way to get a personalized gift for my boys with unique names, and I got many compliments on it at a birthday party we went to!

Splendipity, Snuzzle Me 7 in 1 Cart Cover & Burp Cloths Review and $25 Gift Certificate Giveaway!!!! {Giveaway Ended}

I’ve always been worried about the germs my kids can pick up from the shopping carts at the grocery store. I usually use the sanitizing wipes they provide, but even though I try to wipe every surface, I’m sure to miss many areas in my haste.  Another problem I needed to address, was that my baby always got wet when transporting him in his car seat to and from the car when it was raining. So when I had the opportunity to review a 7 in 1 Snuzzle Me car seat cover and set of burp cloths from Splendipity, I was thrilled!
The 7 in 1 car seat cover can be used as a stroller cover, nursing shawl, car seat shade, swing cover and high chair cover in addition to the car seat cover and shopping cart cover! There is probably a separate product out there for each of these situations, but the Splendipity, Snuzzle Me is the first I have heard of that can be used for all of them.
The Snuzzle Me cover is made out of super soft, 100% organic cotton. It is also reversible, one side is blue, and the other is white. They also come in pink or green, and a lightweight option. I really like that this one product has so many different uses. This makes going out a breeze because you only have to take this one cover and you are set.  It keeps the weather away from my baby when it’s on his car seat, with a little hole for the car seat handle, and allowing me to check on him without having to lift the cover off the seat.
It makes a great cart cover, I am able to put the cover on with one hand which is pretty important since I’m usually holding my baby with my other arm! Using it as a nursing cover is another benefit, the elastic holds it in place so my baby can not pull it off as easily as a blanket! The burp cloths are made of the same soft material as the cover, and shaped just right to lay on your shoulder to protect your shirt from unfortunate spit up!

Undercover Mama, Nursing Shirt Review and Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I was sent an Undercover Mama nursing undershirt a short time ago for review. I was intrigued by how it would work. As a breastfeeding mama, I’ve been waiting for a product like this, but was never able to find anything close until now! This strapless undershirt has little fasteners that are made to hook onto the clips of a nursing bra, so when you unlatch the bra cup to nurse, the tank top comes down with it. It also has small loops of rubber that you can attach it with as well for the bras that won’t work with the clips! Why is this so important? Why can’t I just use a regular tank top, or go without? Using a tank top under my shirt while nursing covers my side up so I can nurse my baby modestly, and using a regular tank top and just pulling it down stretches out the straps and ruins the shirt. They make nursing tank tops, and while those are nice, they don’t offer the support that nursing bras do, and when you are breastfeeding, you need the support! That is why I was so excited to receive this unique Undercover Mama, it offers everything I was looking for as a breastfeeding mother!

The Undercover Mama’s fabric is stretchy and tight, so it is noy baggy under my clothes like some I have tried. It is also long which is a must so that it covers everything while nursing! I got the black shirt, and it goes well with most of my clothes, I like how it covers me modestly when a shirt is too low!

Kidwick Books, “Bad Rats” Book and Audio CD Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Bad Rats CoverI was recently sent, “Bad Rats” Book and Audio CD by Eric Drachman, from Kidwick Books.  This delightful story brings readers to a school for Bad Rats.  The stern Professor Perimeter, starts out explaining to the rats that they are bad, because they follow their heart and not their mind.  He goes on to tell them, our minds are neat but our hearts are messy.  The Bad Rats are not really bad just more creative then their counterparts, they each dream of being an artist.  Professor Perimeter tries to get them to abandon those dreams because they put them in danger.  However, in the story Professor Perimeter discovers his own messy heart and sees the rats as exceptional and not bad.  A heartwarming story that shows children it is okay to be different.  The Audio CD is great to listen to along with reading the story Book is good for ages 4-8.
