Vicky Lansky’s Books, 101 Ways To Tell Your Child “I Love You” & Toilet Training (2 books in one) A Practical Guide to Daytime and Nighttime Training Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I recently was sent 2 of Vicky Lansky’s books to review.  The first one was, 101 Ways To Tell Your Child “I Love You”  This book was newly updated and re-published.  This 124 page book gives you lots of cute ideas to use to tell your child that you love them.  It is so important that our children know we love them.   I really like the ideas in this book such as leaving little notes in unexpected places, hanging red hearts in a doorway, making your child a special, welcome home banner on the first day of school and much more.  This book gives you many ways to say I love you to your child other than just saying the three words.  It is so important for our children’s emotional health to let them know often and in many ways how much we love them.  I really think this is a great little book.

The next book is the revised and updated, Toilet Training, A Practical Guide to Daytime and Nighttime Training.  This book also includes a bonus book, Koko Bear’s New Potty, which is a book for your child.  This book covers how to set the stage for toilet training, recognize readiness, choosing a potty seat, dressing your child for success, dealing with an uncooperative child, handling accidents, how to cope when traveling and much more.  The bonus book, KoKo Bear’s New Potty, is a read-together book that is wonderfully illustrated and includes a great unisex story that will help make toilet training easy and fun.

I was given a gift certificate to purchase something and to get aquainted with the Novica experience.  With so many artisians and places to choose from it was very difficult.  I ended up choosing Pinewood wall art, “Angel of Hope.”  Shaped of pinewood, a beautiful angel brings a message of hope. Woodworkers of Jesus create this beautiful image, painted by hand in radiant color. What a wonderful way to buy beautiful things from skilled artisans all over the world.  This handcrafted angel came with free gift wrap and when I opened it I just loved the colors and the workmanship was beautiful.  This is such a colorful piece and it just makes me happy to see it.  Some beautiful things include Womens Robes, Sarongs and Floral Bracelets.

Fresh Baby, Divided Dish & Baby Bowl Review and Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I like to feed my kids healthy food.  We are big fruit eaters, but it is hard to find healthy snacks when you are on the run a lot.  Most times bags of chips or cookies are readily available, but they are not really healthy choices.  Fresh Baby sent me a divided dish with cover and bowl with cover.  They are stainless steel inside, dishwasher safe. freezer safe and they make it super easy for me to tote along healthy snacks when we are on the go.  I can simply cut up some fresh fruit and pop them in my diaper bag.  Then when the kids are fussy and there are no healthy snacks around, I can pull them out and have happy kids.  I really like that the divided dish is so versatile, the divider is removable for just one item or it can be fit in any of the three notches to divide the dish up into differnt size compartments.  These dishes are also great if you make your own baby food and the stainless steel is easy to clean.  I really like these dishes and highly recommend them.

Bears! Bears! Bears! By Bob Barner Childrens Storybook Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Chronicle Books recently sent me a copy of Bob Barner‘s childrens’ book, Bears! Bears! Bears!, to review.  Storytime is a big deal around here and we are always on the search for great books.  I read this as a bedtime story the other night to my four year old.  This book is an easy read with great colorful pictures and tells young children about the different types of bears, their habbits and where they live.  This book was a great springboard for my son and I to discuss what kind of bears live near us, how big they are, what they eat and their physical characteristics.   It is a great book and I would recommend it for young children.

Trading Phrases Wall Decals Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I was lucky to connect with Trading Phrases Wall Decals recently.  I chose to review a wall decal of 1 Corinthians.  I was able to pick my font colors and I chose violet for everything except the “Love” which I chose burgundy for.  The decal arrived in a cylinder with a burnishing tool, instructions and some test pieces if you are not used to doing this.  I used a masking tape to tape the top to my wall where I wanted it.  We checked it to make sure it was level.  Then my husband and I  (best to have 2 people for a decal this size) carefully lifted up the decal to pull off the backing.  Once we had that off,  we carefully smoothed the decal to the wall and I went to work with the burnishing tool rubbing all the printed areas and getting out any air bubbles.  When this was done I started pulling down from one corner, this needs to be done slowly because if you see anything that is not attached to the wall you just put the paper up to the wall and rub with the burnishing tool and then remove the paper again.  This happened to me on a few dots of an i but it was very easy just to rub it again and it transfered nicely to the wall.  It went very easy and I was quite impressed how well it turned out.  The last step was to put the word “Love” on the wall since that was a separate piece.  I again did the same process and I got great results.  I really love it and I am looking to order more.  The Trading Phrases Website has such a wonderful selections of wall decals.
