Girls4Sport Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

We were recently asked to select a top and bottom to review from GIRLS4SPORT.  We picked the ThermaGuard Long Sleeve Top and the  SupraDry Sport Short Bottom.  My daughter, an avid biker was the product tester.  The fit was great and she the support of the built in shelf bra on the top was wonderful.   She biked 7 miles on a hot and when she was done her clothes were not wet or sweaty.  The fabric breathes and keep you  cool while exercising.  She could not stop raving about it, and this will definitely be her biking attire.

BURBANK, CA, July 28, 2011 – A new soundtrack and DVD inspired by Disney Junior’s #1 series Jake and the Never Land Pirates, are planned to set sail this September with Walt Disney Records’ album release of eighteen hook-filled songs from the series on September 20 and The Walt Disney Studios “Jake and theNever Land Pirates: Yo Ho, Mateys Away!” DVD release featuring seven episodes from the series on September 27.

Jake and the Never Land Pirates is cable’s #1 series among Boys 2-5 and is on track to be Disney Channel’s #1 preschool series ever.  It is the most co-viewed series among all Disney Junior and Nickelodeon series, with 47% of Moms watching with their preschooler.  A music-filled interactive treasure hunt, the series introduces a crew of kid pirates – leader Jake and pals Izzy and Cubby – and follows their Never Landadventures as they work to outwit two infamous characters, the one and only Captain Hook and Smee, from Disney’s classic “Peter Pan.”  Every episode features the animated Sharky and Bones characters as they pop up throughout to perform original pirate ditties, and each episode concludes with a live action music video featuring The Never Land Pirate Band.

About the Album Release:
Written and performed by Loren Hoskins and Kevin Hendrickson, a.k.a. Sharky and Bones of The Never LandPirate Band, the album features 18 swashbuckling tracks sure to thrill any young pirate.  Also included are downloadable activities and games to plan the perfect pirate party, a Sing-Along version of the show’s theme song and a bonus track from a future episode. The deluxe edition includes a pirate bandana.  The album arrives at stores and online retailers September 20.

The album features a variety of songs that kids and parents can enjoy together. Songs include the kooky, comical “Hot Lava,” “Aw Coconuts,” “Pirate Password,” and the arrrghhh-rated “Talk Like a Pirate.” Some songs refer to popular characters in the show, such as “What’s Cookin’ Smee,” “Captain Hook (Is A Cranky Crook),” “Tick Tock Croc” and “Bucky’s Shanty.” Others capture the island spirit of Never Land, such as “Castaway on Pirate Island,” “Shipwreck Shuffle” and “Never Sky,” as well as the “Jake and the Never LandPirates” theme song. All songs can be heard in episodes of the show.

Portland, Oregon-based Hoskins and Hendrickson have been creating pirate rock music for kids of all ages for more than a decade. The duo produced four previous children’s albums and even led their own pirate band.  The pirate rockers also provide the musical score for “Jake and the Never Land Pirates.”

The Jake and the Never Land Pirates soundtrack will be available wherever music is sold on September 20. 

About the DVD Release:
On September 27, The Walt Disney Studios will be releasing Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Yo Ho, Mateys Away!, a DVD packed full with seven episodes from the series and two incredible bonus features including Yo Ho, You Want To Be A Pirate?, where Jake teaches viewers how to talk like a pirate, and Pirate Party With Pirate-oke, a collection of music videos performed by The Never Land Pirate Band that allow viewers to enjoy with or without the sing-along/karaoke-like feature.

Jax LTD, “Doodle Dice” Game Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Here is another great game by Jax LTD that I was sent to do a review on.  Create a ‘doodle’ with a few rolls of the Doodle Dice.  There’s a different doodle pictured on each card in the deck.  Whey you build a doodle that matches one of the cards, you take that card.  Block an opponent’s turn or take one of their cards away.  Collect one card of each color and you win!  It’s the fun, challenging way for everyone in your family to be a ‘doodle artist’!  This game is for ages 6 to Adult and for 2 to 6 players.  This is a great game just about everyone can play and have a fun time.  The game includes: doodle cards, 6 dice, 1 shaker cup, and game instructions.  This game is played with luck and strategy and it is a great group or party game.  This will definitely be a favorite for us on “Family Game Night.”

babypop Designs Super Hero Capes For Kid’s Costumes, Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

My little guys love to pretend they are super heroes.  I love these custom super hero capes because you can customize them for your child and it unlocks a world of imagination and creativity.  I was asked to order a custom cape for a review on Mommy Ramblings from babypop Designs.  I designed the cape for Luke, and ordered a red cape with a lightening bolt, blue letter L and a yellow mask. When I received it, he was thrilled.  He especially loved the mask because he is really into wearing sunglasses and so he immediately said, “My glasses!”  We put the cape on and I had to snap some quick pics because, “Super Luke” had many adventures ahead of him.  The quality of the cape is great and it has a nice Velcro closure at the neck to keep the cape secure.  These capes make great unique gifts for the little ones in your life.  With the holidays quickly approaching, I am sure they would be perfect for the kids on your list.  Take a look and see if you don’t agree.

babychix Review & Gift-Basket Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I recently connected with babychix and was asked to pick some things to review.  I picked the babyopoly blanket and “40 Small Reasons to be Grateful” Book.  The blanket is very soft and cute and a good size at 30″ by 40″.  The printing on it is really funny and this would make a great gift.  The book delivers inspiration through experience. It can be enjoyed by all ages and provides topics to be discussed as a family and with friends. A great read when you need it the most.

Jax LTD, “Hit the Habitat Trail!” Game Review & Give-Away!!!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I have another great game from Jax LTD to tell you about.  “Hit the Habitat Trail!”  is a super fun habitat exploration game for ages 8 – adult and 2 to 6 players.  From the frozen tundra of the arctic to the barren sands of the desert, learn about animals and their environments as you follow the stone trail through the earth’s habitats. Learn about our environment and discover ways to improve it. Answer a knowledge card question correctly and collect one “Habitat Card”. Bridgewater donates a portion of each jar candle sold to Rice Bowls, a non-profit whose mission is to feed orphaned children worldwide. Every jar candle purchased feeds a child for one day. Jax LTD, “SEQUENCE States & Capitals” Game Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Isn’t it great when a really fun game for kids is also educational? I remember as a young child, every Summer my friends and I would play a card game called, “Authors.”  It was a lot of fun, but we were also learning the names of classic authors and the books they wrote.  I remember the beginning of one school year, astonishing one of my teachers with the works of Nathaniel Hawthorne, Charles Dickens and Alfred Lloyd Tennyson.  She was surprised to learn that I had learned it all from a game.  She grilled me for the details and where she could find it, so she could bring it into the classroom.

I was recently sent a great fun and learning game from Jax LTD.  The game, “SEQUENCE, States & Capitals” is for ages 7-adult and for 2 to 12 players.  In this game players travel the USA the SEQUENCE way.  Each card has the name of a capital with its location shown on the state.  Players match the state’s shape and color on the card to the same state shape and color on the board, then place a chip on that space.  When a player has five in a row, it’s a SEQUENCE.  Players of all ages will have fun learning the states and their capitals while enjoying the fun, challenging play of the SEQUENCE game.

Rock N Learn, “Getting Ready for Kindergarten” DVD Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I really like Rock N Learn DVDs and my kids absolutely love them. I have told you about their great DVDs in the past.  Well, they just sent me a new one to review.  They sent me, “Getting Ready for Kindergarten” DVD to review.  This DVD is perfect because Ethan starts Kindergarten next September.  Even though Luke is 2 he still enjoys this DVD as much as his brother.  This DVD teaches little ones the skills they will need to start kindergarten.  This DVD is full of fun songs, animated characters and real children.  This is a favorite DVD in our home and is very requested to watch.
