Our Painted River Rock Creations!!! Rock Painting Tutorial

If you have been reading out blog for a while you know that I love painting river rocks that we “hunt” for along the Delaware and Beaverkill Rivers.  This year I also started picking up truck loads of huge river rocks for a landscaping project I am working on.  More on that soon.  I wanted to share some of what I have been working on so far this summer.

I have a neat project I am almost done with and will show you soon, it’s a great idea for someone who loves plants but has a brown thumb.

If you want to try this, it’s easy.  Just collect your rocks, paint and seal them with Mod Podge.  I just use craft paint you can find in any craft store or even Walmart.  Also, for details you can use the Elmer’s Painter Pens.  Share with me if you try this, I would love to see your creations!

After School Snacks Made Quick & Easy With Bagel Bites and Delimex!!! #AfterSchoolSnacks

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser.  All opinions are 100% my own.  #CollectiveBias

My little boys make me laugh, they love to dress in costumes.  Their costumes get a lot of mileage around this house and I think their stash would out weigh any girl with a trunk full of princess garb.  My boys have every superhero costume, police costumes, army costumes, fireman costumes and so many more.  My boys play hard and they have superhero size appetites that seem to strike all at once.  My five-year old usually says, “I’m so hungry, I’m starving, I have to eat right now!”  When he gets to that point, he needs to eat fast but I also want to make sure it is nutritious.

Bagel Bites and Delimex fit both those criteria, they are fast, nutritious and easy to make snacks.  Parents can feel good knowing Bagel Bites are  made with real cheese, homemade sauce and 0g trans fat.   With school back in session soon, Bagel Bites and Delimex make the grade for quick, tasty after school snacks!

Bagel-Bites-Delimex-#Shop-#CollectiveBias-#AfterSchoolSnacks

I keep our freezer filled with them and just recently went to my local Walmart to stock up.  I bought Three Cheese and Cheese & pepperoni  Bagel Bites along with Delimex white meat Chicken  & Cheese Taquitos and Beef & Cheese Taquitos.  There are more varieties to choose from and they are conveniently located in the frozen food section.  Click HERE to save $1 on Delimex!  Click HERE to save $1.50 on Bagel Bites and Browse Some Recipes!

When you are ready to make them, you can choose to cook them in a conventional oven or the microwave.  The microwave option is great for older kids who are able to use the microwave to prepare a tasty after school snack by themselves.

So far today my kids have been Captain America, The Hulk, Army Men and changed back into The Hulk before going to bed.  They had super hero capers to solve, wars to win and bad guys to capture.  Being the mom of these super busy boys, I am so glad I don’t have to be a superhero to make  them a satisfying snack served fast. I like to have the boys take part in adding some colorful veggies to their bagel bites.  I cut up yellow and red heirloom tomatoes, multi color sweet peppers and put out sliced mushrooms and olives for them to add.

Tommee Tippee’s Fiesta Fun Time, Color Collection Bottles Make Baby’s World Brighter!!!

Tommee Tippee Twitter Fiesta Fun Time

As a Tommee Tippee Mommee and ambassador for the brand, I am excited to let you know about a great new collection of brightly colored, Closer to Nature bottles.  The Fiesta Fun Time Collection of Closer to Nature bottles combine the features you want with colors to make baby’s world a little brighter.

Tommee Tippee Fiesta Fun Time

The limited edition set of six bottles is available now on Amazon.com.  I just love the bright colors, the set is like a rainbow!  The Closer To Nature bottles have a revolutionary nipple to mimic the breast’s natural flex, the compact shape of the bottle allow for more natural feeding and for baby to be closer to mom or dad, the slow flow nipple and easi- vent valve eliminate excess air flow, bottles are BPA free and easy to clean.  Now you can turn feeding time into a party and color baby’s world with fun!

Closer To Nature Bottles Feature:

Revolutionary nipple

Revolutionary nipple developed with breastfeeding experts and moms to mimic the breast’s natural flex, stretch and movement, closer to nature bottles makes feeding time easier for mom and baby. The soft silicone nipple feels like skin, and gently elongates and flexes during feeding to mimic natural breastfeeding action.

3 way Compact Shape

The compact shape of Closer to Nature bottles allows baby to feed in a natural position and to be closer to mom or dad. The easy hold bottle can be held in 3 ways–cradled comfortably in the hand, gripped in the same way as a traditional wide neck bottle, or held from the base.

Super Sensitive Easi-Vent valve

The slow flow nipple with a super sensitive valve eliminates excessive air flow, so little ones ingest more milk and less air.

Easy to Clean & Use

Closer to Nature bottles and nipples are easy to clean and fill. They are microwave and dishwasher safe, yet light and easy to hold. The easy hold bottle is marked in millimetres and ounces and has a hygiene seal cap to keep germs out and drips in.

Breast like Shape

The soft silicone nipple feels like skin, and gently flexes during feeding to mimic natural breastfeeding action. The breast like shaped nipple allows baby to latch on easily and further supports the transition between bottle and

breast.

Costume Discounters, Kids Junior Police Costume Review!!!

Costume-Discounters-Logo-Mommy-Ramblings

My kids are obsessed with costumes.  Costumes are not something that are thought about around Halloween, but occur daily with my little guys. Most of the time you will find superheros of all kinds, firemen, army men, tigers and more around our house.  They absolutely adore dressing up in costumes, so when we had an opportunity recently to review a policeman costume from Costume Discounters, they were in their glory.

kids-junior-police-suit-costume

We picked the Kids Junior Police Costume and it’s a very impressive costume, runs true to size and is constructed of high quality clothing material that holds up to the day-to-day dress up fun it gets in this house!  The costume comes complete with hat, handcuffs, badge, radio, billy club, belt and whistle.  All kids need is their imagination and they are off to solve capers, crimes and enforce the law in your very own yard.

Kids Junior Police Suit Costume

Every boy has a dream of becoming a policeman and keeping the bad guys off the street. The Jr. Police Costume includes: A one piece suit (shirt/pants) with official-looking patches and a cap with an attached badge. What’s a member of the force without all his accessories? A duty belt, with a radio, baton, handcuffs, gives you the tools for the job. A whistle, ID wallet, and a shirt badge really authenticate this design. Ever let your kid run loose in the house with laws? He’ll be giving you a ticket each time you pick your nose or forget to flush the toilet…and what better way to teach him to respect the law than allow him to set the laws in the house! Or reinforce them at least! Enforce the law and keep the public safe as an honorable police officer. Stop in the name of the law! Just like the real thing! The beat on the streets is that there’s a new sheriff in town! Walking the beat for a sweet candy treat!

Save Now!!!

Costume Discounters is having a sale now and you can save 20% on orders of $29 or more by using the discount code 29Save when you checkout. Oh and if you really like Police News you can click on that link for lots of police info, products and more.

Blast Zone, Rainforest Rapids Inflatable Review and Magic Castle Bounce House Giveaway!!!

BlastZoneLogo

We recently reviewed Blast Zone’s Rainforest Rapids Wet or Dry Inflatable with Slides.  First let me say we are huge Blast Zone fans and our kids spend the entire late spring, summer and early fall in their inflatables.  This is our Fifth Inflatable from Blast Zone and I can tell you they are very high quality and all 5 are going strong!

Blast Zone Rainforest Rapids

Blast Zone Rainforest Rapids 2

We live on a lake and we have all the kids coming over to use them and they hold up to all the abuse the kids can dish out.  We were very impressed with the Rainforest Rapids Inflatable, it was a cinch to set up, just like all the Blast Zone inflatables we have and super easy to attach the tubes for the water.  We have been using it for several weeks and I will tell you that it is so easy to maintain.

What my husband and I do to make things really easy is that we purchased very large, high quality tarps that we put under our inflatables.  It keeps them clean and you can deflate them and then wrap the tarp around the inflatable for a cover if rain is coming and the next day uncover and inflate.  The kids go from bouncing to sliding to splashing and swimming with ease and squeals of delight.

The unit keeps them cool and active all day and they have so much fun.  It is the first thing turned on in the morning and literally not turned off until dark during the Summer.  I think these units are a great investment for families because they are like having a water park in your yard and are great for birthdays and parties too!

“Count on the Subway” Book Review & Giveaway!!!

random house kids logo

Count on The Subway by Paul DuBois Jacobs and Jennifer Swender is a delightful children’s book that tells what it’s like to ride the subway counting all the way.  My little ones love this book especially since they hear all about the subway from their sister who attends school near NYC.

This book was very timely since she will be graduating in a few weeks and was hired as a GIS Analyst with New Jersey Transit.  So trains, subways and everything transportation is big around here.

So if you have a MetroCard of if you have never stepped foot on a subway, this book is a ticket to ride for all.  Everyone can experience a taste of navigating through NYC on this counting adventure!

Count on the Subway

1 MetroCard, Momma and me.
Down 2 flights—to catch the 3.
4 turnstiles, singers 5.
A rumble, a screech . . . the train arrives!

This bright, young counting book is a delightful trip through the New York City subway system. Hand in hand, child and mother see colorful subway signs and funny passengers, watch trains screeching by, and make new friends. With bold illustrations and a playful, rhyming text, this is not only a counting book, but also a tribute to New York and a sweet story of a child and parent navigating the city together.
