Blue Orange Games, Fastrack Game Review!!!

If you are looking for a fun game that little ones and adults will both have fun playing, then take a look at Fastrack.  I was sent the all wooden Fastrack game from Blue Orange Games for review.  This great game is ready to play right out of the box.  Using the elastic cord, be quick and aim well to be the first to send all of the disks zooming across to the other side.  This fast paced, action game is addictive and you may not be able to stop playing once you start.  A simple and fun game for 2 players ages 5 and up.  This game is great for building hand-eye coordination and dexterity skills in little ones.

Boddler® Bites, “Food in a Flash”, Flash Cards Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Boddler® Bites, Food in a Flash, Flash Cards solves this common problem of what to feed children, that is both quick and nutritious. Parents are given simple meal and snack ideas, while on the flip-side, Boddlers (older babies + younger toddlers) can learn their ABC’s and identify wholesome foods they will be eager to eat. Bring these flash cards to your supermarket to create a fun and educational shopping experience. Boddler Bites helps your child develop a life-long love for nutritious and natural foods. There’s no better gift for parents or children!

I received a review sample of Boddler Bites and I think it is so neat.  My 2-year-old loves looking at letters and showing off his knowledge, so just these cards alone on the ring are great.  Add to that, you can talk about the foods that begin with the letter, get some healthy food inspiration and let your child identify the foods on the card while you are shopping.  Great to carry in your diaper bag or purse and let your child have this while riding in the cart at the grocery store, you child will stay busy and have fun pointing out the foods he sees on the card and matching them to the real thing in the store.

Mommy Ramblings thinks Boddler® Bites, Food in a Flash, Flash Cards makes a great stocking stuffer for the little ones in your life so we are adding it to our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.

STEP2, My Own Workshop Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I was asked to review a new toy from STEP2.  I was sent the STEP2, My Own Workshop, which is one of three new toys in the My Own series, they also make My Own Bakery and My Own Laundry.  The My Own Workshop is a very compact workshop.  It was very easy to assemble, there really was not much involved at all and no tools were necessary.  Everything is made to store in the cabinet under the workbench for easy travel.  This is a great toy for your child to take on visits, play dates and vacations.  The drill and screwdriver can be fitted with different bits and the drill retracts making it more realistic and fun for the child.  The table saw makes a buzzing sound and lights up, which my son thought was great.  There are nuts and bolts to screw in and out of the wood, bench top and peg board.  This toy is best played with by just one child and the one thing I did not like was the saw guide that was removable.  It really did not fit in anywhere tightly and mostly fell over.  It was not a big deal frankly if it were there or not, I wish though it would have been able to be more securely attached.  Other than that I was satisfied with the bench, it is small but good for a traveling,take and go toy.  Mommy Ramblings is adding this toy to our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.

STEP2 is sponsoring a give-away!!!  One lucky winner will win a new My Own Workshop.  Thank you STEP2 for the review toy and for sponsoring this great give-away on Mommy Ramblings!!!  Open to residents of the 48 contiguous US States.

MindWare Toys, Imaginets Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I am back again with a review from one of my favorite places, MindWare.com. This time I am reviewing Imaginets.  Imaginets will boost your child’s fine motor and visual thinking skills.  Imaginets comes in a sturdy wood carrying case and features durable hinges and rope handles that are perfect for little hands to grasp. Inside, brightly colored magnetic blocks can be arranged on the boards to replicate any of the 50 full-color design challenges, including animals, faces, vehicles, sports, structures and more. Plus, the magnetic board surface doubles as a dry-erase board, so kids can decorate a backdrop for their creations!

The Imaginets play set is awesome.  Kids and adults for that matter, love magnets.  My kids could play for hours with this.  It introduces geometry skills too!!!  Imaginets is great for the home or classroom.  It is a quality built toy that will grow with and challenge your child. Great for travel because everything stores inside.

Mommy Ramblings thinks Imaginets is an awesome play set and we are adding it to our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.

MindWare Toys, Pattern Play Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I always thought I had the “Math Gene” until I met my husband.  I mean I always excelled in Math and really loved it, but my husband is a mathematical genius and he has his masters in mathematical sciences so I pale in comparison to him.  We both love toys and games that stimulate our children in learning mathematical concepts in a fun challenging way.  When I was asked to review some things from MindWare Toys, I was in Heaven.  I picked Pattern Play because it is a great introduction to math concepts like sorting, matching, symmetry, congruence and fractions. This high-quality set fits just-so into its wood tray, with vibrant colors and unusual shapes that build spatial skills. Includes 40 exceptionally well-finished wood blocks, a 10.5″-square wood building tray, 40 Pattern Cards and a drawstring canvas storage bag.

This set can be used from toddlers right on up.  It has the capability to be as challenging as you make it.  It truly is a learning toy that will grow with your child.  Your child will learn important math concepts that will be the foundation to build upon throughout their lives.  I may be a little geeky but I love toys like this because there are so many ways to use them and they are so stimulating to your child.  This set is superior quality and is great for the home or classroom.

Mommy Ramblings loves Pattern Play so much, we are adding it to our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.  Pattern Play makes the perfect gift for just about any child on your gift list.

MindWare is sponsoring a give-away on Mommy Ramblings.  One lucky blog reader will win their own Pattern Play Set.  Thank you MindWare for the review Pattern Play and for sponsoring this great give-away on Mommy Ramblings!!!  Open to residents of the contiguous 48 US States.

KOR Delta 500 Hydration Vessel Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I was recently sent a couple of KOR Delta 500 Hydration Vessels to review.  KOR Delta incorporates everything we’ve learned about the art of high style, high performance hydration. It’s an on-the-go vessel with a confident personality and groundbreaking new features. The versatile Delta features an easy-to-open, push button cap with ergonomic handle, KOR’s Perfect Spout™, and a new safety latch for worry-free closure. The cap and vessel separate with a simple twist for easy cleaning.

The first thing you might notice about the KOR Delta is its distinctive handle, which represents our visual tribute to the ancient Greek symbol for change (Δ). We’re all striving for positive change in our lives and the world. KOR seeks to change our perception of water: to celebrate and treasure water for its role in life. What change are you seeking?

  • Includes 2 KOR Stones in cap for personalization
  • Weight: 6.1 oz.
  • Capacity: 500 mL (16.9 oz.)
  • Dimensions: 9.75″ tall, 3.0″ wide, 2.66″ deep at base
  • Materials: Eastman Tritan™ (vessel body/trim); POM plastic (button/latch); GLS TPE(seal, cap cover, bottom pad)
This BPA Free water bottle is great to keep with you when exercising or on the run to make sure you are staying hydrated.  It is super easy to use and clean. What I really like is that this vessel is a great option if you are drinking protein shakes or a similar thick drink that will have trouble going through the straw or make it hard to clean the straw and valve mechanisms.  With this Delta 500, you just flip open and drink.  My husband drinks protein drinks on the go all the time and this bottle is perfect for him.  I like it so much I am adding it to our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide under Stocking Stuffers.

Oransi, Blue Robby Wash Laundry Ball Pack Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I was recently asked to review the Blue Robby Wash Laundry Ball Pack from Oransi.  The Blue Robby Wash Laundry Ball Pack is designed to be used in both cold and hot water for 12 months on average with softness and colors maintained.  Does not require any additional detergent to clean clothes or odor removal detergents to get your laundry smelling fresh. Works with both front load and top load washing machines.  The pack includes the blue washing ball, a stain stick and three extra packets of macro-molecule pellets.

I was curious to see how this would work.  The pellets in the ball sure did smell good, but could they clean?  To test it, I did a load in our front loader.  I put my 2-year-old’s blanket in with the other things.  Now my son is Linus, and he takes his blanket everywhere.  It was in need of a wash and would definitely test the power of the Robby Wash Ball.  I put it in with the clothes and ran a normal cycle on the washer.  When it was done, I was impressed with how clean, bright and soft the blanket was.  It was super clean, no hit of dirt, chocolate milk, and whatever else was on it.  After drying it I gave it to Luke and he gave it the smell and softness test and it passed with flying colors.  It did not leave the clothes with a perfume or heavy smell.  Everything just smelled clean without any strong fragrance.  I am looking forward to using the Robby Ball and if you are trying to cut down on waste and save money, you should give it a try.

I think the Blue Robby Wash Laundry Ball Pack from Oransi is a great option to conventional laundry detergent.  I am happily adding it to our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide under Products to Help You This Holiday Season!!!

Technical Specifications

  • French Technology – worldwide patent
  • Net weight: 0.4 lbs
  • No phosphates or chlorine
  • RoHS lead free directive certified
  • Washes: 120 washes with pack (*use 2 balls with over-sized washing machines)
  • Warranty on ball: 90 days
  • Contents: blue wash ball loaded with macro-molecule pellets, a stain stick, 3 extra packets of macro-molecule pellets
  • Ultra high efficiency laundry solution – no need to add any laundry detergent
  • Hypoallergenic and great choice as a baby laundry detergent cleaner
  • Washer Temp: use in temperatures up to 180F
  • 10 ounces of macromolecules are equivalent to more than 1200 ounces of powder detergent
  • Reusable: ball can be used for 2-3 years
  • Light fragrance for a feeling of freshness at the end of the wash cycle
  • Safe to use with bleach however we recommend using our included stain stick for stain removal or a salt cleaner as this will not damage the fibers in your laundry like bleach can.
  • Note: Do not place the washing ball in the dryer as this could damage the washing ball and reduce its effectiveness

Passes the smell test.
