VeggieTales: Robin Good and His Not-So-Merry Men DVD Review & Giveaway!!!

My kids love VeggieTales so when we had the opportunity to review VeggieTales: Robin Good and His Not-So-Merry Men DVD, we were excited.  This DVD is a fun parody that features plenty of high-energy, family friendly music, including a new Silly Song with a theme that was selected through a recent online fan contest. The episode also includes the animated short, “Lenny & the Lost Birthday,” which also helps teach lessons about handling hurt and forgiveness.

DVD Synopsis
A long time ago, in the faraway town of Bethlingham, roved a band of merry men, led by the fearless RobinGood. Their mission: to help people by fundraising from the rich and giving to the poor!  But when a greedy Prince starts stealing the townspeople’s hams, donations are down and Robin’s friends take off and decide to give robbing from the rich a try. Feeling rejected, Robin thinks things can’t get any worse, until he finds out that the ham-hoarding Prince has also captured his friends. Can Robin overcome his own hurt, rescue his friends and restore the townspeople’s hope?  Find out in this fun Veggie story where kids learn that there’s no hurt too big for God!
If you little ones are like mine, they will love this DVD and you will love the great values and morals it teaches our children through a fun filled adventure they will love to watch again and again.  This is a must have for any VeggieTales fan!

There are lots of handy pockets and compartments like the one at the waist where you can keep a wallet, cellphone or keys so they are handy and accessible.  There is even a compartment to hold a sleeping bag, gear loops are a great thing to have and the main cargo can be accessed from the top, bottom or middle.

I recently connected with getabettie.com and was asked to pick something out on getabettie.com to review.  I chose the Westminster Eva because I liked the colors and the adorable dogs.   When this tote bag came I was floored with the size.  It is so huge that it is almost comical.  The reason I find it so amusing is that there has never been a bag that I have ever considered “too big” because I am one of those people who likes a big bag.  I use a diaper bag that is marketed as great for a weekend getaway for everyday.  I have never been one that just travels with a small clutch.  When I saw this bag so many things went through my head.  I recalled the scene from “Crocodile Dundee”  and replayed it in my mind with a tote bag instead of a knife.  “You Call That A Tote Bag?  This Is A Tote Bag!”  I also thought about what a great gag it would be to take it on the airline as my purse.  Then as I made my way to my seat and had it over my shoulder it would knock everyone in the aisle seat on their head.

We recently received this DVD to review and my three-year-old and four-year-old were immediately asking to watch it.  They loved it, and were hysterical when the dogs tried to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and told us that the dogs made a huge mess.  They loved watching all the episodes and seeing the different personalities of the dogs.   A special feature on the DVD teaches kids how to draw Lucky.  We really delighted in how the kids were really laughing at these episodes and it is not painful for parents to watch along with their kids.

Lotus Bumz Cloth Diaper Review and Giveaway!!!

 

I was recently sent a Green Starlight Lotus Bumz diaper to review! The waterproof outer fabric has a cute green and white star design, and has a silky soft feel, unlike any of the other waterproof diaper materials I have come across! I love the feel of it! The inside material is so soft and cuddly, my baby seems to find it comfortable. The diaper is a pocket diaper, where you tuck the insert inside a the pocket between the waterproof fabric and inside fabric, it was easy enough to stretch the elastic pockets and fit the insert in nicely, with no bunching of the soaker. The elastic kept the soaker in its place and it didn’t poke through the opening like some do. The insert is made of 3 absorbent layers of micro fiber material. This diaper is a one size, and has the adjustable rise snaps so you can use them on babies from 9-30lbs! They also provide you with plenty of waist snaps to allow you to get the best fit!  It fit well on my 20lb baby, no gaping in the legs nor did it leave red marks, and a nice fit on the waist. Like I said, he seemed to find it comfortable, and I loved his fluffy, silky bum! It has hip snaps to prevent the sides from drooping, and they did their job well! The Lotus Bumz diaper is trim and effective, and there was no leaking, the micro fiber insert did well at absorbing everything, and the inner material wicked the wetness away from his skin, leaving him dry and comfortable!

Freshpet Ready To Bake Cookies For Dogs Review and Giveaway!!!

I was recently contacted by Freshpet regarding the launch of their new Ready To Bake Cookies for Dogs.  Of course with 3 canine babies in our family we were thrilled to try them out.  We were sent a nice package that included an apron and soft sided cooler that had the cookies inside with ice packs to keep them cold.  We received Peanut Butter and Oatmeal and Cranberry Recipes.  The Cookies are already formed and you just place them on the cookie sheet and flatten a bit with your palm.  Then you bake them in the oven until golden brown and remove to a cooling rack to cool completely.  The baked cookies can be stored in an airtight container for 14 days but believe me they won’t last 14 days here.  When they were cool we let the eager taste testers have a taste test.  All 3 product testers gave both varieties 4 paws up for taste.  They absolutely loved them.  The really funny thing is they smelled so good when baking that my two little guys came in and told me they wanted a cookie as I was taking them out and thought I was kidding when I told them they were dog cookies.  My three-year old said he wanted to eat one anyway, but I told him  that I would make them some cookies.  Afterwards, I made cookies for them and had them all in containers on the island counter.  Well, my daughter came home later that evening and as she took a seat on the couch next to me she said, “Mom, what kind of cookies are these?”  When I looked over at her with a half eaten cookie in her hand, I burst out laughing.  It took me a moment to get the words out of my mouth but I told her she was eating the dog cookies I was reviewing.  It was quite funny for all of us and she said they actually tasted pretty good.  I went to the website and saw that another customer could not resist taking a bite when baking them for her dogs because they smelled so good, so I let my daughter know she was not the only human who had sampled them.

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review the Eternity Circle Charm Necklace from A Charmed Life Designs.  This 1 1/4″ hand stamped sterling silver open heart washer necklace can be personalized with your choice of names or words. Each piece is hand stamped and will be custom-made for you.   In the center hangs a gorgeous sterling silver puffed heart charm.  I had the Circle personalized with the names of my five children. Recently, I had the opportunity to review a pair of  leather shoes from the Augusta Baby Collections.  I received a pair of 100% leather soft soled baby shoesand was very pleased with the quality. The leather is super soft, blue and orange color with a bright yellow backhoe sewn on the front, the soft leather soles are a natural brown. They design of the shoes are ingenious, with elastic around the ankle it allows enough stretch to get it on my baby’s foot with ease. My baby seemed to find them very comfortable and enjoys walking around in them, and has great non-slip traction! He can wear socks with them too to keep his feet toasty warm. The size I received allows extra room for growing, while still staying on and fitting him well. He just started walking, and these shoes are acting as a training step that allows him to learn to balance while wearing shoes. Eventually he will be walking with confidence in regular soled shoes!
