STEP2, My Own Workshop Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I was asked to review a new toy from STEP2.  I was sent the STEP2, My Own Workshop, which is one of three new toys in the My Own series, they also make My Own Bakery and My Own Laundry.  The My Own Workshop is a very compact workshop.  It was very easy to assemble, there really was not much involved at all and no tools were necessary.  Everything is made to store in the cabinet under the workbench for easy travel.  This is a great toy for your child to take on visits, play dates and vacations.  The drill and screwdriver can be fitted with different bits and the drill retracts making it more realistic and fun for the child.  The table saw makes a buzzing sound and lights up, which my son thought was great.  There are nuts and bolts to screw in and out of the wood, bench top and peg board.  This toy is best played with by just one child and the one thing I did not like was the saw guide that was removable.  It really did not fit in anywhere tightly and mostly fell over.  It was not a big deal frankly if it were there or not, I wish though it would have been able to be more securely attached.  Other than that I was satisfied with the bench, it is small but good for a traveling,take and go toy.  Mommy Ramblings is adding this toy to our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.

MindWare Toys, Imaginets Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I am back again with a review from one of my favorite places, MindWare.com. I always thought I had the “Math Gene” until I met my husband.  I mean I always excelled in Math and really loved it, but my husband is a mathematical genius and he has his masters in mathematical sciences so I pale in comparison to him.  We both love toys and games that stimulate our children in learning mathematical concepts in a fun challenging way.  When I was asked to review some things from MindWare Toys, I was in Heaven.  I picked Pattern Play because it is a great introduction to math concepts like sorting, matching, symmetry, congruence and fractions. This BPA Free water bottle is great to keep with you when exercising or on the run to make sure you are staying hydrated.  It is super easy to use and clean. What I really like is that this vessel is a great option if you are drinking protein shakes or a similar thick drink that will have trouble going through the straw or make it hard to clean the straw and valve mechanisms.  With this Delta 500, you just flip open and drink.  My husband drinks protein drinks on the go all the time and this bottle is perfect for him.  I like it so much I am adding it to our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide under Stocking Stuffers.

Oransi, Blue Robby Wash Laundry Ball Pack Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I was recently asked to review the Blue Robby Wash Laundry Ball Pack from Oransi.  The Blue Robby Wash Laundry Ball Pack is designed to be used in both cold and hot water for 12 months on average with softness and colors maintained.  Does not require any additional detergent to clean clothes or odor removal detergents to get your laundry smelling fresh. Works with both front load and top load washing machines.  The pack includes the blue washing ball, a stain stick and three extra packets of macro-molecule pellets.

I was curious to see how this would work.  The pellets in the ball sure did smell good, but could they clean?  To test it, I did a load in our front loader.  I put my 2-year-old’s blanket in with the other things.  Now my son is Linus, and he takes his blanket everywhere.  It was in need of a wash and would definitely test the power of the Robby Wash Ball.  I put it in with the clothes and ran a normal cycle on the washer.  When it was done, I was impressed with how clean, bright and soft the blanket was.  It was super clean, no hit of dirt, chocolate milk, and whatever else was on it.  After drying it I gave it to Luke and he gave it the smell and softness test and it passed with flying colors.  It did not leave the clothes with a perfume or heavy smell.  Everything just smelled clean without any strong fragrance.  I am looking forward to using the Robby Ball and if you are trying to cut down on waste and save money, you should give it a try.

Activeion HOM, General Purpose Cleaning System Review!!!

If you are a regular reader of Mommy Ramblings, you probably know I am a serious germophobe.  I love when I can review cleaning products and gadgets.  I was recently sent the Activeion HOM to review. The Activeion HOM™ is a great general-purpose cleaner. It can be used to clean soils, stains, dirt, dust, oils and more. The Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI) at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, tested Activeion technology against some of the leading chemical cleaners. The results – Activeion cleans as well as, or in some cases, better than, the general-purpose and specialized chemical cleaners selected for testing.  When used as directed, the Activeion HOM™ kills H1N1 and more than 99.9%* of most harmful bacteria (E. coli, VRE, Salmonella, Pseudomonas, Staph, Listeria, and E. coli 0157:H7) on nonporous hard surfaces with a 6-second spray.  With chemical cleaners you may think that you are wiping away and removing any harmful chemicals, but the fact is, those cleaners leave behind a chemical residue that is potentially dangerous to your family. Activeion leaves behind only water. And water simply evaporates.

I really like the Activeion HOM, it is super easy to use because you just charge the unit itself.  When the unit is charged you add regular water and clean, there is no waiting for it to process or anything.  You are good to go.  The other thing I like is how the water is dispensed in a power like mist spray that lets you cover surfaces quickly and completely.  I really like knowing that germs are killed but I am not leaving any chemical residue behind.  I like to bake and I use my stone counters for rolling dough and kneading, so I want to know they are squeaky clean but I don’t want to use chemical cleaners because of what they may leave behind.  The Activeion HOM is excellent for this.  I can spray my large island in seconds wipe and then sanitize the surface and know that my cookies and breads will not have any harmful chemicals in them.  It is great for cleaning the bathroom because you can easily put the sanitizing water spray on the surface of the tub, tile, counters, toilet and more.  Then you know all the germs are killed before you even wipe it down.  Not only will the Activeion HOM save you money, it is so much healthier for your family and the environment.

The cards I ordered were packaged in a stiff cardboard envelope to keep them safe during mailing. The cards were great, store-bought quality, not like my homemade cards have been, with gritty pictures on flimsy paper.
