I was recently sent a Mother Goose Club DVD and 2 CDs to review.  We had a rainy day and took advantage of gathering around and watching the DVD.  The boys enjoyed it very much.  It was filled with great characters and familiar nursery rhymes and songs.  The CDs are loaded with great nursery rhyme songs your child will love to sing along with.   Nursery rhymes help children learn to read. Research has shown that familiarity with Mother Goose and other nursery rhymes helps children develop pre-reading skills, including the ability to detect rhymes. Children who can recognize rhyming words learn to read more quickly and successfully than their peers. Good Nite Lite Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I was recently sent a Good Nite Lite to review.  We placed it in our 4-year-old’s room and he absolutely loves it.  This nite lite has a clock on the back that parents can set, so the nite lite turns into a blue moon at night and a bright yellow sun in the morning.  Children recognize the change from moon to sun as a signal that it is time to get up.  Ethan still tells me in the morning how the nite lite changed and that it will get blue when it is dark outside and time to go to bed.  It is quality made and adorable to boot.   You can place it in its stand on a bed side table or plug directly into an outlet.

“You Are a Gift to the World” Flip Sided Book by Laura Duksta Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I was recently sent the book, “You Are a Gift to the World” by New York Times Bestselling Author, Laura Duksta to review.  This large beautifully written and illustrated book is actually 2 books.  The first book reads to the middle and then you flip it over and the other side is a book titled, “The World is a Gift to You.”  Like love this flip sided book never ends.

I read this to Luke and Ethan this evening and they just loved it.  They were very interested in the illustrations by Dona Turner and the words were beautiful for a parent to read to their children.  After we finished, Ethan told me he wanted the book to stay in his bed with him.  That is a very big compliment from my 4-year-old, who reserves his bed for special books.   As a parent I love reading and talking about books with my kids and this book is not only beautiful to read but it gives us a lot of topics to discuss and elaborate on.   Mommy Ramblings highly recommends this book.

I recently connected with MiniShatsu.com and was asked to pick an outfit to review.  I admit it was hard to choose, they have so many great styles.  I ended up picking the Sky Guitar Tee and the Ear Bud Shorts, and I received them recently.  You can see the quality the moment you touch them.  They look and feel great and are so comfortable for kids to wear.  The shorts have an adjustable waist which is so handy for my super skinny son.  He also loved that the interiour waist band has different colored monsters on it.  The ear buds that are hanging from the pocket make these shorts so fun and trendy for kids.  The shirt is very detailed with mock layers and no neck label to irritate delicate skin.  My son loves the guitar and so any shirt with a guitar is a hit but this one he likes especially since it is so detailed and is printed front and back.

Fair Trade Sports Respect Size 5 Soccer Ball Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Ethan is finally old enough to be playing on his first soccer team this fall.  He is absolutely thrilled.  I was recently sent a size 5 soccer ball from Fair Trade Sports to review and it could not have come at a better time.  I love that this ball is made by an adult worker who received a fair wage for his work.  I also love that it has the word RESPECT on it, because that is so important to remember for kids, adults, coaches, and everyone.  The quality of the ball is great and will stand up to much enthusiastic kicking.  I really like that Fair Trade is the world’s first line of sports balls that are certified green, and certified fair-trade.  As a parent, I love when I see companies going the extra it takes to make a difference in the world.  Fair Trade Sports is a company you can feel good about.  All after-tax profits are designated for children’s charities.
