“Alex & Me” Is An Inspirational Family Film #AlexandMe #AlexMorgan #Giveaway

Get ready to fall in love with Alex & Me!

It’s an inspirational tale for the whole family!

Soccer superstar Alex Morgan scores her movie debut with Warner Bros. Home Entertainment in the full-length feature film Alex & Me on Blu-ray™ & DVD June 19, 2018. Also featuring Nickelodeon star Siena Agudong (Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn and the upcoming Star Falls), the film follows the uplifting story of a young female athlete who learns how you need passion, determination and self-worth to make all your dreams come true.

Teenager Reagan Willis (Agudong) has one dream – to play soccer like her hero, Alex Morgan. Her bedroom is a shrine to all things Alex, including a life-size poster of the Olympic gold medalist. Yet in the Willis house, Reagan lives in the shadow of her prep football superstar brother, Logan. When Reagan fails to make the cut of the premiere local soccer club team and is humiliated by her rival Claire, she’s certain her ship has sailed. But after accidentally hitting her head, Reagan’s poster of Alex Morgan suddenly comes to life and everything changes!

An Olympic Gold Medalist and FIFA Women’s World Cup champion with a penchant for goal scoring, Alex Morgan is one of the top soccer players on the planet, currently playing forward for the United States Women’s National Team and the Orlando Pride of the National Women’s Soccer League. Away from the field, Morgan is also an accomplished author of “The Kicks” series, a collection of chapter books filled with wonderful messages of empowerment for young girls. The first The Kicks book, “Saving the Team,” debuted at No. 7 on the New York Times Best Seller list.

Eric Champnella (Thunderstruck, Mr. 3000, Eddie) wrote the Alex & Me screenplay and is also making his full-length feature debut as the film’s director. Alex Morgan serves as co-producer. Producers are Mike Karz (Blended) and William Bindley (Mother’s Day). Todd Williams (The Illusionist) is the executive producer.

Jerry Trainor (iCarly) also stars as Nigel, a less-than-reliable youth soccer coach, alongside Matt Cornett (Bella and the Bulldogs) as Reagan’s brother, Logan; Colin Critchley (Legends of the Hidden Temple) as Reagan’s soccer-playing pal, Ben; Chuiti Tiu (Nashville) as Reagan’s mother, Ann Wills; and Jim Klock (True Detective, Scream Queens) as Reagan’s father (and biggest fan), Joe Wills. Jessica Treska (HBO’s upcoming Sharp Objects) plays Reagan’s arch-rival, Claire.

Alex & Me will be available on Blu-ray (SRP $24.98), DVD (SRP $19.98) and Digital (SRP $14.99).

3D Light FX Basketball Light Review & Giveaway!!!

My preschool age son is a sports fanatic.  At a year old he was playing basketball and by 2 he was dribbling like a pro and making baskets in a full size hoop in the driveway.  It’s no wonder when we were expecting his little brother that we did his new “big boy” room in a sports theme.  Recently I was contacted by 3D Light FX about a new product line of sport themed lighting.  It was a no brainer that I would jump at their offer to review the lights.  I choose the basketball light, which is no surprise.  It arrived quickly and was super easy to install.  The first thing was to put the decal template on the wall.  If you have ever put up a vinyl wall decal, this is very much the same process.  You simply peel the paper off the tacky part of the decal and affix to the wall.  Then you rub the paper covering the front of the decal so it transfers from the paper to the wall.  I wish they had included a plastic tool that comes in other vinyl decal kits because that would make it easier for someone who has never done this or does not have a tool like that.  I have one but I ended up using a small board book of my sons as a tool to smooth the paper and transfer the decal.  Then you carefully start at a corner and peel back.  If you see that any portion is not affixed to the wall, just put the paper back and rub that part and then lift the paper.

When you remove the paper you will have a nice decal with a template for the light.  You install the batteries in the light and then install the anchor screws where shown to attach the light to the wall.  Simply switch it on for a neat effect in any room. The light comes in soccer ball, basketball, football, hockey puck and baseball styles.  If you are looking for a great accent light for a sports nut or little boy or girl’s room, this light is perfect.  I also think these lights would be perfect to mount on the wall with bunk beds so that they can each have a light that is close for them to turn on and off and creates a cozy light.  Great in a game room or Man Cave as well.

3D FX Light is sponsoring a giveaway on Mommy Ramblings.  One lucky blog reader will win their own 3D FX Sports Light.  Thank you 3D FX Light for the review light and for sponsoring this great giveaway on Mommy Ramblings!!!  Open to US and Canadian residents.

Spring Is Coming!!!

I can totally feel it!  Everyday I hear of birds that are back in town and about the Easter candy being out at Wal-Mart.  The temperatures are getting higher and we are supposed to be near 60 on Friday!!!   I am planning on walking outside instead of on my treadmill.  The other thing that makes me know spring is coming, is we just signed Ethan up for T-ball.  We have literally been waiting for years, (I know he is not even 4 yet) but this child was ready pretty much out of the womb.  Last night, Jimi took him to a basketball game at the school. Afterward, Ethan was playing, dribbling, and shooting while Jimi was talking to a friend, who also coaches a basketball program for kindergarten and 1st graders.  The friend said he has not one 5-7 year old who can handle the ball the way Ethan does.  So being able to finally play a sport, is very big here.  T-ball is the first and then he will be eligible for soccer in the fall.  Anyway, just thinking to warm evenings at the ball field watching the little ones embark on their first season of T-ball can even make a skeptic smell spring in the air.  Oh, and I got my latest issue of Martha Stewart Living and the cover stated it was time to start planting.   Which reminds me, the last time I was at the store, all the peat pots and seeds were making their debut.   Believe me I am just planning my  vegetable garden in my head and cannot wait to see how my perennials will look this spring.

What have you seen that tells you spring is near?   I would love to hear.  Hope everyone is doing well and remember we have our give-away for the Gourmac cookie stamps ending soon so be sure to get yourself in it.
