Leprechaun Spotting Binoculars

Spotting leprechauns is a demanding job, and it takes the right equipment to get the best results. Juicy Juice developed these precise leprechaun binoculars made of materials you have right at home. We hope this craft helps you find leprechauns, and we wish you the best of luck!

Materials
2 Juicy Juice boxes or toilet paper rolls
Green construction paper
Pipe Cleaners (we chose green)
String (we chose orange)
Tape
Glitter Glue or paint

Step One
Gather your materials.

Take your empty Juicy Juice boxes and unfold the tabs on the bottom and top. Then, shape the Juicy Juice box into a cylinder. You may need to cut any tabs that poke out. After that, measure the length of construction paper you will need to cover the tubes. Next, cut the length of construction paper you will need, making sure to leave some paper to tuck into the ends of the tubes. Tape the ends down inside the tubes and tape down the long edges.

St. Patrick's Day Crafts by Juicy Juice

Next, decorate your tube with glitter glue or paint. You’re going on a magical quest, so have a lot of fun with your designs. Next, get some pipe cleaners and cut them to the circumference of the tube’s ends. Shape the pipe cleaners to the ends of the tubes and tape them into place, making sure to cover the ends of the wires.

St. Patrick's Day Crafts by Juicy Juice

Once you’ve finished decorating the tubes, tape them together side by side. So your binoculars don’t get too far from you, we suggest creating a neck strap with a piece of string. We measured the length we needed to comfortably fit around our necks, and then we punched holes in the binoculars and tied the string to keep it secure. Once you have completed this step, you are done! Go out there and find some leprechauns.

Lucky Leprechaun Craft

St Patrick’s Day can be a fun holiday for you and your little ones. Juicy Juice has put together an interactive craft that will have kids jumping for joy, clicking their heels and smiling for the camera. Take photos of your little ones dressed up as festive Lucky Leprechauns and share them with Juicy Juice on Facebook!

Step 1: Gather your materials. You will need colored construction paper, a washable glue stick, a pen or washable marker, tape and wooden craft sticks. You can also replace the wooden craft sticks with popsicle sticks or wooden drink stirrers.

Juicy Juice Crafts

Step 2: Begin by sketching the basic shapes of your Lucky Leprechaun kit. Your shapes do not need to be perfect and feel free to use whichever colors you wish. Who ever said that Leprechauns only have orange beards? Cut out your shapes after sketching and place the shapes that go together nearby each other. Glue the gold coins to the back of the black pot, the rainbow arches to the clouds and the buckle and band to the green top hat.

Juicy Juice Crafts

Step 3: Once you have glued all the right pieces together. It’s now time to attach the stick so that the little ones can hold their new creations. Lay a wooden stick on the back of each creation and tape it well at the top and at the bottom. You can add a third piece of tape for extra sturdiness.

Now the fun really begins! Grab different combinations of the props you just made and have a Lucky Leprechaun photo shoot! Encourage silliness and share your little Lucky Leprechauns with Juicy Juice on Facebook. They can’t wait to see!

I received product samples to facilitate my post.

Get Organized With These DIY Rain Gutter Bookshelves #Back2SchoolReady

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #Back2SchoolReady #CollectiveBiasback to school collage

We are a book loving family. My kids love getting new books even more than new toys! No bedtime routine is complete without us reading aloud together and it’s one of my favorite things. Sharing a great book with my children, the discussions they spur and that quality time we spend reading is priceless.

This time of year has people focusing on Back to School. Thinking about school supplies and clothes shopping as well as getting your pantry and freezer stocked with quick, nutritious breakfast, lunch and after-school snack foods. Kellogg’s has lots of products to choose from to help with that.

I was in Walmart recently and in their seasonal aisle it was stocked with  like Nutri-Grain breakfast bars, Pop-Tarts, Rice Krispies Treats and more.

kellogg's In Store Collage

Over in the frozen section there were so many boxes of delicious Eggo Waffles to choose from!  As I was making my selections, I saw something amazing on the boxes! Each specially marked box was redeemable for a free Scholastic Book!

Great Kellogg’s product and free books made me a very happy camper.

Rice Krispies Treats are another favorite lunch box snack for my boys. Who can forget one of my favorites growing up, Pop-Tarts! They are still going strong and one my kids choose for a quick snack or after school treat. With Kellogg’s there is never a reason to skip breakfast! After all, it is the most important meal of the day!

Kelloggs 6

This Kellogg’s free Scholastic book promotion is truly the icing on the Kellogg’s cake! Every specially marked box has a code inside redeemable for a Scholastic Book of your choice. This free book promotion is great even if you don’t have little ones. Think about donating the books to less fortunate children and share the gift of reading. Donate them to a school, day care or nursery school in the area. For teachers this is a great way to get books for your classroom. I am so excited about this, can you tell?

It is so easy to redeem the codes for these free books. If you do not have one already you just set up a Kellogg’s Family Rewards Account HERE and then just put your code in and choose from a drop down list the store you purchased the product from. You can then enter more codes and when you’re done order your books.

Kelloggs 1

You can choose hard copy or eBooks with your codes. You can choose to donate a book to the school of your choice online. You can only donate hard copy books. When you donate a book to the school of your choice it will ship in an envelope that says it was generously donated by your family. All codes must be redeemed within 14 days of purchase. All books are shipped free of charge. Spanish titles are also available.

It is easy to choose your books and you can select by reading level. Have your child choose books that interest them. You can easily add all kinds of topics and reading level books to your home library. Having a good variety of books encourages kids to read.

We just redeemed 5 codes and ordered 2 Magic School Bus Books, A Clifford Book, 100 Most Feared Creatures and There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed A Book! We are excited to get them!

You can also buy direct at Walmart.com and receive free book purchases from purchases made between 7/21/15-9/11/15.  Look for Buy Now button HERE for a list of all eligible items. E-commerce redemptions are made via receipt scanning. See full details at the HERE link above.  Remember whether purchased in store or online you must redeem your code within 14 days to get your free book!

With all the great books we have and all the new free Scholastic books that are on their way to us, we needed some more book storage.  If you’re in the same boat, I want to share an easy, fast, inexpensive book storage solution that looks great too!

These book shelves that my husband and I recently put up in our son’s room are made from inexpensive vinyl rain gutters you can pick up in most home improvement stores.

gutter 11

They are very inexpensive, we purchased a 10′ rain gutter for under $4.  You need end caps and they are about $3 a piece and sold in sets of two. We used screws with anchors to attach them to the wall. For less than $10 each we had two 3′ book shelves and another 4′ book shelf we are putting by his bed. We love the results so much we are putting many more of these up.  In our music room we plan to put some up to hold all the music books.

I would advise you purchase the vinyl rain gutters over the aluminum for a number of reasons.  First and foremost they are safer, no sharp edges for kids or adults to get cut on, no shards of metal from drilling for screws or cutting. They will not get dented or bent the way aluminum gutters will. There is no crimping that needs to be done to attach the end caps as the vinyl end caps fit on easily and cleanly.

We cut the 10 foot gutter up into two 3 ft. pieces and one 4 ft. piece. There are lots of options with these gutters and you can even get connecting pieces to let them wrap a corner.

When we brought them home we just attached the end caps to each 3 foot section.

Gutter 3

Gutter 4

Gutter 5

Next, my husband easily drilled three holes for the screws. We put 1 screw on each end and one in the middle.  We used wall anchor screws and we added a washer that you fit under the lip of the gutter on the inside of the shelf and stops the screw from puckering the vinyl on the interior of the shelf.

Gutter 6

Then he put the shelf on the wall, leveled it and marked the screw holes. He then put the anchors in the wall. After that he just attached them to the wall with the screws and we were good to go.

T.G.I. Friday’s Frozen Snacks Are Perfect To Team Up With Game Day Entertaining!!!

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser.

TGI Friday's Frozen Snacks-#tgifgameday-#cbias-#shop

With our large family and my older kid’s friends always over, it’s like a party every day at our house.  I sometimes feel like we have a revolving door and you never know who’s going to pop over.  With older boys and their friends, I can tell you that we always have hungry people in our house.

Now, when you add an event like the big game to the agenda, you can be sure there better be plenty of great snacks and tasty food for the sports fans to munch on.  They say go big or go home, that’s how we feel about a lot of things but certainly how we plan when entertaining during game time!  My husband likes to cook especially when we have friends and family coming by to relax and enjoy a big game day with us.

My husband can be found making his signature chili and serving it with cubes of cheddar cheese for an unbelievable hearty bowl of comfort food.  Chips and dips of all kinds, cold drinks, and we always like to have some finger foods like wings too.  T.G.I. Friday’s has some amazing appetizers available in the freezer section of your local Walmart store now!

Choose from Frozen Snacks of Delicious Wings with Honey BBQ Sauce, Loaded Cheddar & Bacon Potato Skins,Boneless Chicken Bites with Honey BBQ Sauce, Mozzarella Sticks, Jalapeno Poppers and much more.  These appetizers are easy to prepare and let you spend time with your family and friends watching the game without sacrificing taste or quality.

I picked some up recently from the well-stocked freezer section at Walmart.  There are regular and even value sizes of some varieties to choose from, and  you better believe  when the value size was available, I chose that and loaded up my cart.  I checked out and drove home and my husband put the treats in our extra freezer.

Imagine my surprise the next day when I went to get the boxes and found considerably less then I purchased.  Apparently, my older boys found the stash while getting some ice cream.  Enticed seeing the colorful T.G.I Friday’s packaging and even more intrigued by the pictures of their favorite Friday’s foods, those snacks never had a chance.  Needless to say, there was quite a dent put in my stash.  Oh well, what are you going to do, the story of living with teenagers!  I never need to worry about my little ones doing that yet, give them time though.

So I took what I had left and prepared a sampling buffet for us to try so we could get a feel for our favorites.  I cooked what was left of the wings, boneless chicken, loaded potato skins and poppers.  I left some of the chicken uncoated for my little guys but they ended up wanting the sauce.  I think it’s nice though that you can keep some plain for those who prefer that.  Everything cooked very quickly and disappeared just as fast which is a testimony to how good it tasted!

Fresh Baby, Divided Dish & Baby Bowl Review and Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I like to feed my kids healthy food.  We are big fruit eaters, but it is hard to find healthy snacks when you are on the run a lot.  Most times bags of chips or cookies are readily available, but they are not really healthy choices.  Fresh Baby sent me a divided dish with cover and bowl with cover.  They are stainless steel inside, dishwasher safe. freezer safe and they make it super easy for me to tote along healthy snacks when we are on the go.  I can simply cut up some fresh fruit and pop them in my diaper bag.  Then when the kids are fussy and there are no healthy snacks around, I can pull them out and have happy kids.  I really like that the divided dish is so versatile, the divider is removable for just one item or it can be fit in any of the three notches to divide the dish up into differnt size compartments.  These dishes are also great if you make your own baby food and the stainless steel is easy to clean.  I really like these dishes and highly recommend them.

Fresh Baby is so generous that they are sponsoring a give-away here on Mommy Ramblings.  One of our lucky blog readers is going to get their own bowl and divided dish.  Thank you Fresh Baby for the review pieces and sponsoring this great give-away!!!
