Turn Your Home Into An Efficient Powerhouse

There are many kinds of improvements that you might want to make to your home. Arguably one of the most common is to make it more efficient, but this can be hard to achieve. Efficiency is often poorly misunderstood, and it is this lack of understanding which causes it not to be utilized in most  homes. If you are serious about wanting to make your home more efficient, it’s a good idea to take a closer look at what that really means. With a better approach, you can easily turn your home into a much more efficient place to live.

The Power Of An Audit

Most people who are aiming to make improvements in home efficiency will just dive straight into making those basic changes. Changing out the lightbulbs and the heating system are good things to do regardless, but you might find it more effective to first have an audit performed on your home. A home energy audit helps to reveal what the main problem areas are. With this knowledge, you can spend your money (and your time) more wisely as you make those changes. It is very difficult to know for certain where you are losing energy, so an audit of this kind could really help to make your home run more efficiently.

Outside The Box

The truth is that many of the top efficiency changes are those which you don’t consider at first. Using your imagination and thinking outside the box a little is often one of the best things you can do in terms of making your home much more efficient. There are a huge range of these ideas out there which can be a big benefit to your home, you just need to do your research. It might be that you choose to install an energy-efficient electric water heater, or perhaps you feel it is time to build a wind farm in your backyard. For more helpful tips check out https://theplumbinginfo.com and try to find other online resources with similar ideas.

Solar, Solar, Solar

If there is anything to always take away from this article, it is that solar is the number one renewable energy. Whenever you are thinking of turning your home into a much more efficient dwelling, you will want to find one way or another to utilize the power of  the sun.

The fact is, it is the most efficient energy source there is. It works for anything that you need energy for, and it is cheap to install and run. You won’t have to do anything once it is installed either, so you can just sit back and let it power your home. You might even be able to sell some energy back to the grid – and that can really make a huge difference in your life. Click here to find more about converting to solar energy.

Follow the tips above and you will be off to a  good start on improving your home’s energy efficiency. You might be surprised at just how quickly you can reap the rewards of making these changes.

SingleCare is the Smart, New Way to Save on Health Care

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of SingleCare. As always my words and views are 100% my own.

Nearly everyone is aware that health care is not cheap. I think it is safe to say, most people would love to save on health services for themselves and their family. You are probably nodding your head in agreement as you are reading this. If I am right, you will want to keep reading, because I am going to share something that can help you do just that. SingleCare helps you save on health services without having to jump through any hoops. SingleCare is not insurance, but it helps fill in gaps and helps you save on health services not covered by your insurance.

With SingleCare you can see pricing for prescriptions, dental procedures, vision procedures and video doctor visits. Yes, video doctor visits. Have you ever had one? I have, they are awesome! Imagine not having any billing surprises and being able to access affordable treatment. Well, you don’t have to just imagine it, you can live it with SingleCare.

So, let’s cover the basics. SingleCare’s pharmacy savings card is accepted nationwide at over 35,000 pharmacies including Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, Kroger, Harris, Teeter, Duane Reade, Longs Drugs and Fry’s. You can easily look up the price of a prescription and find out if your pharmacy accepts SingleCare by going to the SingleCare website or using the SingleCare App. On average you can save 50% on your prescription drugs.

Since SingleCare is not medical insurance there are no issues with exclusion due to pre-existing conditions. As long as you use a SingleCare provider, you can take advantage of SingleCare’s discounted rates.

While you cannot use SingleCare if you are paying for your visit through your insurance, it helps you to pay for dental, vision and many medical services not covered by insurance. Dental procedures are expensive, and so many do not have dental insurance. SingleCare offers savings on crowns, implants and a range of outpatient dental services.

Welcome to the future, see a doctor without leaving your home. Consulting an online doctor instead of going into your local pharmacy can save you both time and money. Video doctor visits are used for colds, flu, fever, rash, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, meal planning, special diets, diabetes and more. The cost for a video doctor visit depends on the type of doctor you see. An Urgent Care video visit for a SingleCare member costs $44, while a counseling session of 45 minutes costs $79 with an MSW and $99 with a PhD/PsyD. Video visits for diet and nutrition cost $25 a session.

A SingleCare membership is free, there are no fees or premiums to pay. The only thing you pay for are the services your received during provider visits. The charges are billed to the payment method you chose when you opened your free membership. A SingleCare fee is already included as part of the costs you see displayed on their website. This means, no unpleasant hidden or unexpected charges when you receive your bill from your visit.

You can learn more on the  SingleCare website and connect with them on Facebook and Twitter. SingleCare takes the confusion out of health care. Isn’t it time you discovered the smart new way to save on health care?

How To Decorate Your Home For The Holidays & Save Money #GrouponCoupons

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

The holidays are coming upon us fast. If you are like me, you might be thinking about getting your home ready for the holidays. I was recently browsing Home Decorators. I love decorating for the Christmas season and  I admit, I  squealed with delight when I saw the Martha Stewart Mouse Ornaments. Could they be any more adorable? I can’t see how, they are just precious!

As I continued to browse the site I landed upon the Martha Stewart Living™ House Advent Calendar Ornaments. I was floored because they are the same types of houses I remember as a child. My favorite thing was decorating a village under the tree with them. These houses look exactly like the ones from my childhood except they have numbers on the front. They are a unique advent calendar, you hang one house each day on the tree from December 1st thru December 23rd.  I just love the idea and want to start this new tradition with my family.

They have such nice holiday decor, I want everything! I especially like this Chalkboard Joy Sign.

Check it out for yourself, they have so many great items. They even have a huge selection of artificial trees that look so real! Everything coordinates so beautifully, it is easy to create a home that reflects the splendor of the season.

Another store I like shopping at is Overstock.com. I have found super deals there. Now that it is getting colder, I like to use flannel sheets. I found their selection of flannel sheets to be amazing. The only hard part is choosing from the many styles!

Who doesn’t like curling up on the couch with a mug of hot cocoa and watching Christmas movies? When I saw these Eddie Bauer pillows, I knew they would be perfect for my family room.

As much as I like shopping for new home decor, I love saving money on new home decor! Home Decorators and Overstock are having huge sales now but what makes it even better are Groupon Coupons! Do you use Groupon Coupons? If you don’t, check them out, you will be glad you did!

How To #FlavorYourSummer & Have More Fun While Spending Less

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #FlavorYourSummer #CollectiveBias#FlavorYourSummer Tombstone PizzaSummer is almost here!  The unofficial start kicked off this holiday weekend and everyone has summer on the brain. With the kids out of school soon, it’s usually a time for planning their time off. Creative ways to have fun that don’t cost a lot of money are appealing to many families. I am amazed how some simple things can bring so much enjoyment and happy memories without a big price tag attached.

Convenience is also very welcome in our busy summertime routines.  As we finish the last few weeks of baseball, it seems we are rushing out the door as soon as the kids get home from school.  Dinner has to be fast and easy on those nights!

I was shopping in Walmart the other day, and noticed that Tombstone has new limited edition pizzas like Bratwurst and Diablo.

#FlavorYourSummer-Pizza-Bratwurst

I picked some up because they were a very good price and looked great. I thought they would be perfect for days we are rushing off to practice or when we are just hanging out at home enjoying some fun in the sun.

This weekend we had a fun day at home for very little effort or money.  The kids had a blast drawing on the driveway with inexpensive sidewalk chalk, running through the sprinkler, playing with some inexpensive water squirters and we all enjoyed a dinner of Tombstone Bratwurst pizza and homemade strawberry limeade.

The pizza was a huge hit, delicious and cheesy and the Bratwurst that complemented it perfectly.  The fresh sliced strawberries made our ice-cold, limeade extra special and we ended the night with a movie.
