Four Peas Toddler Backpack Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

Recently, I received a Rocker Toddler Backpack to review from Four Peas.  This style is perfect for my four-year old who will be entering pre-school in the Fall.  The backpack was a huge hit with him because he loves guitars and his favorite color is green, so the green accents just added to the appeal of this backpack for him.  The backpack is the perfect size for toddlers and is roomy enough to hold all the stuff they want to cart back and forth to pre-school, day camp, play-dates or even an overnight trip.  The bag has a large compartment and a smaller zippered front compartment for smaller items.  The easily adjustable straps make it a snap to get a snug and secure fit on your child.  The quality of this bag will stand up to most anything toddlers can dish out.  It is nice to find a toddler backpack that looks good and functions well.

PRODUCT INFO:

Road Trips, Reviews, and Give-Aways!!!

Our Scentsationals give-away ended and Donna Woody is our winner.  Congratulations Donna, I know you will love this warmer and wax set.

So, we are planning our vacation.  We are driving down first to Georgia and then to Florida and staying for a week in beautiful Dunedin.  I have been planning and list making for this trip down with 2 toddlers.  We have a nice van so the kids are comfy, and they are kept pretty entertained with the DVD player.  I plan to bring their magna doodle pros because they really love them.   So, I was thrilled when I got a package in the mail to review of Jack Hartmann’s “Get On Board the Transition Train,” transition songs that teach.  I have listened to this cd at home and  cannot wait to play it on our big road trip.  The kids love it!!!

I cannot believe the amount of great and educational songs that are on this CD.  There are 28 songs on this CD!!!  This is great for long trips in the car to sing-a-long to and learn from.  This would also be great for anyone that runs a home daycare, nursery school or for home-schooling parents.  The quality is top notch and you should take a look at the website.  http://www.jackhartmann.com. Jack Hartmann’s Hop 2 It Music is a great site and resource.

These educational songs for children focus on the following curriculum skills:
Starting & Ending the Day – Lining Up Quietly – Good Listening – Cleanup Fun – Circle Time Learning – Positive Behavior – Playground Rules – Zero the Hero – Washing Hands – Phonemic Awareness – Bathroom Do’s & Don’ts – Calming Down – Gross Motor Fun – 100 Days of School – Positive Lunchtime Behavior – Exercising & Fitness – 60 Beat per minute Brain Building – Crossing the Mid-line.

Great Idea for Toddlers and Pre-Schoolers.

If you have toddlers or pre-schoolers who are learning the alphabet, how to spell their name and other words, then you may find this helpful.  My kids have the Kidkraft Avalon table and chairs.  I love this table because it is big and sturdy and adults can sit comfortably on the chairs.  Anyway, I was in Sams Club the other day and saw this very large magnetic white board that happened to have a cork board on the other side.  It was under $16.00, so quite a good deal.  I bought it, and upon bringing it home noticed that it is the same size as the kids’ table.  I put it on and added some Melissa and Doug alphabet magnetic letters, then I called in the kiddies and they had so much fun.  Well, we had fun and it has been played with everyday since then.  Now any kind of magnet will work on the board and I also bought them the Expo washable dry erase markers for children.  Additionally I purchased the Crayola dry erase crayons, so they can practice writing their letters or other art on the board.  Just wanted to share this as it is an inexpensive and educational ideas that kids will love.

Please excuse the logs, we were building a fire..

Ethan’s first day of pre-school!!!

Well, after a few false starts due to snow, we finally were able to take Ethan to his first day of pre-school.  I think it worked out well because Friday there are only 6 other kids there, so it was not overwhelming.  All the other kids were boys and everyone seemed to be very well behaved.  Ethan adjusted quite well.  When I told him I was going, he gave me a kiss and then said rather matter of factly, “Don’t go.”  When I explained I had to go home for a bit and would pick him up later he was fine.  Ms.  Jackie told me he was great and no tears.  When I went to pick him up he did not want to leave.  He cried because we were leaving.  Silly boy.  I got to meet some nice mommies too, and I can always use new mommy friends.

Here are some pictures before we left this morning.

Today is February 1st!!!

Wow, I have been wanting to say that for so long now!  Next month is Spring people.  We may be having a 2 day snow storm now but I am still upbeat.  The worst thing was that today was supposed to be Ethan’s first day of pre-school.  Due to the weather it was cancelled and tomorrow will be the same if the storm is as expected.  Poor kid has been asking to go to school since last Friday and now he has a bit more of a wait.  He is so excited to go.  Oh, and did I tell you all that next month is Spring!!! : )

Alexandra had to travel in this mess to get to Albany and the trip took 4.5 hours.  She is starting her internship tomorrow.  She is very excited.  We are very proud of her and very glad she made it up there safely.

Hope you all are staying safe and warm if you are in the path of this storm.  I am going to do some cardio on the treadmill now.  Do something great for yourself today!!!
