ToiletTree Products, Deluxe LED Fogless Shower Mirror with Squeegee Review & Give-Away!!! {Give-Away Ended}

I was recently sent the Deluxe LED Fogless Shower Mirror with Squeegee by ToiletTree Products for review.  ToiletTree Products has taken their Original Fogless Shower Mirror and turned it into a “Deluxe Version.” This transformed mirror is now 20% larger then the Original Fogless Shower Mirror. The entire outside of the mirror is illuminated by LED lights. Look your best by taking care of your face in your shower. This patented mirror is guaranteed not to fog in the shower. No more suction cups falling off the wall! Their removable, soft silicone adhesive secures the mirror to all shower surfaces and will not damage tiles or shower walls! The mirror conveniently detaches from the bracket so you can easily fill the reservoir before each use. An included self-stored squeegee removes any excess water from the front of your mirror. An adjustable frame makes the mirror accommodating for multiple users and angles. The combination of heat and moisture open the pores and creates an ideal environment for shaving, exfoliating, tweezing and cleaning.

To use: Simply slide the mirror off the bracket before each shower and fill with hot water. The hot water will keep the mirror the same temperature as the environment in your shower which makes it scientifically impossible for your mirror to ever fog. Filling the mirror each shower takes 5-7 seconds. To turn LED lights “on” simply tap the button located on the right side of the mirror, tap the button once more for a lower light setting, tap a third time to turn off.

It certainly makes sense that your pores will be the most open during a nice hot steamy shower.  Perfect to tweeze, shave, clean and exfoiliate, however that same steam fogs up normal mirrors so it is a Catch 22.  Now ToiletTree Products has the perfect solution.  This mirror is super easy to set up and install and will not damage your shower walls or tile.  By filling the mirror with hot water before your shower you elimanate any fogging.  The LED light is great to give you the best lighting in which to shave, tweeze or cleanse your face. Mirror has a convenient shelf  to hold your razor or tweezers.  Your mirror will be crystal clear so you can now perform your daily skin care in the shower, the handy squeegee is great for wiping off any excess water.  This mirror allows you to multi-task and will make your daily routine run smoother and more efficient.

Mommy Ramblings is putting the ToiletTree Products Deluxe LED Fogless Mirror on our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide.  This mirror makes a great gift for the men, women and teens on your holiday gift list.

Tamron AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD AF Lens Review & Giveaway!!! {Giveaway Ended}

I was absolutely ecstatic when Tamron contacted me to do a review on their AF18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD AF Lens.  My Canon 60D is more like an extension of my arm.  Rarely, am I anywhere without my camera.  Most of the time I shoot with a 17-55mm, and zooming requires me to change to my 55-250 mm.  This is good, but not great when you are on the beach and don’t want to chance changing lenses with blowing sand and surf.  On our recent vacation, this was a huge hassle, because I either had to chance changing the lens or try to make it work with one or the other.  Now with this Tamron AF18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD AF Lens, I am able to have the best of both worlds in one lens.

One instance where this lens would have been great, was last year.  My friend and I were on a walk and saw a black bear that was down the road.  My Canon 17-55 mm could not make him more than a black blob in the distance.  This lens would have been perfect.  I took it out today and was very impressed with the lens.  First it is light, which is great because I usually walk with my camera.  I love the range, it really can’t be beat.  The images are sharp, crisp and well focused.  I would not use it as my portrait lens in my studio but as an all around lens, I am very impressed.  I cannot wait to really put this lens through the paces. I look forward to the ability to capture images that would have required me to change lenses.  If you are looking for a great all-purpose lens that will go the distance, then you should try the Tamron AF18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD AF Lens .  The auto focus works great and the vibration compensation mechanism is flawless.  Compatible mounts are Nikon, Canon and Sony.

At the other end of the soccer field.

Now you can without a doubt.

Much better!!!

He came all the way down, he gets some apples.

What’s that?

Aha!!!

What’s out there?

I can see clearly now.

Tamron AF18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD AF Lens for Canon

The Tamron AF18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di-II VC PZD AF Lens for Canon is a 15x high power zoom lens designed exclusively for digital SLR cameras using the more compact (APS-C) digital size image sensors. The focal length of this lens is equivalent to approx. 28-419mm in 35mm format. Designed as an “all-in-one” lens, it will meet almost all photographic opportunities without changing lenses.

The addition of PZD (Piezo Drive) ultrasonic autofocus motor helps make this lens lighter, short and slimmer than any previous lens in this category, and provides faster, quieter auto-focusing.

The VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism allows the use of shutter speeds that are much slower than otherwise possible, with no perceptible increase in image blur. It automatically detects movement of the camera and compensates for camera shake when shooting a moving object. This feature is a must in a lens with this longer range of focal length.  This lens will focus down to 19.3″ (0.49 m) throughout the zoom range.

This lens is designed exclusively for DSLR cameras with smaller-size sensors. It is NOT compatible with 35mm film cameras and DSLR cameras with image sensors larger than 24 x 16mm.

Compact, lightweight 15x zoom lens
For use with Canon digital SLR cameras
For APS-C image sensor cameras
Vibration Compensation (VC) system is incorporated into the lens
A new level of compactness, performance, and speed is achieved with the addition of PZD (Piezo Drive), an innovative ultrasonic autofocus motor based on an advanced piezoelectric design
Special Glass Optimized for Digital SLR
Three hybrid aspherical lens elements and two LD (Low Dispersion) glass elements are used to accomplish effective compensation of on-axis and lateral chromatic aberrations, a critical factor to enhance the optical quality in digital photography.
Di-II Series Design
Design has been improved by adding a gold-colored band between the focus and zoom rings to enhance the appearance and make it stand out as a Di II lens. The rubber patterns of the zoom and focus control rings have been improved at the same time to compliment the digital camera design style and to provide better handling.

Zoey and Sassy Are 4 Months Old!!!

I thought I needed some updated portraits of the little puppies today.  It was a very impromptu and fast photo session but I am glad that we did it.  Jimi just trimmed around their eyes yesterday and I think he made Sassy look like a Dandie Dinmont Terrier instead of a Maltese.    Zoey, AKA Zazzy is a West Highland White Terrier and Sassafras, AKA Sassy is a Maltese.  They are good little playful puppies who are full of spunk and personality.  They are not afraid of the bigger dogs at all and constantly wrestle, tumble and play tug o war with their huge American Bulldog brother and sister.   They are doing great out in the snow on their first Winter and  are great with the kids.   Enjoy the pics of these precious puppies!

Summer Fun!!!

I know, I know!!!  I have not been a very good blogger of late.  Blame it on the Summer.  We have been having a wonderful summer and the weather has been great.  Let me get you up to date on what we have been doing.  Sylvia and I are still doing our walks and becoming even more ambitious.  The other week we took our longest walk ever!!!  It was getting dark and we saw a black bear on our way home which made us walk very fast!!!  We literally walked from my lake to another and back again, we did not clock it but it was easy over 6 miles.  It was all very good until the bear, then as we sang our way home in the dark we had a few scares.

We have also made a couple of trips to the Old Cochecton Train Station.  One time with just Jimi and I and then two little babes and another with the entire family.   We had a great time on both occasions.  We also got some great pics that will make great prints on my new gallery wall I am creating in the family room.  I could not believe how much fun even the biggest boys had at the tracks, throwing rocks and goofing around.  Good family fun!!!

After the family train trip, Alexandra and I got to head off on a girls’ night out.  She was home for the weekend before moving up to Potsdam for a new position in the political arena.  She will be there until the end of November so we had to do some major shopping and then a nice dinner at Cracker Barrel in Binghamton for some good southern comfort food to ease the fears of relocation.  She will do fine though and she knows it and we are all so proud of her.

Throw in there the lake picnic of which Jimi is the new vice president of the Lake Owners’ Association, swimming, walking, dog issues, gardening, oh what a garden we have!!!

Well let me post some pictures of some of the things mentioned and I will try to visit my blog on a more regular basis.  Enjoy the Summer while it lasts!!!
