Discover “Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus” Film & #Giveaway #PatternsOfEvidence #FlyBy

Have you ever asked yourself if the history found in the Bible is real? Do you ever wonder if it is fact or fiction? Filmmaker Timothy Mahoney did, he faced a crisis of faith and wondered if the Exodus out of Egypt was just a myth. In an effort to answer that questions, he embarks on a 12-year journey around the world in a quest for answers. Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus unlocks the mystery of this ancient saga, combining both scientific investigation with a retelling of the Exodus story to reveal an amazing pattern of evidence matching the biblical account that may challenge our understanding of history.

About the film

  • Won 13 awards on the film festival circuit in 2014, including a Gold Remi Award winner for Best Director at the Worldfest Houston Intl. Film Festival, the Gold Crown Award for Best Picture and Best Documentary at ICVM 2014, and Official Selection at the Soho International Film Festival in New York.
  • Supplemental resources associated with the film include a nearly 400-page hardcover book, small group Bible study, Movie Event kit, youth version (called Young Explorers), homeschool curriculum and others.
  • It includes powerful interviews with some of the top experts in the fields of archaeology and Egyptology as well as people of influence in the Middle East.
  • The film has an objective, fair-minded and balanced approach. It allows viewpoints from all sides to be heard in a respectful way while asking honest questions of the Bible and scholars’ views. It does not preach and lets the evidence speak for itself. This allows the film to be very sharable with those of different viewpoints.

About the author/filmmaker/producer

Tim Mahoney founded Mahoney Media Group, Inc. (MMG) in 1989. MMG focused its business on television and video production for regional and national companies. In 2014 Tim founded Thinking Man Films & Media as an international documentary & publishing company with a focus on education and the Bible. Tim produced numerous productions for Christian organizations including the Billy Graham Association, World Wide Pictures, and Compassion International. Tim also served as the President of the board for the International Christian Visual Media Association (ICVM).

Tim’s first full feature documentary film, “PATTERNS OF EVIDENCE: THE EXODUS”, released in January 2015. The film took 12 years to develop and takes a scientific approach to investigate the events of the biblical Exodus. The overall vision for his film company is to explore “patterns of evidence” that support the biblical narrative and engages the world in a conversation. The film takes a balanced approach and leaves the audience to decide for themselves if the Bible is real history or myth.

“The Gruffalo’s Child” Re-Released on DVD #Giveaway

Yesterday, I told you about the re-release of, The Gruffalo and today, I am here to tell you all about the re-release of, The Gruffalo’s Child. This film is based on the beloved children’s picture book by Julia Donaldson. I can’t tell you how much my kids love these films. I have to admit, I do as well. They are so beautifully done that they captivate our attention from beginning to end. In The Gruffalo’s Child, The Gruffalo tells his child about a Big Bad Mouse that he ran into many years before.

The curious little Gruffalo cannot contain her curiosity and sets out to see if this creature really exists. She encounters the same fox, owl and snake from The Gruffalo who each tell her where she can find the Big Bad Mouse. Feeling that she had been tricked and there is no Big Bad Mouse, she finally runs into the little mouse from The Gruffalo. The little mouse is just as clever, and invites The Gruffalo’s Child to meet the Big Bad Mouse using the moonlight to cast a shadow that scares the Gruffalo’s Child and sends her fleeing.

These films show children that brains can prevail over brawn. Check out the trailer HERE!  Helena Bonham Carter narrates as she did in The Gruffalo. Special features include a Behind the Scenes Documentary and Artwork Gallery. You can purchase this film on Amazon. If you would like a chance to win this DVD, enter the giveaway below.

ABOUT THE WONDER YEARS

The Wonder Years debuted in 1988 following ABC’s broadcast of Super Bowl XXII, and the affectionate look at growing up in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s in suburban America was unlike anything else on television. It was 1968 — the year of Nixon, space walks, Mod Squad, and Vietnam. Enter Kevin Arnold, a sixth grader at Kennedy Junior High School. Set against the suburban backdrop of Anytown, USA, Kevin sought to minimize his teenage angst while dealing with an older, noogie-happy brother Wayne (Jason Hervey), a rebellious sister, Karen (Olivia d’Abo), distant, workaholic father, Jack (Dan Lauria) and doting housewife mother, Norma (Alley Mills). Add to the mix Paul Pfeiffer (Josh Saviano), his nerdy, allergy-riddled best friend, a potential love interest in winsome girl-next-door Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar) and narration by an older, wiser, wittier Kevin (voiced by Daniel Stern) to add perspective to the nostalgia, and you have the perfect recipe for TV greatness.

For the next six seasons, America tuned in to follow Kevin’s exploits, as he navigated adolescence in the most memorable of ways. From 1988 to 1993, The Wonder Years was one of the most popular shows on TV, achieving a spot in the Nielsen Top 30 for four of its six seasons. And the critical accolades and awards would follow: after only a scant six episodes, the show captured an Emmy® for “Best Comedy Series;” and, at the age of 13, Fred Savage would become the youngest actor ever nominated as “Outstanding Lead Actor for a Comedy Series.” The series would also go on to win 24 awards (and be nominated for 70 more), including multiple Emmy® Awards, a Golden Globe® and, in 1989, a Peabody® Award for pushing the boundaries of the sitcom format and using new modes of storytelling. Additionally, in 1997, “My Father’s Office” was ranked #29 on TV Guide’s “100 Greatest Episodes of All Time” and in the 2009 list, the pilot episode was ranked #43. Suffice it to say, The Wonder Years was one of the most critically lauded sitcoms of the late 80s and early 90s.

Trio of Peanuts Classic Movies, Remastered on DVD Giveaway & Printable Coloring Page

I absolutely love the Peanuts gang.  I always have and my kids do too.  I loved watching their full length movies as a kid and now that joy can be shared any time.  Three Classic Peanuts full length movies, Race For Your Life Charlie Brown, A Boy Named Charlie Brown and Snoopy Come Home are remastered on DVD and available for purchase Tuesday February 10th!

Peanuts Movies

A Boy Named Charlie Brown

A boy named charlie brown

Join Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Snoopy and the whole Peanuts gang in their very first big screen adventure! This movie follows Charlie Brown to the streets of Manhattan after he qualifies as a contestant in the National Spelling Bee. Poor Linus in a supportive effort to bolster Charlie Brown’s shaky self-confidence, lends him his treasured security blanket.  However, when Linus finds out Charlie Brown lost it, he is the one who needs help.  Nearly passing out from withdrawal and anxiety, poor Linus is beside himself.  What an adventure and you know at the end, Lucy will say, “That Blockhead!”  Charles M. Schulz and Bill Melendez weave a world made of witty dialogue, magical security blankets and bright-eyed beagles, all set to an Academy Award®-nominated score by Rod McKuen and Vince Guaraldi.

Snoopy Come Home

Snoopy Come Home

I think this is my absolute favorite Peanuts movie.  Who can forget when Snoopy and his best friend Woodstock set off to visit Snoopy’s first owner Lila in the hospital.  Poor Snoopy must hear “NO DOGS ALLOWED” more times than he can even remember being tossed out of libraries, hospitals, buses and more.  The Peanuts gang is going frantic trying to find the beloved pooch and bring him home.  My favorite part is when Snoopy and Woodstock are mistaken as a stray sheepdog and parrot by a little girl who is determined to make them her pets.  After giving Snoopy a sanitizing bath and putting Woodstock in a parrot cage she dresses Snoopy in a dress and sits him down for a tea party.  Snoopy is less than impressed and must come up with a way to get himself and Woodstock out of there.  In the end it is a heartwarming story showing there really is no place like home!

But Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Snoopy, Woodstock and all the rest are ready to face whatever camp throws at them. And when the day of the Big Rafting Race comes around, they’ll fearlessly take to the water, pitting the boys against the girls – and Snoopy and Woodstock against all of them –as they face raging rapids, wild weather, and sneaky sabotage from a bevy of bunkhouse bullies. Teamwork, courage and leadership are the keys to success.
