My Favorite Episode of Season 1 of “Paul The Male Matchmaker”

I recently shared with you a great new series called, “Paul The Male Matchmaker” that you can view here on Hulu.com.  I really enjoyed the entire first series, but one of my favorite episodes is the 2nd episode, “Know When You’re Not Ready.”  My absolute favorite part of this episode is when Jillian, a woman who recently broke up with her boyfriend, comes to Paul because she is ready to get back into dating.  Paul asks her if her boyfriend would take her back.  Jillian tells him that her ex was not right for her, and it is important that she move on, but he continues asking her if she were to beg him, would he take her back?  This first scene is so funny to me.

Paul is such a bumbling matchmaker who has no idea what he is doing, and his goofiness is hysterical.  He is constantly giving the women the wrong advice and making them do all kinds of crazy exercises, like telling Jillian there are not a lot of guys left for her to mess up on, so he makes her go on a date with a dummy.  I don’t know, I just find this series amusing because Paul is just a guy without a clue who inherited this matchmaking business from his aunt.  The things he says and tells the women to do, are just absolutely crazy.  If you are looking for a laugh, view a few of these episodes.  There are a few episodes with some (very little) adult language, so you will not want to have your young ones around.  Let me know what you think if you do tune in, by leaving me a comment on this post.  I can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

I have been hired by Warner Bros WBWord division to raise awareness for Paul the Male Matchmaker.

Paul The Male Matchmaker!!!

I would love to share with you a hysterical new show called “Paul The Male Matchmaker.”  Paul, just inherited a matchmaking business from his aunt Cathy.  Paul is desperately trying to make a go of this business on his own terms.  Paul is married to a wealthy woman named Terri and has started numerous businesses that flounder, the custom butter business almost broke even, but didn’t.  Paul does try to hone his skills as a matchmaker and calls upon several professionals including the Millionaire Matchmaker, the ladies who wrote “The Rules” and the authors of “He’s just not that into you” among others.  The episodes are hilarious and they do contain some language that may be offensive to some but not an overwhelming amount by any means.  Paul fumbles through many of his own matchmaking fiascos, like equating the movie Speed, where Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock fell in love in a terror filled situation to his theory that fear can make you fall in love.  He goes so far as to set a prospective couple up at a restaurant and have his staff charge in with face masks and machine guns as terrorists to see if his theory works.  It does work but in a way he did not expect.

In season 1 Episode 3 Jillian played by Lisa Edelstein seeks out Paul’s advice on how to get back into the dating world after being in a 4 year relationship with her ex boyfriend. In this episode Jillian gets matched up with a “dummy” for a date.  Considering some of the stories I have heard from friends, maybe the dummy is a step up from some of the “real” alternatives.  I think we have all been set up at least once with a guy that we just know is not right for us and want to ask Scotty to beam us up out of there pronto. Do you have a funny story you want to share about a matchmaking date that was definitely not a match made in Heaven?  Feel free to share in the comments and let us all have a laugh, it is the best medicine around.
