With our busy lives some days can feel like we are running in circles, scrambling to get things done. When we have extra things to do, it can make doing the everyday things even harder. With Halloween approaching you may be stressed about how to coordinate dinner, trick or treating, answering your own door etc. I am here to help and offer some suggestions. Make it easy on yourself this year! Use paper products for dinner so you have one less thing to worry about and take a few short cuts that won’t be short on taste for your family.

I was in Walmart the other day and picked up some STOUFFER’S® Family Size Entrées. There is a nice assortment to choose from including vegetarian dishes, chicken dishes, pasta and more. I chose Italiano Lasagna and Stuffed Peppers.

Here’s Why You Should Try Liquid Chalk Markers-Bonus Giveaway!

I recently test drove the 8 piece broad liquid chalk markers. There is a little trick to get them started.  First you push down on the tip to release any pressure, then you shake it vigorously and then depress the tip while holding it on a piece of paper until you see the color filling the tip and it flows.  After that, it is time for fun!

I used them on my black dry erase board and they worked great! How To Make An Adorable Applique Birthday Shirt!!! Easy and Quick Project!

I like to have birthday shirts for my kids and take a picture of them in it on their actual birthday.  A few years ago I made one but most of the time I buy them. However, after the success I had with the Christmas shirts, I decided to try and make an applique birthday shirt for my son.  It was so easy and looked great!  If you would like to try, you can follow the easy tutorial here.

DIY Birthday Shirt Collage

Supplies:

  • Plain Shirt- short or long sleeve
  • Material- small amount for number
  • Number Template- easy to find online
  • Scissors-Craft and Fabric
  • Thread to coordinate with number fabric and shirt
  • Sewable Heat Bond
  • Iron
  • Straight Pins
  • Sewing Machine with Applique Stitch or you can Zig Zag.

Prep:

Make sure to wash your fabric and shirt before starting and then iron.

1. Cut some fabric for your number

bday shirt 1

2. Cut a piece of sewable heat bond and iron it on the back side of the fabric.  **Remember when cutting the sewable heat bond or the fabric that has it ironed on, never use your fabric scissors!  You will ruin them.  Always use your craft scissors when cutting anything with heat bond.

3. Place the number template on the front side of the fabric, pin and cut.

Grilled Peanut Butter, Banana & Honey Waffle Breakfast Sandwiches With Aunt Jemima Frozen Waffles!!! #4MoreWaffles

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #collectivebias

I always think that the plan of getting up 20 minutes earlier in the morning will make getting the kids out the door less hurried and subsequently less stressful.  It makes perfect sense at night and I totally agree and would offer the advice to anyone.  However, when that alarm goes off and I am feeling particularly sleepy, knowing that I have the extra minutes can make me hit the snooze alarm a few times.  Now at the time, I think those extra minutes are so worth it, but when we are scurrying about trying to get everyone dressed and out to the bus stop in time and someone can’t find something they need, it hardly seems worth it.

I want my kids to not be stressed in the morning, so we make sure that we have everything ready to go the night before and that helps.  You know what else helps?  Having breakfast choices that are fast and easy.  That is why I keep Aunt Jemima Frozen Waffles in our freezer.  The resealable packs now come with  14 waffles instead of 10! Yeah for 4 more waffles and the resealable bag makes it easy to take what you need, leaving the rest sealed for freshness.

waffles 2_edited-1

I buy mine from my local Shop Rite and they come in 4 different varieties; Homestyle, Buttermilk, Low Fat and Blueberry.  They are conveniently located in the frozen food aisle.

My kids love waffles and these can be heated in the toaster which makes breakfast on the go a breeze.  We usually just toast and serve with syrup,  fruit or fruit and yogurt on the side on school days.  However on weekends, we can go all out and cook sausage, eggs with cheese, Canadian bacon and of course have fruit and yogurt too.  A really special recipe for Grilled Peanut Butter, Banana & Honey Waffle Sandwiches is below!

waffles 7_edited-1

My kids love a waffle sandwich that is made with 2 Aunt Jemima Waffles fresh from the toaster and with scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, topped with Canadian bacon or pork roll and topped with another waffle.  They also like the waffles with syrup and a side of sausage.  So many great ways to eat them, you can use your imagination and indulge your taste buds.  As for me I’m glad I have something in the freezer that makes breakfast fast and satisfying for my kids.  Aunt Jemima helps me have one less thing to worry about on busy mornings and gives us something special to look forward to on weekend mornings.

Recipe Idea:

I want to share another way to serve Aunt Jemima Waffles that is super yummy!  What you need is 1/2  banana cut in slices, about 1.5 Tbsp of Peanut butter, 1 Tsp of honey and 2 Aunt Jemima Waffles of your choice.

#4morewaffles-#collectivebias-Aunt-Jemima-Breakfast-#shop

Toast the waffles and then spread the peanut butter on both waffles, top one side with the honey and the other side with sliced bananas.

#4morewaffles-#collectivebias-Aunt-Jemima-Breakfast-#shop

#4morewaffles-#collectivebias-Aunt-Jemima-Breakfast-#shop

Put it together and grill it lightly in a pan with a little butter.  After grilling both sides remove, cut and enjoy!

#collectivebias-#shop-#4MoreWaffles!

You know, the fact that I could have one of these yummy grilled peanut butter, banana & honey waffle breakfast sandwiches may just be the inspiration I need not to press that snooze button.  What do you think?  You can save  right now when you purchase with a coupon for $1.00 off your purchase of Aunt Jemima Frozen Waffles.  Click HERE to print your coupon. Make Choosing Tile Easier With The Interior Design Tile Style Guide From Drury Design!!!

As someone in the middle of several home improvement projects with extensive tile work involved in 2 of them, I am excited to share a new guide to make choosing tile easier.  One of the most daunting parts of picking out tile is trying to find what you like, staying in your  budget and choosing tile that is right for the application you are using it for.  Walking in a tile showroom can be positively overwhelming!  There are so many patterns, colors, materials and finishes that it may cause your eyes to glaze over or make you have a panic attack.

Tile ModernBath

Last year at this time, I was picking out the tile for our master bath and I remember being so overwhelmed.   I just wanted to be in a room with 3 choices and make a simple decision.  Tile is something you don’t just change on a whim, you know it’s going to be with you for a long time and that’s why picking something that is going to go the long haul for you on style and  durability is paramount.

From the basics of whether  to choose glass, ceramic, porcelain, natural stone or exotic tile based on where it will be installed, durability, maintenance and your budget to lots of interior design ideas simple and ornate. Armed with the proper knowledge beforehand makes picking out tile a much easier and pleasurable task.

After School Snacks Made Quick & Easy With Bagel Bites and Delimex!!! #AfterSchoolSnacks

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser.  All opinions are 100% my own.  #CollectiveBias

My little boys make me laugh, they love to dress in costumes.  Their costumes get a lot of mileage around this house and I think their stash would out weigh any girl with a trunk full of princess garb.  My boys have every superhero costume, police costumes, army costumes, fireman costumes and so many more.  My boys play hard and they have superhero size appetites that seem to strike all at once.  My five-year old usually says, “I’m so hungry, I’m starving, I have to eat right now!”  When he gets to that point, he needs to eat fast but I also want to make sure it is nutritious.

Bagel Bites and Delimex fit both those criteria, they are fast, nutritious and easy to make snacks.  Parents can feel good knowing Bagel Bites are  made with real cheese, homemade sauce and 0g trans fat.   With school back in session soon, Bagel Bites and Delimex make the grade for quick, tasty after school snacks!

Bagel-Bites-Delimex-#Shop-#CollectiveBias-#AfterSchoolSnacks

I keep our freezer filled with them and just recently went to my local Walmart to stock up.  I bought Three Cheese and Cheese & pepperoni  Bagel Bites along with Delimex white meat Chicken  & Cheese Taquitos and Beef & Cheese Taquitos.  There are more varieties to choose from and they are conveniently located in the frozen food section.  Click HERE to save $1 on Delimex!  Click HERE to save $1.50 on Bagel Bites and Browse Some Recipes!

When you are ready to make them, you can choose to cook them in a conventional oven or the microwave.  The microwave option is great for older kids who are able to use the microwave to prepare a tasty after school snack by themselves.

So far today my kids have been Captain America, The Hulk, Army Men and changed back into The Hulk before going to bed.  They had super hero capers to solve, wars to win and bad guys to capture.  Being the mom of these super busy boys, I am so glad I don’t have to be a superhero to make  them a satisfying snack served fast. I like to have the boys take part in adding some colorful veggies to their bagel bites.  I cut up yellow and red heirloom tomatoes, multi color sweet peppers and put out sliced mushrooms and olives for them to add.
