Spice It Up In December With The 12 Days of Passion

ky passion 12days

As we head straight into the “Most Wonderful Time of the Year” it can often feel like the most stressful time of the year. Most of us already lead incredibly busy lives so throwing the holidays and all the expectations they bring on our already overflowing plate can seem like a recipe for disaster. I think stress is something most would say definitely rises during the holiday season.

The holidays seem to exacerbate so many issues for couples like family tensions, finances, and not having time together. This can all lead to arguments and hurt feelings. I think it is best to get an action plan and go on the offense before we make the most wonderful time of the year feel like the most horrible time of the year.

Couples tend to put their relationships on the back burner this time of year. It is so important to remember that you and your partner need to make time for each other. You might think that while that sounds nice it’s just not possible when you have so much to do.  You can barely get through each day as it is and you only sleep 4-5 hours.

Well, time to make a plan. Everyone has the same 24 hours. Your relationship matters and fighting and arguing can zap your energy. So make some small changes and see how you feel.  Commit to 12 days of passion with your partner this holiday season.

Sit down with your partner over dinner or coffee and dessert and get out your calendars. Calendar in 12 special times for you and him alone. They don’t have to be elaborate and they don’t have to cost a lot of money either. Just get out your calendars and take a look at some of the suggestions below and you can add your own.

  1. Notes of Passion– Pick a day and agree to leave each other passionate notes throughout the day. Of course you can include texts, but mix it up. It would be fun to stick a note for him to find in his briefcase or coat pocket as well. Speak from the heart and let your partner know why you are thankful he is your soulmate. Just doing this throughout the day can brighten both your spirits and make you feel adored.

2. Unplugged Game Nightfor just the two of you- Family game nights are nice, but this is just for you and your partner. Pick a favorite game and spend the time together when the kids are in bed to play together. You can make a favorite dessert, hot cider or cocoa to serve while you play and extra points  for playing in front of a cozy fire.

ky scrabble

3. Dinner and a Movie– Always a great one, and it does not mean going out. Chances are you have a DVD you still have not had the time to watch and cooking even the simplest dinner together can be fun. Don’t make it hard, even homemade pizza with your favorite toppings works. Heck, even frozen pizza will work, it is about the two of you spending quality time together. It does not have to be expensive or mean slaving over a hot stove all day. Use fun printables and of course some movie theater candy and popcorn containers make it super fun!

ky dinnermovie

4. Couples Massage– I was in Walmart recently and I saw K-Y® TOUCH®. K-Y® TOUCH® is a product that is a 2 in 1 Massage Creme and Pleasure Gel that can be found down the Family Planning aisle. What better way to work out that stress than from a loving massage from your life partner? This cream feels like soft cashmere and creates a feeling like warm cashmere wherever you massage it into. It is touch activated and will have you slowing down together to enjoy the splendor of the feelings it evokes as you lovingly massage one another. Trust me you will not need board games after this to pass your time.

5. Couples PlaylistYou and your partner each put together 6 songs that remind you of each other, your relationship or the love you share. Then get together and listen to them. It is amazing the feelings that music can stir up.

6.How Do I Love TheeWrite down 6 things about your partner that you love and cherish and then read them aloud to each other. Too many times we don’t feel appreciated or adored. This will give you the time not to remind each other of your shortcomings as we so often do in our day to day lives but to celebrate what you love about each other.

7.Make Something Special For Each Other– Don’t worry if you are not crafty, it could be a coupon book for special things, a poem, a song if you are musically gifted, etc. Just make something from your heart and share an early gift with the one you love.

8. Take A Walk TogetherEven a short one holding hands and unplugged. Just spend some time in nature and with each other, you will be surprised how good you feel when you take the time to connect with nature and each other.

9. Sweets For Your SweetheartPick out a special dessert recipe you have never made and make it together. Taking the time to find something you both think is pure decadence and then making it together may turn out just as sweet as the end result.

ky heart cookies

10. Share A Favorite Holiday Movie TogetherPick a holiday classic you both love and watch it together. Add cocoa and cookies for extra points.

11. Help Each Other– Help your partner with one of the chores they need to do. Maybe he helps you to wrap presents or you help him paint the guest room.  Just pick something that either of you would normally do alone and help the other with it. An extra set of hands makes the load lighter and brings you together doing something that is necessary.

12. Sit Back And Just TalkMaybe in front of the tree in the quiet evening over some coffee or cocoa, take the time to just talk about what is on your mind. This is a time to connect with conversation and really communicate. You never know what you might learn or where it might lead.

Do you have any special ways that you want to share about how you keep your relationship paramount during the holiday season? If so, please share in the comments, I would love to read your ideas.

Make Our Get “YOU” Back To “YOU” Treat Bags -#EatASNICKERS

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #EatASNICKERS #CollectiveBias

#EatASnickers Collage

Have you ever been so hungry you turn into a different person? Do you find it hard to even think straight at that point? If so, you need something to take the edge off that hunger. You need something fast that’s going to satisfy that extreme hunger that’s transforming you.

Many people including myself seem to turn into someone else when that hunger strikes. I have found it is better to be prepared for these hunger attacks. For me, SNICKERS® bars are an extremely satisfying and delicious way to curb my hunger. Mine usually strikes mid day for me.  SNICKERS® has been one of my favorites as far back as I can remember. I love the caramel, milk chocolate, nougat, and roasted peanuts that are packed into each bar.

SNICKERS® Get “YOU” Back To “YOU” Treat Bag Tutorial:

I want to share a fun and easy gift bag tutorial with you.  These SNICKERS® Get “You” Back To “You” Treat Bags are funny and serve a purpose. Keep some in a basket on your counter, on your desk at work or in your purse. You can hand one to that mom in the school pick up line that is clearly not herself. Give one to your coworker who is coming unhinged or your best friend, who is turning into someone you don’t know. Whoever you share them with, they are sure to appreciate you helping them get back to themselves. Don’t forget about yourself, you want to be able to get back to you fast too!

snickers gift basket

I was in Walmart recently and picked up some multi packs of SNICKERS® full size bars in the candy aisle. SNICKERS® individual full size bars can be found on store displays and in/near the checkout aisles. While I was there I picked up some craft ribbon, treat bags in clear, red and yellow and some colorful paper napkins.

Snickers in store collage

I made three different bag labels with PicMonkey and Microsoft Word and printed them. You can add your own touch in saying what you want. Next, I glued them  to some heavy construction paper using a glue stick. You could also use card stock.

Snickers printable tutorial

After that, I cut them out and punched a hole in the tag for the ribbon.

I took a treat bag and put one full size SNICKERS® bar and a colorful paper chevron stripe napkin. You need the napkin because as you or someone else turns back into themselves they will remember their manners.

Snickers Gift bag

Then use the little twist ties that come with the treat bags to close the bag. Use any kind of ribbon your like to attach the tag. That’s it! Wasnt’ that easy. You can do all kinds of variations of this idea. All kinds of treat bags can be used, you could add a mini bottled water if you like. You really can make it as simple or elaborate as you want. Customize them for your child’s teachers, bus driver or babysitter.

Now I have something really fun to share with you. Find out who you are when you’re hungry by taking the quiz below. Let me know your results in the comments. I also love to hear what you think of the treat bags and if you are going to give them a try.

After School Snacks To ReFuel Kids! #FuelTheirAdventures

#FuelTheirAdventures-Dannanimals-Yogurt-Smoothies-After-School-Snacks

School starts for our kids next week. This week we are still enjoying the end of Summer. We even have a road trip planned tomorrow to 6 Flags! Whenever we take a road trip, we are sure to pack snacks for our journey. It saves us time stopping every time hunger hits and cuts down on crabby kids. Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies are something we pack for road trips because they are compact, delicious and curb my kids hunger. We always have a travel cooler stocked with them when we hit the road. Tomorrow is no different.

Another great time of day for Dannon® Danimals® is after school. My kids come home famished. It’s too early for dinner and I don’t want them to eat too much that will spoil their appetite. We found Dannon® Danimals® paired with fresh fruit and vegetables along with some crackers is perfect. It is so easy to do this for your kids and have it prepared a few minutes before they get home.

I was recently in Walmart and saw the Collectors Edition 12-pack of Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies in Strawberry/Cotton Candy flavors. I picked those up along with another 12 pack of Banana Split/Strawberry Explosion. The little bottes are so cute with the different athletes on them!

An easy way to have a great snack to fuel your kids after school is to get out whatever fresh fruit and veggies you have. I had pears, baby carrots, white seedless grapes and bananas. You will also want to add some crackers and those can be whatever your kids like. I used saltines and graham crackers.

Just grab some plates, cut up the fruit, add the crackers and put out an assortment of Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies for them to pick their favorite flavor! Easy Peasy right? Works with any fresh fruit or veggies and you can mix it up so they are never bored.

Other ideas for pairings is to substitute crackers with granola, nuts or a whole grain muffin. You can add some cheese cubes, apple slices with a little peanut butter, add peanut butter to the banana slices. You can really give them something new and different every day  and all of it pairs so well with the Dannon® Danimals® Smoothies.

Some added fun for kids is  an Play 60 contest – if they find the “Golden Bongo” Dannon® Danimals® bottle (located in specially marked packages) they can win a Play60 Field Day for your school with NFL pros!

dannanimals 3

As a mom I feel good that Dannon® Danimals® provide “Only the Good Stuff®” with no high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors or colors, as well as provides a good source of calcium and vitamin D. They are  the perfect on-the-go option for our busy family!  helps fuel my kids’ adventures – at school, after school, at sports practice, during homework time or to start the day!

Have you tried Dannon® Danimals® with your kids and what are some of your favorite pairings to go with the delicious yogurt smoothies? I would love to see your ideas in the comments!

See How I Am Celebrating Our Anchor This Father’s Day-#NauticaForDad

OUr Anchor

Since losing my dad 9 years ago, Father’s Day is and always will be bittersweet. The man who I celebrated as the best dad in the world is no longer in this world with me. I miss him every day but thank God for all the years, memories and life that we shared. My father was the greatest and he was someone who really cared about people no matter what their status in life. He was a loving and caring husband, a devoted and loving father, and a brilliant and successful engineer and business owner. I learned so much from him and miss him being here with us.

I am thankful to have my husband by my side and enjoy watching him with our children especially our young sons. I am amazed at how much  our youngest idolizes his dad and wants to be like him in every way and how his older brother is so incredibly like his father in personality and temperament. The three of them are super close and do almost everything together. My husband is fully involved and engaged with our kids, coaching little league, teaching them about life, sharing his love of math and science and sports.

Nautica Collage 1

He is definitely someone they  look up to and admire and our anchor in this family. For Father’s Day this year we plan to spend a relaxing day on the lake we live on. Living on the water is something we all cherish and so last weekend when I saw the Nautica Voyage Gift Set at Macy’s, I knew he would love it .

macy's collage

Nautica Voyage is perfect for my husband because it has an undeniably masculine scent-  an anchor of woody amber  balanced with musk and damp moss.  That really fits my husband to a T and  Macy’s had a great deal on the gift set which is a $128 value priced at just $65!  The value, brands and selection at Macy’s is why it has been my go-to department store for as long as I can remember. It really never lets me down no matter who or what I am shopping for.Nautica 3

The design of the bottles in this set is so classic and sleek you want to leave them on display because they are too gorgeous to hide in the vanity or medicine cabinet. My husband is going to love this set and the smaller eau de Toilette spray is perfect for travel, like the getaway we have planned for next month.

Nautica 1

The shower gel and after shave balm along with the fragrance will have him smelling great whether we get that rare date night on the town together or spend the day just hanging out with family and friends.  I cannot wait until he sees it this Sunday!  So who are you celebrating this Father’s Day?

You can stay in the loop with Nautica on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and be sure and enter the giveaway below for your chance to win big!

Give Your Dog A Loving Nudge With Nudges Wholesome Dog Treats-#NudgeThemBack

#NudgeThemBack #CollectiveBias

nudge collage treats

We love our dogs, they are more than pets to us, they are family members.  We have three dogs and they are each very unique in personality and size.  Delilah is our big dog, a purebred American Bulldog and a loyal protector.  Delilah will watch the kids and if any animal or person tries to harm them, they won’t live to tell the tale.  As parents we feel blessed to have a dog that will protect our kids, it makes us feel great to know she’s around since we live out in the country.

Next, we have Zoey, our West Highland White Terrier.  Zoey is always there to “help” with any project.  She is also a fearless protector of our family and our home.  In typical terrier fashion she will be tenacious and persistent if some critter starts hanging around that should not be.  This is not always a great thing, a couple of weeks ago she had it out with a skunk and she was on the losing end.  Those skunks have an unfair advantage!

Last but not least we have tiny Sassafras (Sassy), our Maltese.   Sassy is a sweetheart who does not understand she is tiny.  If the other dogs go off to bark at some intruder, she will go right with them and give it her all.  Her spirit is much bigger than her stature.

The way we love our dogs, we want nothing but the best for them.  We make it a priority to feed them wholesome food and treats that will allow them to live a long, vibrant life. The other day I was in Walmart and saw new dog treats called Nudges® Grillers.  The clear window package showed the treats and they looked just like cuts of steak and chicken that had been freshly grilled.  I am more aware of the ingredients in dog foods and treats and was pleased to see that Nudges® were made in the USA with only USA sourced protein! The number 1 ingredient in the treats was real meat and they did not have artificial flavors or fillers!  These were treats I could feel good about feeding our girls, I picked up a few bags and headed home!

nudges in store photos

I was really impressed upon opening them, they smelled just like fresh grilled meat and they had a similar texture. One of my young sons asked if this was okay for him to eat, lol.  I told him no, but I think that is a great testimonial for how similar they were to beef or chicken fresh off the grill.  I like them because when we are grilling outside the dogs sit and sniff and want to be included.  Nudges® Grillers Beef and Chicken treats give us a way to include our dogs in our BBQ.  You can learn more and see the full product line up at nudgesdogtreats.com

The taste tests went over great and they just loved the beef and chicken Grillers.  Nudges® also has Sizzlers in Chicken Bacon and Beef & Cheese.  The Grillers and Sizzlers are available in 3 oz or 18 oz bags.  Given our brood, we went with the 18 oz. bags.  I noticed a value size of Jerky Cuts by Nudges® that I want to pick up the next time I am in Walmart.   Check out nudgethemback.com and see how other dog lovers are nudging their best friends and family members back.  You can also stay in touch with them on their Facebook page. So tell me, have you seen the new Nudges® dog treats?   Which ones do you think your dog(s) would like the most?  If you have tried them, I would love to hear what you and your dog thought of them.

How We Made A Unique Coat Tree From Cut Timber For Free #BringingInnovation

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #BringingInnovation #CollectiveBias

green coat tree collage

I care deeply about the Earth, I love to repurpose things and use the natural resources around us.  It’s funny, even though our house has many closets, my children and husband leave their coats and back packs all over our kitchen chairs.  This drives me crazy! Since closets and wall racks did not work, I thought maybe a coat tree placed in the side hall would. The coat tree would be prominent,  they could easily hang their coats, hats and backpacks as they walked by.  I choose my battles and would rather have the coats on a coat tree in the side hall than on my kitchen chairs.

When I started researching coat trees, all I saw were flimsy or unattractive designs.  I looked further and found some really unique coat trees made out of TREES!  Can you imagine?  After seeing that and living on acres of wooded property…I think you can imagine my thoughts.  I called out to my husband  and showed him my idea, he was all for it. We couldn’t have picked a better time, many trees were recently cut by the town because they were too close to electric wires.  We gathered our tree supplies and started the process of assembly.

For the base my husband split a large log in half. Then he used a chainsaw and chisel to make a hole in the top of the base for the tree trunk.  He also hollowed out the underside of the log right beneath the hole on the top.  Hollowing the bottom made it possible to get the screw/bolt used to attach the trunk to the base, deeper into the trunk. We wanted to make sure the base was very safe and secure.

Tree Rack 9

Tree-Rack-

Tree Rack 8

Tree Rack 5

We also put wood glue around the base before attaching it.  Then my husband cut the “hooks” from long lengths of tree branches. After that he drilled holes in the tree trunk for them.  He put wood glue on the base of the branch hooks, then placed them in the holes and knocked them into place with a 2 pound sledge-hammer.  Right now, we have three branch hooks on the bottom for the little kids and three on the top for adults but we plan to add a few more.

Tree Rack 6

Tree Rack 7

As soon as this New York winter, err I mean spring, wants to give us some seasonable weather, we’re going to take the coat tree outside and seal and protect it with marine varnish.  I will update when it is finished with the final pictures.

Tree Rack 3

We are really impressed with our unique coat tree and have more projects in mind that we will share with you in the upcoming weeks.   We’re happy  we can utilize the natural resources on our property to make something we need.  In the end we have something we’re proud of and best of all is made in the USA by us!

The coat tree is super sturdy and far better than anything we could purchase. I wish we could make everything we need, but there are some things we can’t.  Batteries for our remotes, kid’s toys, clocks, and more are something we can’t harvest outside. Last weekend I was shopping at Walmart and saw new Energizer® EcoAdvanced AA Batteries and picked some up.  They’re right in the normal battery aisle in the photo department. EcoAdvanced AA batteries are the longest lasting and best performing Energizer® Alkaline ever!  Equally impressive EcoAdvanced AA and AAA batteries are the first in the world to be with a percentage of recycled batteries. You can stock up on them too, because they hold up to 12 years in storage.

walmart store image collage

Performance is very important to me, I work from home and rely on the battery in my computer mouse. If  I’m in the middle of a webinar or conference, I can’t afford to have the battery die when trying to change a slide (I hate touchpads). I need performance I can depend on. Energizer® EcoAdvanced Batteries give me peace of mind knowing I have that! This is another step  Energizer® is taking on their journey to bring performance and responsibility to the world – that’s positivenergy!™  I’m thrilled at these steps forward and love the guilt-free benefit I can count on in the longest lasting Energizer® alkaline!

Tree Rack 4

You know what else I love?  Coat free kitchen chairs around my table! Yippee for small but gratifying victories! Speaking of victories you can enter the “GuiltFreeEnergy” Giveaway below for your chance to win  $1,000 in Gift Cards!

Grilled Peanut Butter, Banana & Honey Waffle Breakfast Sandwiches With Aunt Jemima Frozen Waffles!!! #4MoreWaffles

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #collectivebias

I always think that the plan of getting up 20 minutes earlier in the morning will make getting the kids out the door less hurried and subsequently less stressful.  It makes perfect sense at night and I totally agree and would offer the advice to anyone.  However, when that alarm goes off and I am feeling particularly sleepy, knowing that I have the extra minutes can make me hit the snooze alarm a few times.  Now at the time, I think those extra minutes are so worth it, but when we are scurrying about trying to get everyone dressed and out to the bus stop in time and someone can’t find something they need, it hardly seems worth it.

I want my kids to not be stressed in the morning, so we make sure that we have everything ready to go the night before and that helps.  You know what else helps?  Having breakfast choices that are fast and easy.  That is why I keep Aunt Jemima Frozen Waffles in our freezer.  The resealable packs now come with  14 waffles instead of 10! Yeah for 4 more waffles and the resealable bag makes it easy to take what you need, leaving the rest sealed for freshness.

waffles 2_edited-1

I buy mine from my local Shop Rite and they come in 4 different varieties; Homestyle, Buttermilk, Low Fat and Blueberry.  They are conveniently located in the frozen food aisle.

My kids love waffles and these can be heated in the toaster which makes breakfast on the go a breeze.  We usually just toast and serve with syrup,  fruit or fruit and yogurt on the side on school days.  However on weekends, we can go all out and cook sausage, eggs with cheese, Canadian bacon and of course have fruit and yogurt too.  A really special recipe for Grilled Peanut Butter, Banana & Honey Waffle Sandwiches is below!

My kids love a waffle sandwich that is made with 2 Aunt Jemima Waffles fresh from the toaster and with scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, topped with Canadian bacon or pork roll and topped with another waffle.  They also like the waffles with syrup and a side of sausage.  So many great ways to eat them, you can use your imagination and indulge your taste buds.  As for me I’m glad I have something in the freezer that makes breakfast fast and satisfying for my kids.  Aunt Jemima helps me have one less thing to worry about on busy mornings and gives us something special to look forward to on weekend mornings.

Recipe Idea:

I want to share another way to serve Aunt Jemima Waffles that is super yummy!  What you need is 1/2  banana cut in slices, about 1.5 Tbsp of Peanut butter, 1 Tsp of honey and 2 Aunt Jemima Waffles of your choice.

#4morewaffles-#collectivebias-Aunt-Jemima-Breakfast-#shop

Toast the waffles and then spread the peanut butter on both waffles, top one side with the honey and the other side with sliced bananas.

Gourmet Dinner & Movie Date Night Idea for Under $20!!! #KYDateNight #ad

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser.

KY-Date-Night-#KYDateNight- #cbias-#ad

My husband and I don’t  get the chance to go out by ourselves much.  With five kids, including two little ones, no family nearby and very busy schedules, date nights out of our home are not in the cards at this time.  However, just because we can’t get out for a “date” doesn’t mean we can’t stay in and still have a great date night.

Sure, you need to get a little creative, but where there’s a will there’s a way right?  If you’re in the same boat and want to do something special for you and your love, I hope this inspires you.  My husband and I had a land and sea dinner with balsamic marinated skirt steak and shrimp scampi, all the food was delivered fresh from Plated.com.  We also watched a great movie on Vudu.com which we turned into a real theater experience with popcorn and our favorite movie theater candy.

Do you think that sounds like it might be expensive?  What if I told you that it was included in a special package of K-Y Yours + Mine couples lubricants?  It was, and the K-Y Yours + Mine was under $15 at Walmart.  You can easily spend 6 times that going out to a gourmet dinner and a movie.  You would not even be able to buy 2 movie tickets for $15 in most theaters not to mention the price they charge for popcorn, candy and drinks!

Walmart has specially marked boxes of K-Y Yours + Mine that include gift codes to Plated.com and Vudu.com (a $40 value)!

 KY-Date-Night-#KYDateNight- #cbias-#ad

KY-Date-Night-#KYDateNight- #cbias-#ad

We lucked out big time because Plated.com had a special when we went online to order our dinner and doubled the amount of dinners.  We then picked out a land and a sea option!  On Vudu.com you can browse form hundreds of movies that will stream instantly for you.

There are a lot of ways you can enhance the date night experience at home.  Pinterest can be a great source of inspiration where you can find some date night theme printables that will add a lot of fun.  Pop up some popcorn and instead of eating it out of the bag, put it in some fun popcorn containers, then head off to the big candy bins that are in Walmart and pick out some boxes of your favorites.  You can also whip up some special deserts to have after dinner too!

Put the kids to bed early and then have fun preparing dinner together. My husband and I like to cook and with Plated it was so easy to get to the fun part. Everything was sent fresh to us along with the recipes so there was no shopping or planning on our part. We had a lovely dinner of balsamic marinated skirt steak with creamy, corn polenta and shrimp scampi with cauliflower bruschetta.

After dinner we took our dessert, candy and popcorn into the family room.  We fired up the big screen and browsed the available movies on Vudu.com and picked our movie.

After movie time, it’s time to move the party upstairs with K-Y Yours + Mine.  We had a date night that rocked all night long!

With our large family and my older kid’s friends always over, it’s like a party every day at our house.  I sometimes feel like we have a revolving door and you never know who’s going to pop over.  With older boys and their friends, I can tell you that we always have hungry people in our house.

Now, when you add an event like the big game to the agenda, you can be sure there better be plenty of great snacks and tasty food for the sports fans to munch on.  They say go big or go home, that’s how we feel about a lot of things but certainly how we plan when entertaining during game time!  My husband likes to cook especially when we have friends and family coming by to relax and enjoy a big game day with us.

My husband can be found making his signature chili and serving it with cubes of cheddar cheese for an unbelievable hearty bowl of comfort food.  Chips and dips of all kinds, cold drinks, and we always like to have some finger foods like wings too.  T.G.I. Friday’s has some amazing appetizers available in the freezer section of your local Walmart store now!

Choose from Frozen Snacks of Delicious Wings with Honey BBQ Sauce, Loaded Cheddar & Bacon Potato Skins,Boneless Chicken Bites with Honey BBQ Sauce, Mozzarella Sticks, Jalapeno Poppers and much more.  These appetizers are easy to prepare and let you spend time with your family and friends watching the game without sacrificing taste or quality.

I picked some up recently from the well-stocked freezer section at Walmart.  There are regular and even value sizes of some varieties to choose from, and  you better believe  when the value size was available, I chose that and loaded up my cart.  I checked out and drove home and my husband put the treats in our extra freezer.

Imagine my surprise the next day when I went to get the boxes and found considerably less then I purchased.  Apparently, my older boys found the stash while getting some ice cream.  Enticed seeing the colorful T.G.I Friday’s packaging and even more intrigued by the pictures of their favorite Friday’s foods, those snacks never had a chance.  Needless to say, there was quite a dent put in my stash.  Oh well, what are you going to do, the story of living with teenagers!  I never need to worry about my little ones doing that yet, give them time though.

So I took what I had left and prepared a sampling buffet for us to try so we could get a feel for our favorites.  I cooked what was left of the wings, boneless chicken, loaded potato skins and poppers.  I left some of the chicken uncoated for my little guys but they ended up wanting the sauce.  I think it’s nice though that you can keep some plain for those who prefer that.  Everything cooked very quickly and disappeared just as fast which is a testimony to how good it tasted!
