Easy Easter Treats To Make With Kids

Is it wrong to dip tender, sweet marshmallow Peeps in melted chocolate? If it is…I’m guilty! I wanted to share how much fun we had with colorful Peep Bunnies and Chicks, some sticks, sprinkles, decors and our imagination. There are so many fun things you can do with Peeps but making Peeps Pops has to be near the top of the list.

So easy and you can decorate and make a nice centerpiece for a dessert buffet with them. Just melt your chocolate and put your Peep on a stick and let your imagination run. You can dip them totally and sprinkle with decors and sprinkles or you can dip just the bottom of the chicks so it looks like a nest.

Whatever you decided this is a fun and tasty Easter project the whole family can take part in! So grab some Peeps and get read for some dipping and sprinkling in the kitchen festivities. With Peeps, chocolate and sprinkles…you can’t go wrong. Later Peeps (sorry couldn’t resist).

Glee Gum, Make Your Own Candy Kit, Review & Giveaway!!! #HolidayGiftGuide

In the past you may have read about how we made our own milk chocolate with kits from Glee Gum. We decided to mix it up a bit this year and try a different kit. We opted for the Make Your Own Chewing Gum Kit. So recently we set out to test out our gum making skills. The kit comes with all you need, even a disposable tray to melt the chicle gum base which resembles small beads or popcorn kernels. The reason for the disposable tray is because the chicle gum base when melted is so incredibly sticky.

We used the microwave to melt the chicle gum base and when it was melted we added the corn syrup and tried to stir.

I say tried to because the stickiness really makes you add some serious muscle to the mix. after that you roll it in the confectioner’s sugar and then knead in one of the flavor packets. After that you roll it and cut it into pieces. The best part is last and you can taste your creation.

My kids thought it was fun and as a parent it was very educational like all their “make your own” kits. Well, if there was ever a right time to experience a taste of summer, it’s right now. Today was in the high 30’s and I tell you, it felt like a heat wave! Coming out of that frigid Arctic blast was a blessing and to celebrate we made S’mores.

Now we did not gather around the outdoor fire pit but we took advantage of a new Hershey’s product to help us get to yummy super fast. Is it Wrong to Dip Tender Marshmallow Bunnies in Chocolate?

If it is…I’m guilty!!! I caved, after seeing all the Peep Pop posts, I had to get in on the fun. Today I put bunnies on sticks, dipped them in melted chocolate and sprinkled them with love. I took pretty purple Peep chicks and made them chocolate nest that I decorated with sprinkles. Oh, then I put those purple Peep chicks on sticks. Happy Easter Everyone!!!
