We are moving into spring, the weather is warming up and soon the kids will be out of school for summer. Are you looking for fun outdoor things to do? How about camping? I believe in buying quality especially when it comes to things that we will be using for a long time. If you go cheap on things like that, you will just end up replacing them many times over and it will cost you more in the long run. When shopping for a swingset you may be enticed by super low prices. However, take a look at what you are really getting. Will the structure grow with your child? Sure they may be toddlers now but they won’t be for long and you want a set that will grow with them. Can it support adults. It certainly should so you can get in on the fun and help your child navigate some of the structures.
When we were shopping for a swing set 6 years ago our kids were super little. one was not even 2 months old when I started shopping for the set. I scoured everything I could find, looking for the best materials, quality construction, adaptability, large number of activities and play areas. I spent a many weeks of painstaking research. I knew we wanted 100% cedar construction, a climbing wall, swings, clubhouses, slides, monkey bars, horse glider swing, picnic table, tire swing and a quality construction that would stand up to cold winters and allow adults to play too. I found what I was looking for at Eastern Jungle Gym. I even hit a spectacular sale that made the set I purchased a tremendous value for the money. I am not saying it was cheap, but when I tell you 6 years later that our set is still going strong and still something our kids play on daily, we are definitely getting more than our money’s worth out of it.
We chose theFantasy wooden swing setwhich is the most popular of their Multi-Deck Series. Two of the clubhouses are covered with canopies. The third clubhouse takes the place of a walkway and acts as an uncovered bridge between the two. Beneath the two higher clubhouses the kids will discover a set of double-wide monkey bars, large enough to not interfere with the nearby tire swing.
We started big with our set but one of the things I love about Eastern Jungle Gym is their sets are able to be expanded with new accessories. This way, no matter what size set you have, you can add additional features or structures to expand your child’s play options. They also have replacement tarps and accessories so you can easily renew your set as needed. After 6 years and two active boys our set is going strong. The only things showing any wear were the 2 clubhouse tarps and it needs some touch up on the wood stain. We also wanted a few extra rock grips for the climbing wall as our 6-year-old was needing some that were closer and filled in a few large gaps. I called Eastern Jungle Gym and spoke to Ashley who was so pleasant and helpful. I explained what I wanted and she directed me to what I needed. We even discussed color options for the tarps to really change the look. In the end we decided on the green and yellow striped tarps and 8 extra rock grips for the rock wall. Next year we plan to get the stain to touch up the set since we were moving into colder weather, we will take care of that in the spring. Easter Jungle Gym graciously provided the tarps and rock grips and had them shipped out promptly to us.
My husband was able to easily change out the tarps and add the rock grips.
So next spring we plan to power wash all the wood and re-stain and we should be all good to go for more years of fun!!! Eastern Jungle Gym is having a HUGE SALENow! Our kids are extremely active! They will be outdoors playing from sun up to long after sun down. Definitely no couch potatoes here! They love riding bikes around the lake we live, we all do! I was intrigued when I saw the Rockboard RBX Scooter. This scooter allows kids and adults up to 220 lbs to propel themselves without the typical kicking. With the Rockboard RBX you propel yourself by rocking and your feet never need to touch the ground. It is a rocking motion that propels the scooter and our 6-year-old and 8-year-old were able to get the hang of it rather quickly.
The RBX is not something you will spend all day assembling. In fact there are only a few pieces to connect and you can be off and rocking. Summer is just about here, if you’re like me you’re probably busy making summer plans. We have some nice day trips planned and since we live on a lake, we really love the summer! Keeping the kids active and cool all summer long may seem like a huge undertaking especially if you don’t have a pool or lake nearby. How about your own water park in your yard? When inflated you can secure with the included stakes to keep you inflatable safe and secure and there are even stakes for the blower. Then simply attach your garden hose to the hose that extends down the back of the inflatable and secure.
Turn on your water supply and the water will spray out of the spray heads located above each slide and eventually fill the pool area, Now you could fill the pool area too if you like and then connect the hose to the back as well. We do it the first way and it works fine. now if you live in the mountains like me and do not have truly level land you will find areas of the pool that are deeper and areas where it is very shallow but my kids never really care about that and given we move it around all the time the changes in the water of the pool is fun.
One big advantage the Crocodile Isle has over the Ultra Croc we have is that with the climbing wall in the front they kids do not exit the pool to climb up to the platform and go down the slides. This means that they will not be tracking grass, leaves and dirt back into the water and slides. I really like that! We recently reviewed Blast Zone’s Rainforest Rapids Wet or Dry Inflatable with Slides. First let me say we are huge Blast Zone fans and our kids spend the entire late spring, summer and early fall in their inflatables. This is our Fifth Inflatable from Blast Zone and I can tell you they are very high quality and all 5 are going strong!
We live on a lake and we have all the kids coming over to use them and they hold up to all the abuse the kids can dish out. We were very impressed with the Rainforest Rapids Inflatable, it was a cinch to set up, just like all the Blast Zone inflatables we have and super easy to attach the tubes for the water. We have been using it for several weeks and I will tell you that it is so easy to maintain.
What my husband and I do to make things really easy is that we purchased very large, high quality tarps that we put under our inflatables. It keeps them clean and you can deflate them and then wrap the tarp around the inflatable for a cover if rain is coming and the next day uncover and inflate. The kids go from bouncing to sliding to splashing and swimming with ease and squeals of delight.
The unit keeps them cool and active all day and they have so much fun. It is the first thing turned on in the morning and literally not turned off until dark during the Summer. I think these units are a great investment for families because they are like having a water park in your yard and are great for birthdays and parties too!

You may remember our review of the Blast Zone Hang Ten we did a few months ago. We love that inflatable so when we had the chance to review the huge Ultra Croc Inflatable Water Park we were ecstatic. It arrived quickly and was very easy to unpack and set up. All we had to do was unroll the inflatable and then hook the blower up, plug the blower in and voila, we were up and ready to attach the water hoses and sprayers. It was pretty easy for my husband to attach them and they have multiple velcro fasteners to hold the hose and sprayer heads on securely. We were also able to just leave them attached and deflate and inflate time and again. We have used in multiple times in the few days we have had it. I like that the hose tubing is clear so you can see that it is clean and if there was ever an obstruction.
This inflatable has three separate pools, 3 slides, a climbing wall and that all equals a tremendous amount of fun on a hot day. My three-year old climbs the wall no problem and there are lots of safety handles for him to use. They have a blast with this inflatable and we have to literally drag them out when the sun starts going down and they start shivering. Even then they don’t want to get out. We never hear that they are tired of it or don’t want to go in. We simply set it up and start the water in the morning and they are in for the majority of the day.
The quality is great, and we are so glad it has so many commercial features because it is going to hold up very well to the tremendous amount of use it is going to receive. What do I get?
Each Blast Zone inflatable includes the inflatable unit, a UL approved blower a carrying case, stakes for the blower and stakes for the bouncer. One of the things my kids love about their mom being a review blogger, is that I get some pretty cool stuff to review. We recently had the opportunity to choose a Blast Zone Inflatable to review. We ended up choosing the Hang 10, which is a large inflatable with a bounce section and a huge slide that can be used wet or dry, for fun year round. We have been having such a mild winter here in NY State. We have not had snow and sledding parties needed to be cancelled. So we had planned to do the review on a mild day and during the night we had a brief dusting of snow. We however went ahead with our plans, and just so you know, it was very mild even though there is some snow on the grass.The inflatable comes with everything you need, the blower, the stakes (please note that since we were doing just a review and the ground was hard we did not put the stakes in as we would do if we were planning on using the unit for a party or for the kids to play in for a long time. You may also want to use sand bags to make it super secure, especially if there is any wind. It also includes the hosing and sprayer attachments to make it a wet slide in the warmer weather and a large storage bag is also included. You take the inflatable out and unfold it and then just hook the blower up and in minutes the unit is inflated and ready to be staked down. This inflatable is very attractive with its bright, bold colors and cute little palm tree accents. The bounce portion has a handle and foot holes so that a child can boost up to the slide for a fun ride out of the bounce house.
There is an entrance ramp to the bounce house and it is completely enclosed for safety. The bottom of the slide forms a bit of a pit that is great for a water pool when using it in the summer and you can also fill it with those small colored balls to add even more fun during other times. The bouncer is very well constructed, made with quality materials and is very impressive. My kids just loved this inflatable and burned off lots of energy. It is so easy to set up and take down that you can really use it anytime quickly and easily.
