Rosie’s How to Sew Doll Clothes Course Review and Giveaway!!!

Thanks to Rosie at Rosieā€™s Doll Clothes Patterns, I had the amazing opportunity to take her classĀ  on sewing doll clothes for a review on Mommy Ramblings! The class consists of over 120 short video tutorials and 8 free doll clothes patterns that are made to fit the popular 18 inch American Girl dolls.

The video tutorials are super easy to understand for a novice seamstress, they are short and explain pretty much everything you need to know about sewing doll clothes. The provided patterns are straightforward and also easy to use, with video instructions for each pattern that are included free in the class. The free outfit patterns are so cute and fun, not to mention very easy to make, but still giving you that professionally finished look. Using Rosieā€™s tips, I was able to make some of the outfits fit my smaller Cabbage Patch Kid doll as well as the 18 inch doll. Rosie makes her videos relaxed and slow-paced as she educates you on many techniques and shortcuts for sewing, everything is explained in detail and very thorough so you donā€™t miss a thing! With the immediate access online class, you have full access to all of the video tutorials on the website for 12 months, giving you plenty of time to learn and review everything at your own pace. All of the videos are divided up into weekly lessons to keep it from being overwhelming. If everything at once is too much, you can sign up for the weekly emails, where new lessons will be emailed to you each week so you can take things slowly. Coming soon there will also be an option to get the whole class sent to you on DVD. What I love about this class, is that if for some reason you didnā€™t catch something, or donā€™t remember it later, you can go back and review the video. The quality of the videos was superb, and I never had any problems or glitches from streaming them. You can also make the videos full screen to get a closer look at what she is doing, which can be extremely helpful at times like when the object of the video is small.

This class is great for someone who has never sewn before, who just wants to start simple and sew her own doll clothes, or even an intermediate sewer who wants to learn some cool techniques. I will even admit that a more experienced seamstress like myself can benefit greatly from this course! I havenā€™t made doll clothes before, and this was a great opportunity for me to learn the aspects that make it differ from sewing adult or kid clothes. I actually learned many skills and shortcuts that I had never dreamt of. I loved how I was able to skip some of the tutorials of things I already knew and go straight to the refreshers and shortcuts I benefited from learning. If you have a daughter who loves her dolls and getting new clothes, this course gives you the opportunity to save so much money by doing it yourself, Rosie makes sewing doll clothes so easy that youā€™ll wonder why you ever forked over so much money for pre-made doll clothes! With her class, Rosie shows you that anyone can make their own doll clothes, and have fun while doing it! The class would actually be a fantastic gift for an older girl who is interested in sewing and wanting to start small. There are many other cute patterns for sale on the website, even after buying the pattern and fabric, making your own doll clothes is still saving you money on doll clothes!
